When I go to RAF Firbeck and ride through the farmers fields, apologies for the metallic ticking noise, this was the microphone shaking either on my jacket or in the connector

What is often called The Buttercross isn't a Buttercross but a Praying Cross, Braithwell and Tickhill have a royal charter to have a Buttercross but Maltby never did. The original location of the Praying Cross was near the pedestrian crossing on Blyth Road / Rotherham Rd junction and was relocated around 1929 when the new road was built. Good video 🙂

There was an Air museum at Firbeck many years ago. I think some of the exhibits went to Doncaster Air museum.

Thanks Andy, I never knew that. There doesn't seem to be much written about it, I mean it's not out there, ya know like people mentioning it.

There’s a nice new one in Clifton park, a SATOR square, outside the new building opposite the old Roman ruins from Templeborough near the museum. Unfortunately the date info on the accompanying plaque is incorrect and understates the age of the park or something if memory serves. And there was talk of a police memorial plaque being installed at Swinton to commemorate the killing on duty of a PC Kew in 1900. Dunno if this is in situ (Kew Court)?
