This is just. so. good. I miss live music, I life is just returning to whatever normal is, and more than most things, I miss getting to see one of the best live acts out there. I hope our orbits collide soon so I can dance and sing along and can help celebrate and support the important and lovely work that you do!!! Love and thanks from Vermont
I remember some of the members from *Cal State LA*, great job! Special thanks for bringing attention to social/political issues that really need to be made!
Second time I saw this amazing group live, they had been booked for a University concert series - MOST of the audience were 'season ticket' holders - east coast octogenarian blue bloods and mostly retired intellectual Jews part of the big flight from NYC in the 1960's (making VT much more awesome in the process) - a cultured and erudite crowd to say the least, but a bit, ahem... reserved! Las Cafeteras took one look out at the crowd and said, "Hold my caguamas". Not really, but undaunted they launched into their set with abandon. The 20 (or so) of us who were down from the first note EXPLODED out of our seats in the concert hall more accustomed to baroque chamber music and began dancing - we were met with SIGNFIGANT DISDAIN from the 'regulars - by the end of the concert, the entire audience was on their feet, old men with walkers, ladies with their canes, the room stunk like a '90s rave at 4am, and there were smiles all around! It wasn't just the music (they are badass!) it was how freakin' genuine they are in everything they do, they say, the causes they support - yep, they got it!!!!!
I had the pleasure of meeting the drummer at a gig in my hometown (Mexico City), he's such a great and down to earth guy! I was looking for bands that sing in spanish with an interesting sound and I'm amazed that chicanos are killing it right now. For me It's a bummer that some Mexican Bands prefer to sing in english when our mother tongue can give a really interesting twist to al genres.
Did I hear these guys actually complaining about their tour? Isn't a zillion people paying and applauding a sign of gratitude? That said, there really should be no limit to thank yous! And the music is wonderful!
Thank you for the at home dance party of 1. Great music thank you
