Listening to the different Bob Dylan Concerts throughout his career is cool. He had a period when he was rocking out on every song. Now mellowed since the late 90s. I like the country flavor he adds. I like also hearing how he changes songs to sound nothing like the original. Been listening to concerts on RUclips from the 70s to now. Primarily since his 1974 tour with The Band. The guy can easily play a hall and a theater just as well as an arena and stadium.. The big difference to me between his concerts between 1988 and 1999 and the last few years since 2010 is that he mellowed out. More soft rock and country flavor. Also enjoy that he is not just stuck on the four big songs all the time and has concerts without them sometimes. That being Like A Rolling Stone, Blowing In The Wind, All Along The Watchtower and Knocking on Heaven's Door. In this one only Blowing In The Wind was performed in the encore. He has a lot of songs he could do. I like his stuff from all periods. I also like that he rotates personnel. And so each tour is something different. Well since 1988 it is just one big Never Ending Tour but you get the point. I saw him Twice only in person in 1992 at 14 and in 1999 at 21. I'm used to his voice. Been listening to him 32 years. I was eight years old 32 years ago. I missed him the last time he passed this way in 2015. Hate to say it but he is old enough that when he began in 1962 Mom was eight. One of my Aunt's was not born. She was born in 1966.
You're not exactly right about anything because you've listened to 50 shows on RUclips. Or even seen 50 shows yourself. He's never totally rocked out on any leg that you could name. Some of the personnel moves were NOT totally Bob's idea. Not playing guitar, or not wanting to play guitar, or not being able to play guitar to his own standards has been going since October-November of 2002. If you think Time Out of Mind is all rockers than you have a different definition of whatever that is supposed to mean. Dylan would laugh at us discussing him like this.. if he even cared for a minute. He is musicology at its height as per this pre-pandemic show. I mean.. Things Have Changed is a nice metaphor. The "mellow" simplified version he's been doing since 2009-10 is hardly better than the "acoustic" original on that movie soundtrack. Not better than the mega electric versions he put down with Charlie, Larry, Tony, and Kemper at the first. Dylan over so many years, has asked his audiences to come along for the ride. Duquesne Whistle here is a rocker and it isn't. The piano player Bob has a different approach than the guitar player Dylan who was especially "thematic and almost experimental" when he was in between Campbell and Sexton from 1999 to 2002. Things do change. Just be glad for yourself that you can appreciate this "change in things" more than I can. He is the greatest American songwriter.. not just because of his own innovations.. but because of his appreciation of what came before him. THE MORE I TAKE THE MORE I GIVE.. THE MORE I DIE THE MORE I LIVE. The song Pay In Blood has that beginning hook that's a direct rip from the Flying Burrito Brothers.. Hot Burrito #2 maybe. And he expands on it to everybody's credit. And Chris Hillman isn't complaining. None of us should. He's heading out to meet the other greats in the Ether as per the last 3 pages of Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse. The magic theatre. Maybe you could write the proper screenplay now that the proper technology exists. With Dylan in your updated take. Or maybe don't. TELL HER SHE CAN LOOK ME UP.. IF SHE'S STILL GOT THE TIME. Or from the Roseland shows in 1994.. IF I'M STILL ON HER MIND. What artist ever changes the lyrics of classics.. and throws in unexpected harp parts. Dylan does what he can still do.. he refuses to fail by trying to do again and again what he admits he no longer can do. What an artist.. with an actual check on his ego.
Special sphere always on Dylans’ Japan tours.. He choses certain nostalgic or Love songs a lot... Superb🌹🌺 Thank you 123456..eh 0003778🧐🌺 ALL Musicmen🌹❤️🌺🌷🌞👌
