There is another version of this song. A man sings it in a baritone voice (I think). Many, many years ago as a teen I was in bed in the darkness thinking about God and life. Mike Kellogg's radio program "Songs In The Night" was quietly playing on my radio (WCRF in Cleveland, OH}, and I was wondering what it truly meant to give your life to Christ. Then this song (by another artist) came on the radio, and it pushed me right into His very presence. Now 52, I've never been the same since. If any of you know of the version I'm talking about, please reply. I've been searching for it for years. Thank you so much. (PS: And it was NOT Johnny Cash. Trust me.)

And then I got your reply to my request. It took me back to that night so long ago, and all those memories came rushing back again. Omg I’m 62 years old and when I was 11yrs in the 70’s I’m New Orleans my sister now 74 would play it in her record player so much joy and we get teary eye every time we hear this song ….
