If anyone reads this at this late date, would consider redo this video that has the sitter as large as the drawing. I enjoyed watch the artist but I would have like to have really seen a stronger comparison with reality and his value choices. Great video for any new pastel and older pastel artists. If I was still teaching I would have my student watch this in the real time speed, it has a magic !

Great demo. Lots of really good information. I see the nose as very red, compared to the rest. Is that so? Is is going to be toned down?

Will you blend the abstract edges on the face? If not that’s OK but how would you do it if you’re not gonna do it on this portrait.? I guess I’m asking if you were doing a different portrait that you would do blending on what would you use?

I have a stupid question... last year I painted a dog and used a black for shading his coat. And charcoal in other parts. When photoing it, the darks looked green. What is up with that?

I’ve watched many demonstration and instructional videos .
I appreciate that I can see the model .
    But the image is small.
Perhaps, before the work begins, we might see a close up of the model that we can take a screenshot of.
Please, what are you looking at as you work?
    An image, a live model?
Without clearly seeing the reference, this video has limited value to the viewer.
