I work at Trader Joe’s and it’s ones of my favorite products. They are products straight from a pastry vendor from France and flash frozen. Shipped and then packaged here in the US. SO GOOD. Every description is how I love to describe it. 🤤
I’m a trained chef, working with puff pastry or croissant dough is sometimes difficult with arthritis, but I still want a “pan au chocolate “ or chocolate croissant sometimes and this is an excellent product.
But you can buy sheets of puff pastry ready made
@@phonotical Which I also have in my freezer and use regularly. The Chocolate Croissants are great to have on hand if I crave only one and don’t feel like making them.

i discovered these recently and really been enjoying them! sometimes I put the croissants out before I go to bed, and my roommate, who wakes up before me, bakes them for us!
Emmy, I'm binging your videos while recovering from surgery and they're bringing me such comfort and joy. Your sheer love for food radiates such palpable, potent happiness, thank you for creating!
Take care!
🙏🏻
Hoping for a swift recovery to you! I did the same thing two and a half years ago! I hope she realizes what a joy she is to her community. 🥰
Well why didn’t you heat up the bakery one in the microwave - it’s not a fair comparison
We tried the double chocolate ones recently, if you're a fan of chocolate they are a must try.
How can you compare the cold croissant from the bakery against its fresh-from-the-oven counterpart? Any warm baked good is going to win against cold competition.
My son's dad lives an hr from us but there's a Trader Joe's just down the road from his house so we go on Sunday nights after I pick him up. Our absolute favorite items 1. The frozen pork gyozs, I follow the instructions crisping the bottom then steaming but then I add a bit of sesame oil to the pan & get them crispy on all sides. When I make them I don't even bother making less than 2 bags because my child is a preteen & has a hollow leg & because I know my neighbors love them so my son delivers some to the neighbors before we sit down to enjoy them. 2. their orange chicken but I finish it under the broiler to get those crispy edges 3. the chocolate & lemon rolled wafer batons, the lemon especially but they are super addicting & only like $2 a tin which is insane considering the quality is incredible. We love their store brand cheese sticks as well & they have incredible coffee that you can grind yourself or they'll do it. The store we go to never kicks anyone out if they're still shopping after closing hours, they know we live an hour away so are especially nice & I also love that if you have an EBT card they never charge you for bags.
Thank you so much for this, baby! Im going to try all these lol.
Dont be at the store after closing. Its annoying and really unfair to the staff, they have lives too
How nice of your son to share with the neighbors!
The Trader Joe's ones look delightful. Was wondering why you didn't warm up the one from the bakery.
The almond croissants are even better from TJ’s! I feel like this is one of their best hidden gems!
The almond ones really are fantastic! I always keep a box of two of each kind in my freezer.
The cream cheese ones are incredible, too, with a little powdered sugar dusted on them after baking! 🤤
These are so good! The almond ones are delicious too!
I like the almond croissants more 😋
Came here to say the almond ones are even better 😂
I work for TJs so I'm biased but I'm obsessed with these snd have them frequently. One tip, fresh out of the oven, cut it almost in half and put a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and some fresh berries and eat it like a sandwich. Game changer
Just a suggestion: You could have warmed the bakery-bought croissant prior to taste-testing; it would have been a closer side-by-side comparison with the fresh-baked TJ's.
I came here to say the exact same thing. It wasn't really a fair comparison to me.
Because of your Trader Joe's chantilly cream vanilla bean cake video I went and got one and was amazed. I loved it so much I brought it to our store Christmas party and it was a big hit. People couldn't stop talking about it. Trader Joe's is hands down one of my favorite stores.😊
I got one after that video too and it was great!
The chocolate one is even better! I tried both.
The almond ones are delightful too, for those of us that aren't particularly into chocolate! They also had a spell of carrying kouign-amanns in this exact same format, but I think they may have stopped carrying those? They weren't big sellers when they came out since people weren't familiar with them, but they were sooooooo stinking good.
