- Sergei Bobrovsky had an unreal Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final stopping 32 shots to lead the Panthers past the Oilers Saturday night. TSN's NHL panel debates if Florida's win was all on Bobrovsky's outstanding performance, or missed chances from Edmonton.

Nonsense. The Oilers were forechecked to death, and played little defense. Bob was incredibly sharp, but 3-0 is very indicative of the way the Panthers beat teams. They have been doing this all year

The local channel in Miami WPLG (channel 10) had THE WORST post game coverage. There were so lame they didn't even carry one, I mean not one, post game press conference. Also, the post game covering by ESPN Sports Center was abysmal! Complete garbage!

Skinner takes a lot of heat...sometimes justifiably so. This game was not on him. Nurse-Ceci were just awful together and lost the game for their team. Another -2 game like that and Nurse will set a long standing playoff record...for most minuses in the playoffs.

Getting "goalied" is a convenient excuse. Edmonton got Nurse - Ceci'd. Skinner had no chance on those two goals because Nurse and Ceci are dreadful together...otherwise this is likely a scoreless tie going into OT. Yes Bob >>>> than Skinner, but Bob didn't score a single goal.

Great interviews by Hyman, Skinner, McDavid and Knoblauch IMO. Their responses were honest and reflective of the result of Game 1, and now the Series continues wth new strategies and more composure. I was jittery, as a Canadian viewer, and one can only imagine how the players were feeling. That being said, let’s ride this one out with both optimism and encouragement, just in case any Oilers read these comments🤷🏻♀️
The problem is that the Oilers are basically the Maple leafs, just switching Matthews, Nylander and Marner for McDavid, Nuge and Draisaitl. The Oilers top 3 have so much more heart than the Leafs and this is coming from a lifelong leafs fan lol the rest of the lineups are pretty much the same, spotty defense and a goalie who is not up to par against the opposing team. If Toronto had the Oilers top 3 they'd be likely in the finals too. As much as I'd love to see McDavid win and the cup come home to Canada, as I've said since the midway point of the season, the Panthers are built to win Lord Stanley's cup.

Oil played better as a team by far. Faster, move puck movement, more creativity. Bob stole this one but that will wear down a goalie fast if the Panthers cant keep up in game 2.

Panthers looked sloppy early in this game. They settled in after the Rodrigues goal.
Oilers looked solid but weren’t opportunistic. They had chances to break it wide open and missed.
Both teams did great job of wiping away rebound chances.
Oilers look big in comparison to anyone else Panthers have played. But, panthers keyed in on the Nurse - Cici line. Keep an eye on them.
Expecting Oilers to come out strong in game 2, but panthers have played them and can scheme. Game 2 will be a dogfight.

The media acting like Florida isn't a good team. Just brainwashing everyone into thinking Edmonton is this powerhouse which is not true at all. You can't have 5 players with 30+ points and think you are gonna win everytime. There's at least 10+ players with 9+ points with Florida. Edmonton starts off fast in the 1st, plays okay in the second and falls off in the 3rd. Florida is the opposite. You always play hard in the 3rd. If Edmonton wants to win, they need to spread out the energy used across all periods and not just the 1st and some of the 2nd. And use the most energy in the 3rd. Cause the 3rd is where it counts.
Florida didn't play their best in the first 2 periods. They finally tightened up in the 3rd period. I think Florida will be even better in game 2. Bob's confidence is high after game 1 as well, so that will bode well for him going into game 2. The Oilers are slippery and can score in a hurry, so Panthers need to stay on point on D!
From a biased Canadian media as usual, Panthers shut down the Oilers in getting any clear shots, as they always do to their opponents. Give credit where credit is due, and get off your unearned egos.

My team is out, Bob saved the Panthers arses, If the Panthers play their game , its lights out for the Oilers. The Panthers took to many Penalties, breakaways and just not how they played against BOS and Rags. They need to keep out of the penalty box and tighten up the D like they did previous rounds. Both teams will adjust but the Panthers are relentless, big and can shut you down, too boot they have a goalie that's peaked at the right time.
Everyone talks about Nurse, and yes there’s capability, but no one talks about Kane letting his check go on the second goal!

Exhausted? lol You have not watched the Panthers. Notice the amount of hits. This is exactly how they shut down the Bolts, Bruins, and Rangers. The relentless forecheck suffocates the opponent. Star players don't like to get hit and then start to avoid it. Kucherov, Panstranak and the bread man all got shut down. McDavid and co will get frustrated like they were tonight. Barkov is relentless. EDM will learn the hard way through this series.

Florida scored 3 goals, not 1. Oettinger was far from exhausted. Florida has 16 takeaways vs Oilers 4, they out hit the Oilers 65-34. They blocked 12 shots to the Oilers 5.
The only thing that Edm did was outshoot Florida, Edmonton failed in every other facet of the game except shots on goal.

One of Panthers’ few poor habits is not really starting to play their game until either other team has scored or it’s 3rd period. Bob and Panthers rarely give up more than 2-3 goals in these playoffs. Keep dreaming that Oilers could score that many against them.

You do realize that Florida didn't play like they normally do, it was a down game with the exception of Sergei "The Machine" Bobrovsky right? Sorry but if this series goes long, the Oiler stand no chance as they will all be beat up by game 6 and 7. 63 to 35 hits alone in game 1.

I am glad Colorado and the Stars are out, to me it doesn't matter who wins although Oilers already have cups from the past and FLA is who i am rooting for but then again, McDavid should get at least 1 cup before he retires. I just hope for a good series, 5 game in favor of FLA or a sweep.

I've never seen a goalie have such an up and down career. Most hall of fame goalies have been great throughout their careers,but Bob has had years he's been fantastic, and years he's been very poor.
