    I hope that the genius of the designer who invented this system was immediately fired by Monsieur Renault ... and never again hired by any other manufacturer !!!

    About 3 yrs ago I had to get Greenflag out to get the spare down. Used it again yesterday - it works but I think a good spray of WD-40 could help on future occasions. One concern for me is that the car is 16 years old - is the spare reliable after that length of time? Plus - the jack is a pig to use and replace - as another poster has stated. Plus - I'm a fairly strong bloke and I find the bolt lever doesn't loosen the bolts that easily, so I bought an extendable lever.

    The plastic centre holder which supports the tyre has to engage with the white plastic 'nut' which can then be screwed up. No amount of pulling and clicking works (I've found to my frustration) unless that 'bolt' enters the boot cavity. Is there a degree course for this?

      there is a small sign at the bottom on the centre piece that says position two, if the wheel won't engage give the centre holder a quarter of a turn and try again, it worked for me.

    I didn't know how to use this system and the only option I had was disable the whole system.
    Now I don't find instructions to asamble the inside plastic system again.
    Some Web with pictures please?

    Does anyone know how to get the cable to retract back into the handle after pulling the wheel up? My cable remains fully extended. Like the spring retracting mechanism is locked.

      I just find myself in having similar problem today.Its like the cable underneath disappeared,did u manage to fine yours and how?

    • @johnwatson4801
      @johnwatson4801 2 года назад

      @@oomrah9748 yes I just tapped the handle a few times with something like the handle of a screwdriver. It seems like the mechanism jams sometimes and needs some encouragement. If you can't find the cable, it may have fully retracted into the handle. You might only see the bit on the end sticking out of the handle. Just a guess.

    i have a slightly newer clio and one of the four wheel bolts is different. How do i get that one loose?

    • @HaynesManuals
      @HaynesManuals  Год назад

      There should be a locking wheel bolt adapter supplied with the vehicle. Normally in the toolkit.

    I've tightened the white plastic retainer when I finished, but my spare wheel is not fully tightened under my car. It sits a little bit loose .. is this normal ?

      I'm now experiencing this same problem, where the spare rocks around underneath a bit when everything's tightened. Did you find a solution or is your spare still gently rocking away?

      Ashley Morgan Anderson hi I managed to fix it, the plate that you put
      On the tier the bit that you attach the cable
      To had to be positioned a certain way with a spike bit poking out towards you as you pull the tier back into place! Hope this helps

      @@AshleyMorganAnderson Not tried this yet myself, as only just got the wheel off, but it could be worth putting the jack under the wheel to get it fully tight and in position, then tighten it with the plastic thing inside the car, this may do the trick.
