I watched this video at least three times before I went in for my interview and guess what? I got the job! Thank you so much for being so detailed and saying what to actually expect in such interview.
thank you for this. i have no BA experience but trying to get a job in the field. I did a training. I have an interview tomorrow and i'm a little no nervous but been studying on various aspects... use cases, test cases, req elicitation, functional reqs, writing a brd etc.
Thank you for your comment and good luck on your interview tomorrow! Please come back and let me know how it went! Thanks for the tips! One thing you missed is " Tell me about Yourself" this is the core question asked by the hiring managers. Within 1 min window, the candidate needs to cover his/her recent work experience with the skills sets that matched the job descriptions. The answer to this question is very vital as it gives the hiring manager about your image.
Thanks for watching the video! Yes " Tell me about yourself" is a common question too. I think it is always unfortunate when the interview starts with this question though they often do. It is unfortunate because: 1. They have a resume with the person's information already 2. This is a terrible icebreaker because the candidate often is meeting the interviewing for the first time, what part of yourself do they really want to know? It doesn't help that it has to be quick as well. Best approach is what you said: sum up your recent or past work and make it relevant to the new job. I would also add in something personal to make myself stand out - like say, I have two poodles who I enjoy running with - or something like that. You would think people would find it easy to answer "Tell me about yourself" but when I'm the interviewer, I've found that candidates get more comfortable quicker when I start with " Tell me about your current job." Hopefully in the future interviewers will move away from starting interviews with this question - it is nerve racking for candidates and usually the interviewers get answers they already knew from the resume. Cheers!

New subscriber! I am new to the field and have a few interviews set up for this week. This video was very informative and will help guide me as I prepare!
Hey Karaleise. Love your teachings on BA. Could you please do a series about documents a BA must be able to write and how to write them? I will greatly appreciate it.
Thanks Wiyli. I have a few videos on documentation. Here is one on general documentation skills ruclips.net/video/NFJrR5mzMdo/видео.html I also have one on writing user stories for agile ruclips.net/video/kGcmp588gEg/видео.html and here is a detail example of writing the acceptance criteria on a user story:ruclips.net/video/G1BSQVZNzvM/видео.html. Hope these help!
Great video for newbies like me! I'm new to BA and wanted to know if you can share a sample project related to banking sector as to what a BA does and the different stakeholders he interacts with.
Hi kara sis, Ankita from India. Its amazing video, a plethora of tips tqsm. But which website should I apply to attend interview based business analyst. Thanks in advanced.
Hi Ankita, thanks for checking out the videos! Not sure if I understand your question but you can get a lot of information on business analysis on my blog karaleise.com and also you can check out the iiba website as well! All the best!!
Thanks for watching the video Tolase! Yes there are specific documents - please check out this video on the documents a BA produces: ruclips.net/video/cn2--7EcxiA/видео.html Hope that helps!
I think you mean case studies right? You can find case studies everywhere. Think of the last business you went to and did not receive a good service. What went wrong? and if you worked there as a business analyst, how would you improve the process? Here is a more specific example: say you got hired as a BA at Amazon and they want to add a gift wrapping service to the checkout page so you can pick the gift wrap design and put a personal note on a gift card as an add-on to your order, how would you go about handling this? These are examples of real time case studies that you can do using the ba tools and techniques. Read more on ba tools in this article:karaleise.com/business-analysis-techniques-for-new-bas/
