I know that William is a total asshole and a leader of the modern assassins and also he can be a little bit overhead thinking of himself as an important person and bitching his own son Desmond but still, he was also a father who gave his son the best things he got so that Desmond could survive on his own with or without the interfere of those damn templars. even before Desmond sacrificed himself for the world, William tried his best to give his son the childhood he missed and never got it as much as he could. I don't blame him for being a terrible leader and a bad assassin, I blame him for not being a good father when he should be, but at least he got that redemption for his son in the end.
