if you go on a ttc bus then you just need to tap when you get on the bus but if you go on a GO bus (the green one) then you need to tap when you get on and when you get off because you don't want to pay 50 bucks like I did
Hi there, for all participating local transit systems such as TTC, MiWay (Mississauga Transit), YRT, Brampton Transit and DRT you only need to tap in when or prior to boarding as these charge a single flat fare. For GO Transit and Union Pearson Express you do need to tap on when or prior to boarding and tap off when exiting as both of these transit systems charge their fares by the distance of travel.
Only tap in unless you’re on a GO bus or GO train then tap in and off. If you’re on the TTC and left the boundaries of the city of Toronto (slightly north of steeles I think doesn’t count unless the bus route travels further north then I am not sure) then you have to tap off because the city did not agree to have their taxpayers to pay for that. Don’t worry though that TTC thing doesn’t exist anymore as the new march 2024 map (latest map available) does not have it included.
Informative...Thanks
Thank you very much!
Bro when i tapped it said activate card online…. But when i try do that…… it said the card is already active… what should i do?
Please load the card and try again..
@@KLMomof2 The lady on the shoppers drug mart didnt actually activated my card. I had to go there back. That was crazy 🫠
Do you have to tap the card before you exit the bus? Or just tap the 1 time when you board the bus?
