You cleared up a huge mystery for me! My mother was a native speaker (and I'm now trying to learn a little online) was always saying things with the word "diabhal"in it and I was always wondering why the word "devil" was in so many of her expressions. 😅
Could you use "conas atá an aimsir" for how is the weather too? "Faoi láthair" is a good phrase i use regularly meaning "at the moment" Nílim ag dhéanamh aon rud faoi láthair. I am not doing anything at the moment. Please correct me if I'm wrong on anything. Go raibh míle maith agat Molly.

Yes you can use conas too 😊 great sentence 😁 the only thing I notice is that there wouldn’t be séimhiú on déanamh - just ‘ag déanamh’ 👍🏻
Grma Molly. Is there a difference between 'caidé' and 'cad é" (which is how I learned it)?

Hi John, pronunciation wise - no. Caidé - is more dialectal and represents the way that it is said in Ulster better. Cad é - is the official spelling :) hope that make sense!

Arracht, Foscadh, Black 47. Type in ‘gearrscannán’ on RUclips to find a ton of short films as Gaeilge 😁

The video is good, but you don’t let the Gaelic words stay long on the screen long for someone to write the words down . Be blessed.
