I loved this a lot as a kid, it's so underrated now.
It’s not but ok
Despite the controversey and inaccuracies, a part of me still loves this movie
Preach, Pocahontas 2 does not exist. This is one of my favorite movies of all time
period! 😂
NGL, I do prefer Rolfe over Smith. Granted, we trade racism for sexism, but at least he treated Pocahontas like a human being from the start. I'm really curious to know how their relationship evolved had they stayed in Jamestown rather than going to England. Rolfe tried so hard for the royals to see Pocahontas as "civilized" that we don't get to see much of his own interactions and feelings about her culture.
I watched Pocahontas 2 out of curiosity, and till this day, I regret it
@@themisadventuresofnaomij girl ur soo beautiful, u remind me of Coco Jones ❤❤❤❤
@@whistleking3407 omggg thank you so much!! ❤️
The pop version of " colors of the wind" sung by Vanessa Williams is so good. When it came to the Disney renaissance they always had R&B stars to sing the pop/R&B versions of the songs.
Yes! I loved that!
Michael Bolton’s “Go the Distance” music Vid/ending song for Hercules is still my favorite one of those
Colors of the Wind is my favorite song from this movie 🍂🍃
Yesss! It’s the best!
29:58 I too like “If I Never Knew You”. But remember, it can be heard on the end credits. In fact, it’s the first song on the end credits
I love the score at the end of the movie. it's called "farewell".
Kokoum had me in a chokehold when I was 7 , that man fine
Sameee 😂
As long as we view this movie as a fairy tale and acknowledge what actually happened, we will be fine.
I like the Pocahontas movie like I enjoy Don Bluth's Anastasia. Both films takes small drops of historical events to paint a completely different tale closer to West Side Story than actual history. The Disney film aged up and altered the characters of Pocahontas and John Smith for the new narrative keeping only small scraps of actual dark story of colonization. While a small step up to the portrayal of the Indigenous people in Peter Pan, perhaps the writers should have been more open to the Powhatan's tribe offers to help create a more culturally and historical accurate film.
You make a valid point!
No parent would allow their children to see those movies if they had been historically accurate. My parents were already overprotective about what I was allowed to watch (no ‘Rugrats’, ‘Caillou’, or ‘Pokémon’).
The songs are definitely 🔥🔥🔥 my favourite part of your reaction 14:52. Beautiful gold 🤣⛏️🪙
This could've easily been a classic if it had been a fantasy film like Moana and Raya rather than historical fiction.
It's not historical
@@dollin971 It uses real people, a real culture, and is set in a real location and time. That constitutes the "historical" part.
@@OpticalSorcerer well then by that logic, I guess Abraham Lincoln was indeed a vampire hunter then...
As far as where Pocahontas stands on my list of Disney Renaissance films, it stands at number 5
I liked the movie as a kid, she was my favourite with Mulan so im sad when i grew up and learned the history, i recomend the dubbed version of native people, hearing native audio while watching the original amimation, i had to sit in silence after it and comprehend all i learned, sorry for any mistakes its not my Mother language
Love your reactions 😊, any chance you could do The little rascals 1994 at some point ? My fav childhood movie
I have a long list so I can't make any promises lol but I do love that movie :)
Pocahontas is hands down my favorite Disney Princess!
Not the point of the video but your hair is absolutely amazing. I love it.
I also like the scripture in beginning 😊
Awww thank you Renee 🥰
Nice reaction and nice dress 😊.
Thank you!! It's actually a shirt lol but thanks 🥰
Could you also do Lilo and Stitch, one of my favs.
I have a long list so I can't make any promises lol but I do love that movie so we'll see :)
1. Love this reaction.
2. It sounds like you could have been the voice of Pocahontas.
3. For some reason I keep wanting to write Francis Drake references. for that, I am sorry.
aww thank you so much!
(Heartbeat 💓 counts)😳
Huh? 😂
@@themisadventuresofnaomij Uh.. sorry. It's just...😖🍅💦🙏🏾
@@johnsantos507 no idea what that means lol
@@themisadventuresofnaomij I'm blushed!😖🍅💦
A lot of indigenous people hate this movie because of the inaccuracies. Don't get me wrong it's def a childhood classic but I think disney should never try adapt any indigenous stories.
I feel you!
And a lot love it because natives are not depicted in it as dumb savages... But I can tell you a lot of lions hate the lion king because of the inaccuracies.

Pocahontas is such a beautiful film. I was 11 years old when I saw this in the theater June 23rd 1995. People take this film way too seriously. It’s a film that helps children understand the importance of bringing cultures together. The animation is beautiful, the music is classic and Pocahontas hands down the most beautiful Disney Princess. If you want to know the true story, read up on it or watch the live action true story of Pocahontas called “The New World”. Irene Bedard, the voice of Pocahontas, has a cameo as her mother. Also Christian Bale, voice of Thomas, plays her second love interest John Rolfe.
"People take this film way too seriously" is not a good argument fyi