@emmymade
yYou can take your already baked croissants and reheat/recrisp in your toaster oven about 5-7 minutes @350. They turn out like just baked; the inside gets steamy and tender and the outside gets an amazing crispness.
Happiest holidays Emmy! To you and to your family. I remember watching your first videos and I’m happy that we’re
Both still watching and creating
Thank you! And happy, happy holidays to you!
I’ll have to try these. Thanks Emmy! It’s been so long since I last tuned in to your channel, gotta check in more often.
Please, do. Easily one of the best things at Trader Joe's and welcome back!
Yum!! These look so fluffy! Perfect for the cold weather :))
I haven't tried air frying them, but I imagine it would work at a lower temperature and less time, maybe?

Merry Christmas to you and your family, Emmy!
We love watching Emmy. You just have a sublime style.
Blessings to all.
Thank you Emmy!! I have been struggling a bit with my holiday menu. These are a perfect addition!! YES!! I love a chocolate croissant. I had one from SBucks a couple years ago for my first one. It was good at the time, but I've had several since that blew it away lol. This looks incredible!!!! Love your channel!!!!
Emmy makes me want to go out and buy everything she tastes!! The way she’s talks about the food!! I love it!!!
i was addicted to these last year it was seriously better than any other chocolate croissant i’ve ever had 😭😭
I get these every time I have company on the weekend for a Sunday breakfast treat. They also have almond croissants filled with almond paste which are also quite good. So easy to prepare and always impress my guests! I love TJs.❤
Sunday's are for chocolate. Aldi needs these! Thanks, Emmy ❣️
Hey beautiful Emmy..it's always a pleasure catching your videos 💛
Aww...thanks. 🧡
I DID IT!! I’ve been on a journey to watch and like every single Emmy video and I am now currently up to date! And let me tell you when I started this challenge I didn’t know she’s been making videos for like thirteen years 😂 but it’s been fun
They have almond croissants as well. Delish! I would love for them to do pistachio
The almond are my weakness! I love them!
The almond ones are my favorite
My family had been eating these almost every other Christmas morning for the past 20 years, we love them so much
The almond ones are also amazing.
It's always a little spark of joy to hear one of my all time favorite RUclips foodies mention one of my other RUclips foodie favorites! Claire Saffitz is a joy and such a good teacher!
One of my favorites! Also love the almond
Running to TJs to get these tomorrow. Thanks Emmy!
Ok who else loves Emmys videos to play while you fall asleep! Her voice is so soothing, knocks me out every night! Wondering if its just me? Thanks Emmy for the great videos! She is by far my favorite youtuber!
The Trader Joe ones looks amazing! I’ll have to look for them next time I’m there. Thank you Emmy! Have you tried to air fry them? I don’t have an oven right now.
Did it. You have to lower the temperature on the air fryer versus the oven and shorten the time. After the first blackened croissant leaning curve, I use the air fryer all the time for it now. About 320 for something around 12 minutes - your nose will know when it is ready.
Her toaster oven is basically an air fryer too it's the breville smart oven. It's convection baking
@@asigwalt6098 thank you so much! I’m looking into getting a countertop oven but I don’t quite have the money yet and haven’t settled on which model. I’m so excited to try these though. They look amazing. 🤤
We had these AND the almond ones for breakfast thanks to you; after I saw your video I had to go get us some 😅 my favorite part about making these is the way they make your house smell while baking… like a French patisserie!! Heavenly!!
Tried the chocolate chip Pain Au Lait and they are delicious. Can only imagine these are even better ❤
I feel like maybe she tried those. Not totally sure tho.
Love you Emmy!!
🧡
I bought these a couple weeks ago. And was totally confused how to prepare them. Thanks for the video!!
bless you! great merrymerry breakfast
Idk why I always watch these before bed. Sooooooo delicious looking!!!
Emmy always brings the sun!

