You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Great concept! Most videos for this saw add only an outfeed table. It's biggest limitation IMHO, is the short infeed. You have addressed this problem creatively and with something that looks easy to make. Thank you for providing plans! I plan to make a modified version that is removable due to very limited shop space. Maybe use knobs to screw it to the side or something like that. I liked the original composition music, too.
I made this, and it worked out perfectly! I am now using my table saw WAY more often because it’s safer and it’s easier to get accurate cuts now. This is the table saw I have - exact same model. It was very difficult to get bigger boards lined up and started with such a short front. So glad I found this!
This is exactly what I need for my table saw. It's by far the best one I've seen. Your website appears to be having problems as I can not get to it to download the plans. Can you add them to the video description, send them to me, or have someone look at your website? Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing this idea. I have this model so was elated since the infeed length is short and longer pieces tend to be difficult to stabilize because of this... it is an issue. However since I made a cart for mine out of wood, I'm going to find a way to attach this to the sides of the cart rather than to the table saw itself. Ingenious plan! Great skill and attention to detail.
Looks great! Thanks for the video! This gives me an idea for my Dewalt I think I can just build the front and side portion of your build since I have out feed support but an in desperate need of in feed support. Thanks again. Great job!
Hey there, I love the thought that went into this. I cam across this video as I've been researching ways to add side extensions with a router table for my Dewalt 7491RS. Have you considered modifying this design so that it's modular to accommodate a longer outfeed table and a side extension with a router table when needed? What I love about your design is that it provides additional anchor points where I think these types of modular components could be added. I'd be very curious to hear your approach for this. The rolling stand with my version gives me some additional mounting points as well. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this type of modification.
This is a brilliant design! Thanks for the vid and plans! I'm thinking where I might mount one of those flappy paddle stop switches, which would be easier to turn on and off in a pinch.
What a great idea, I own this same model table saw, and while I extended the table on the left side, extending it in the front would also be nice. Thanks for the good idea.
Nice build. Did you consider putting a slot for handles on the sides? I have the same saw for about 6 years now, and this is a great idea. I just have to stop and take time to do it now.
that looks great!! i want to make one for my table saw as I have the same model and have the same issue with the small table. I do have a bit of concern about the on/off switch being a bit further recessed and harder to switch though. And I might consider doing an extra support panel on the left hand side which can be mounted on that ply to give it extra reach for cross cuts on long pieces
I was looking for ideas on how to extend my Dewalt table saw on the left side, when I found this vid. I'm considering doing something similar, along with the auxiliary power switch as well. Great build!
I like this idea but I wouldn't want to screw it to the table. I think I'd like to use a cleat system for easy on and off. I don't have the space to store it assembled.
Sir. really like your idea set up and all. Sorry to say to fastand I do understand the editing but feel something this good should be done in rite speed Well done will sub and thumbs up.
OK, I understand the reason behind this project but your analytical mind really put things together! Who knew you and "B" were such brainiacs? All you have to do now is sell it the the DeWalt folks! I see $$ in this great item in kit form!
I love this build and am considering modifying the plans for my skilsaw jobsite saw. I'm curious how you go about adjusting the fence for rip cuts smaller than the width of the extension table, i.e., when you cannot use the table itself to adjust the distance of the fence from the saw. It seems to me, from the video, that the locking clamp for the fence would get caught against the added front extension and therefore not be able to operate within the width of the table itself.
Trampas Thompson I made this, and you can totally move the fence in as close to the blade as it was designed to do. The 2x2.5 sections cut out of the side pieces accommodate it without any problems. Today I ripped a board to 3 inches width against the fence, for example. Keep in mind it’s designed for this particular make/model of saw.
I have a similar saw and would love to add this extension. I downloaded the plan. I am, however, a relative newcomer to woodworking and don't quite understand how to build the jig to cut the divots for the side flanges, and it was not a part of the plan. Could you possibly explain how to make this jig? That would be great. This is a great build. Thanks, and keep up the stellar work!
get small board. mark out dimensional size of hole. Drill hole. Use chisel to square corners. Use router with pattern follow bit to follow pattern of hole on wood.... Or just do the first part on the actual work piece it will just have rectangle holes in the sides
Thanks for the input. I figured it out and am now almost done with the extension. I'll be putting it onto the saw today or tomorrow. I'm excited to start using it. It will definitely make table saw use much easier. Again, thanks!
I just purchased the Dewalt cordless and was thrown back by the single miter t slot on the top. Is there a possibility of still applying your technique to a single slotted top?
Great video! The link to your website doesn't work for me. I get a message stating there is an internal error possibly with the server. Any help or suggestions?

This is what I am looking for! Thank you very much!
I've been looking for a solution to the small table top footprint(infeed) of my jobsite table saw... found! Clever, thanks.

My RC Experience can you send a photo if you did it
Please send a photo for extending the left panel on the saw for cross cut sleds
That’s dope. Nice track. I think you might be onto something.

You could attach an auxiliary switch to the front of the saw extension to make it easier to turn the saw on and off.

i have the same saw and have been looking for a good plan to expand the table. Thanks!
Awesome!
i made this for my saw and added a shop vac attachment between the saw and the extension to catch all the dust that it throws back at me.
and countersunk the screws on the left side so i can add an extension wing later
Awesome!!!
I plan on building a table for this saw and may use these plans as a base. Do you have plans for the sled as well?
Excellent! Will these dimensions work for the 7485 or should I plan to adapt them?
I like this idea but I wouldn't want to screw it to the table. I think I'd like to use a cleat system for easy on and off. I don't have the space to store it assembled.
I'm curious if you'd still do things the same if you had to do them again today.
This was very helpful, however I was looking for the plans and clicked the link but no plans???
Added width might be nice too. Gonna modify that way.

Sir. really like your idea set up and all. Sorry to say to fastand I do understand the editing but feel something this good should be done in rite speed Well done will sub and thumbs up.
I have a dewalt and the distance from the front of the table to the blade is too short and does not give you room to get sleds and such lined up well.
OK, I understand the reason behind this project but your analytical mind really put things together! Who knew you and "B" were such brainiacs? All you have to do now is sell it the the DeWalt folks! I see $$ in this great item in kit form!
Nice I like that👍
thanks for sharing,,,,great idea !!!!!!!!!

Any chance you can upload plans for the sled as well? I love the extension and plan to build one myself.
May do this to my 7491RS, if I'm not too Chicken to drill into the table.
LOL. Same here.
Anyway to extend the rip capacity?
What's the make of you band saw? looks pretty good and portable.

Great vid! Any reason you wouldn’t/couldn’t use bolts to attach and maybe not have to thread those holes?
Bolt holes have a bit more slop than threaded holes.
I want one, unable to find the plans on your website. Great job. Graham

What jigs did you make for the notches on the sides? And what tool was used to thread ?
