Turned a few guerita teachers into la gente while teaching a lesson on “American” Lit, including Borges, Viramontes, Castro into our lessons for today.. I intro’d my Zoom lesson with THIS anthem🤎🤎🤎✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽💥💥💥Gracias 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I just heard this song on our local San Francisco jazz station, KCSM and ran to RUclips. This band, you are incredible. We need more bands and music like this . You now have 58 year old , San Francisco hippie as a new fan . Thank you, gracias many blessings✌❤
This song made me cry. I don't cry easily. Yo ya voté para las elecciones primarias aquí en California, pero es arte cómo está que me da la fortaleza y esperanza para seguir luchando. ¡Arriba y arriba! Desde la area de la bahía. ✌🏼
Love Las Cafeteras musica. The messages are strong, relevant and entertaining. Loved the group and that escalated even more after I saw them perform at the Riverside Tamale Festival. They rocked the audience with the lyrics and high energy!
This is an interesting group. From what I understand, they are from the east side of L.A., but more Mexican in style, less Chicano. The rap with a Caribbean accent is definitely different for California. But a good mix, nonetheless. This is the nice side of the U.S., and actually its future (if we are all going to survive)
Hermosa, una canción con un mensaje fuerte y concreto! Me encantan sus letras, espero continúen con ese movimiento tan puro que quieren expandir :) Arriba Cafeteras!
Thank you for giving a voice to the true American dream. The one that is really worth striving for. This song hasn't aged a bit and is as relevant as at the time of its creation. Saludos solidarios desde Alemania!
I would be interested in being able to Look at the lyrics. I like the video very much, just can;t always follow it all and I would like to know more about the message!
Tertelvision Bilingual people like me would be happy to submit captions! I've never done it before, but I can reach out to the band on social media and see if they'd be on board to give someone permission to caption it for them. :)
Thanks! Somehow, this beautiful song of awareness and fortitude lightened my heart even after too much reading of military death and mindlessly destructive ugliness imposed upon the globe in the interest of greed and absolute control by the few over all. We still have now, and it's now or never, to salvage what remains and to make a sustainable civilization out of it.
Increíble! The video and the message are amazing! I'll be using this with my students next week as a free write. They'll also be composing a class "protest" music video over the next few weeks. Any chance anyone in your band would be able to Zoom in with our class to do a Q and A?
Dang thats a great idea I have to send this to my teacher along with Demi lovato's Commander in Chief and the parody of maybe Im amazed Maybe i'm Immune, which was on a late night show.
Among the best things of the recent election "season" -- discovering Las Cafeteras (thank you, "Georgia on My Mind") --- I am hooked. Fantastic, every single thing I've seen and heard --- thank you! And, hooray for the Georgia voters, too.
Acabo de escuchar esta canción en LATV pero no supe como se llamaba Solo recordé la parte de "me gusta la lima, me gusta el limon" y busque y busque hasta que la encontré Me gusta el estilo:)

I used to hang out with the hipsters I realized women are lesbians they don't like men. Why not ,,Grupo cafeteras. The men are sensitive so it makes sense
why is this brother riding in the bed of the truck after helping to push I heard about this group on Democracy Now yesterday listened to this song, it brought me to tears was going to tell others about it. after seeing this video i'll never listen to it again. it's sad that this young man didn't have enough pride to not go along with this. I should cuss you out...
I love Las Cafeteras and this beautiful, inspiring song, but the bad English grammar makes me want to bang my head against the wall. "If I was president" is the equivalent of saying "si era presidente," which, of course, is grammatically incorrect in Spanish. It should be "If I Were President."
Let's do this TODAY! Through the power of la cruz de Caravaca. Amen.
Such a beautiful message. I listen to this song everyday and am so grateful to be alive and able to make changes where I can. ❤

"My first lady would be my moms cause she would slap me at the first thought of drone strikes and dropping bombs"! FIRE!! Too real!