I’ve had these before and they’re every thing she says and more. Delicious!
These are so good! The almond ones are delicious too!. These are so good! The almond ones are delicious too!.
I bake those for my family every weekend.
Mmm....lucky fam! 😆
I looooove the Joes content, more pls
Trader Joe's needs to expand into Canada. 😊🍁

Presidents choice just came out with frozen croissants and pain au chocolate. Also amazing. Best I’ve had since living in France
@@tetramercesthat is true, they exist yes but i got to trying them for myself
Loved it, "Let cool 10 min, good luck with that!" LOL true and too funny.
We have been buying these for years. They're a favorite for holiday mornings when we want something a little special and decadent. The almond ones are also incredible. I highly recommend them!
I always have the TJs almond croissants on hand when I have company visiting
Nice review. I have the opportunity to get freshly baked croissants from a bakery. They do not make it all the way home though. I usually enjoy them with some coffee on the tailgate of my station wagon. The outdoors add to the experience. The frozen croissants are a nice thing. Having the option to have them for a sunday morning breakfast would be totally worth it.
We tried those on New Year’s Day, OMG they were good.
Yep, those are my go-to for a special occasion, such as my birthday. I have a box in my freezer right now, and I’ll let them rise over night New Years Eve and bake them NY morning to enjoy while we watch the Pasadena Rose Parade on TV. Nom nom nom 😋
Happy Holidays and Many More 😋🍽
I'm a big fan of pan au chocolat (chocolate croissants) I might have to try these. I used to work next to a Panera and I stopped in to get them there often.
They’re the best. We love them. It’s worth the wait to let them rise!
The almond ones are delicious too!
They also have almond, plain and my personal favorite DOUBLE chocolate which is chocolate pastry filled with chocolate, incroyable!
Yep! Good luck with that! Who can wait on fresh baked goodies.
gw Hi
TJs used to also have queen aman pastry similar to these that were heavenly with coffee! Unfortunately they went away😢
Ah, man. Kouign-aman are my favorite!
@@emmymade Try them from Chez Nibs ( formally lesmadeline)SaltLakeCity Utah. Her Romanian touch makes them utterly amazing. Hope you can try them, life changing!😍✌️🤙
Years ago, Trader Joe’s used to have the frozen kouign amann dough and I used to always get them. They baked up beautifully and rivaled any patisserie’s kouign amann. Unfortunately, when I couldn’t find them at ANY Trader Joe’s in SoCal, I was told their supplier stopped supplying the kouign amann dough. I was bummed but I still look in TJ’s frozen section just in case they return!
I just love your input. I'm going to make up some "Short Bread Cookies." 😋😋 Any suggestions for the best cookies?? 😊
If your in Australia and wishing we had this.. we do in coles brand ☺️
they are in the freezer area in a bag i think there are 7 in there for $7ish from memory 🎉
❤ Simply Delicious ❤. The food looks good too 😋....
I tried an experiment with my starter-based multi-purpose dough (it makes everything from cinnamon rolls to pizza): I was able to laminate the dough and make “fauxssants”. It was a very yummy experiment!
What timing - I just bought Trader Joe’s both the chocolate and the minis today. I’m so excited to make them for Xmas morning.
Carolyn Hi
Yes these are so yummy!
Chef hack: cut the bread upside-down, it helps to keep the bread from squishing.
The almond ones are my favorite
TJ’s frozen almond croissants are amazing. Worth every penny!
my husband always get those and a box of the almond croissants. both are yummy
I used to drive almost 100 miles a couple of times a year to stock up on my favorite Trader Joe's products including the frozen croissants, and finally - after years of thousands of people begging - they opened a store in our city. So many amazing products - you can't beat their Pounder Plus chocolate bars for both taste and value - and there's always something new to try. The frozen almond croissants are pretty good too, and now they have chocolate croissants with chocolate dough, but I didn't notice much of a difference in flavor between them and the original ones.
