Wow! The sound quality is amazing for something that was released in 1962. We sang this song at church last Sunday BTW and it's been stuck in my head ever since.
Great song by John W. Pearson.
Me of my favorite hymn
I heard them many years ago. The first song of the medley is one of my favorite songs. No one dies as wonderful job of singing the song than do they. We knew the gentleman who wrote the song. He was in our home several times (in the 50's).
The author was in our home in the 50's as well. Love that song
One of my favorite songs
Omg I’m 62 years old and when I was 11yrs in the 70’s I’m New Orleans my sister now 74 would play it in her record player so much joy and we get teary eye every time we hear this song …. I never get tired of this rendition
We played this at my mom's memorial service as the finale. That last note really hit it!!
It's broken.
I wish to buy J. W. Peterson hymns tracks to continue singing the.. Blessings
Best rendition of this song.
Heavenly!! So beautiful!
When I was a young boy in Arizona The Hawaiians came several times. My parents had 3 book and music stores: Alpha Omega' so we were able to meet and spend time with them. Later in life my television career included part time freelance at TBN in California. They were guests on the PTL program and I was able to speak again with them. They remembered me and my family, not as a 6'7" man but when I was a 6 year old. HA. They were so special in my life and I am blessed to have met them and again later in life reconnect.
All time favorite, song & writer
Fully agree with commenter below stating "Your voices move me into the presence of the Divine of heaven ... but there's something about that name."
Hi, Reddit!
I love this song very much.
Thank you for posting this beautiful song!
This brings back such happy memories of the little Mission Hall where my family worshipped. I remember singing this when I was very young.
Thanku...praise the Lord God Almighty
Q❤
such a pretty song
Gloriously beautiful. Real Christian music.
No matter how dry and thirsty you find yourself, in Christ Jesus you WILL be joyously refreshed.
You need to take this sloppy mess down or replace it. You bring mockery on Christ by posting these messed up recordings. Please do something about it.
God bless you, this song is the song of Moses❤
This was contemporary Christian music of the 1950s-60s. It had no rock beat, and it had Bible based lyrics. The only problem was that it often sounded like movie themes with complex scores that were impossible for the man in the pew to sing. This then lead to the big sound, again like a Hollywood epic movie with full orchestration. This moved on into the 1970s, and the compromise, though it seemed mild, lead the way to alleged Christian music that was hard rock based and with banal mindless lyrics. The trip to the ungodly circus on the platform of the mega church of today started in about 1954. And, now CCM is 7/11 music. Seven words repeated eleven times. A customer of mine called it "Jesus of Nashville". The sexy voice of the female singer is complimented by the jerk with all the tattoos, in his T shirt, and his ball cap on backwards. Church worship has become a baboon convention. Selah
Love this..
I really love this song. Anybody could have the minus one of this please.
Wow!!
I listened to Haven of Rest when I was young. What a blessing to hear their songs again! Thank you for making them available!!
At my church this song was always song after a prayer! Love it!
I am guessing the man on the far left is Marvin Flinckenger
He is soooooooooooooooooo sweet, my Jesus!
Peaise the Lord!
Before the stars were hung or planets fashioned Before the clay was formed to make a man Christ was the Lamb of God, for sinners offered This was redemption's one and only plan There was no other way a God of love could find To reconcile the world of a lost mankind It took the death of His own Son upon a tree There was no other way but Calvary The wealth of all the world could not redeem us Nor could our feeble works so great a price Our only hope is in the blood of Jesus The blood He shed for us in sacrifice So friend if you would find the way to Heaven If from the guilt of life you would be free Accept the only way by God provided The great redeeming work at Calvary O I must tell the news where'er He leads me Proclaim the Gospel sound both far and near The way, the truth, the life is found in Jesus This is the message all the world must hear
Great words, sung beautifully. Brian Higginson. Northern Ireland.
Thanks for texting lyrics.
Maybe my favorite of all their music…grew up on their ministry at Kansas City Youth For Christ over fifty years ago…
❤❤❤
In the 1970s, Mark and Diane stayed at our house a couple times when visiting OKC. Hearing Mark warming up his voice in the shower is a sound I'll never forget. It rocked the house!
I love this
I'm now 72 years old. I remember shedding tears as I listened to the Hawaiians back in the 70'S. So wonderful!

Your voices move me into the presence of the Divine of heaven ... but there's something about that name.
Where can we get this wonderful album, we used to have it but no more?
I grew up listening to this wonderful song sung by a SATB choir. My father recorded it from the radio many years ago. The words were written by David Livingstone Ives and set to music composed by Gerig. This quarter sang it nicely, and there are other very nice renditions out there as well.
quel beau cantique, il me monte au cœur !
so wonderfool!