The only thing I don't care for is their fresh baked goods - the breads are too dry, and I've yet to be bowled over by anything, including the chantilly cream vanilla bean cake that so many raved about. Probably because I'm an outstanding baker myself - or so people tell me!
I buy the baked ones at the walmart bakery. Ww are rural, it's the only place. I think it should have more chocolate too. I also love the spinach, & feta cheese filling ones.
I love these beautiful lil loafs 😋
SO cute. 🥹
My best friends daughter has worked at the local Trader Joe's for 25 years and now it the manager . She looks so cute in the blue Hawaiian shirt. 😊.You look so happy eating the Trader Joe's chocolate croissant😊
We have some new frozen ones here in Canada that are a store brand (PC from Superstore or equivalent) that are also raw but somehow you only have to leave them out for 20 minutes and they bake beautifully?
We always used to ask the bakery for their frozen uncooked ones that they bake in store for Christmas morning but we'd always proof them overnight and they'd inevitably over proof. So we're going the easy package 20 minute thaw and bake this year
I dont think I could move somewhere without a Trader Joes, it saves so much money and you can trust pretty much everything because all the items are curated to be both good and inexpensive. They have also not participated in inflation as much as the giant factory brands at regular grocery stores that control the shelves, making their already cheap prices even cheaper by comparison. My favorite item right now is the $1.79 fresh pizza dough and low moisture whole milk mozzarella, after some practice with stretching the dough the pizzas come out amazing and cost next to nothing.
Not to mention the Seven Stars one is probably $5 going by the price of the ginger scones (my favorite baked good from Sevdn Stars). We got chocolate croissants from Coffee Depot in Warren last week and they were $5. I would say it’s because they’re labor intensive but we spent almost as much on a raspberry shortbread square. Still, I do like supporting local businesses and Coffee Depot is displaying my son’s paintings all December. That said, I’m definitely grabbing some TJ’s croissants soon.
my fam loves these on the weekends.
but they're not new at all, they've been around for years, we've been getting them at least a decade or more.
I think this is very close (If not it?) to what we call "napolitanas" in Spain. It's interesting, I knew they called the ones filled with chocolate pan au chocolat in France, but I had no idea they were considered croissants, especially outside of France. To me a croissant always calls to mind something with that "horn" shape and a lighter dough. I personally find the chocolate ones a tad too sweet, so I prefer the savory ones since I find they usually have a nice balance between the soft but salty filling and the sweet yet slightly sour, crispy pastry.
Caribou coffee shops has the choc croissants which they heat up. Really good with their coffee.
Very impressive. Great in a pinch!
Here for it as always👍
The almond ones are good too
I so wish TJ's would come to Canada.
You’re the reason I bought these earlier today
My mother in law would buy these and they are delicious!
The things I'd do for the almond ones 😩🙌🏽👏🏽
Oh my goodness! I became obsessed with croissants after visiting seven stars bakery in Providence. I had a chocolate almond croissant and it is something I would go out of my way to travel for. I make a fake version using Sam's club croissants with homemade almond paste and dark chocolate in the air fryer.
I will be going to Trader Joe's ASAP to get these!
The Trader Joe’s one even looked better, especially since you added the egg! Looks amazing! Can’t wait to go to TJ’s and get a box!
You could also cook the scrambled egg so you have protein with the croissant.
I love them but like the almond ones the best.
I have been buying these for years and they're fantastic. They're better than the local bakery.
Puff pastry doesn't bother me in the way that some denser wheat products do. Perhaps see if sourdough products seem to bother you less? Because they don't bother me as much and let me have an occasional sandwich or piece of toast.
I love these.
„ Good luck with that“ saved my day. 😂
I'm headed to TJ's tomorrow morning 😊
Planning my trip to Trader Joe's right now!
L'd love to go to an Aldi's North, but they don't have any in my quarter of south florida.
Oh Emmy, you should have had a cup of coffee ☕️ to go with that.
