Wonderful Song! Very Beautiful Singing! 1971! What was it about the year 1971 that people really knew how to sing these beautiful songs in such a wonderful way! After about 1975, it has never been the same! 1968-1975 was truly the best years in Christian Music! ......THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!
In the image of God we were made long ago, with the purpose divine, here His glory to show. But we failed Him one day, and like sheep went astray. Thinking not of the cost, we His likeness had lost. But from eternity God had in mind. The work of Calvary the lost to find. From His heaven so broad, Christ came down earth to trod, so that men might live again in the image of God. I'll never comprehend redemption's plan. How Christ could condescend, to die for man. Such a Saviour I'll praise, to the end of my days as I up-ward on-ward trod in the image of God

Dear Sir what a problem to open my e -mails but finally I have learnt to conquer this one too! This is an old-time favorite song of mine. learned to know it in my late -teens -early -twenties! Wow you just brought back some of my best memories. Thank you so much1
Oops that message was intended for "It's Not an Easy Road", but it could fit for this song as well. Today you just name the name with no transformation of character to reflect Christ's image. Well done, ladies and thank you Fred for posting these needed treasures.
Great melody well-performed... "Upon the reality of man, however, He hath focused the radiance of all of His names and attributes, and made it a mirror of His own Self. Alone of all created things man hath been singled out for so great a favour, so enduring a bounty…" ~ Writings of Bahá’u’lláh
I must have been mistaken because I thought it was my piano teacher Jean Bond who composed that song. Anyway I remember looking at the poster cards that Mrs Estab held for us in primary class in the ElCajon Ca SDA church and singing this song. Memories!
John W. Peterson, a songwriter who unlifted Christian music (50s-70s.), wrote about 1200 song items. The theme here is quite wonderful. "... the love of God ... This is the foundation of the world of humanity; this is the image and likeness of God; this is the reality of man; otherwise, he is animal." - Baha'i Quotation
John Peterson had nothing to do with the Bahai religion or faith. He was an evangelical Christian who believed the teachings of the 66 books in the Holy Bible.
Moving... thank you. "Strive thine utmost to become godlike, characterized with His attributes, illumined and merciful, that thou mayest be freed from every bond and become attached at heart to the Kingdom of the incomparable Lord." ~ Baha'i Faith
Francis, John Peterson would have strongly opposed the false teaching of the Bahai faith. He was a man who life was firmly rooted in the 66 books of the Holy Bible. Sola Scriptura - only the Holy Scriptures were the authoritative voice in his life.
@@kuboman Each to his own but Messengers of God as "Krishna, Zoroaster, Buddha, Abraham, Moses, Christ, Muhammad and Baha'u'llah and their promises and covenants... Clearly they are recognized as superior above all men." ~ Abdul-Baha, Baha'i Faith
Francis Mausley - My main point is that you not mistaken John Peterson and this particular song to be in agreement in any way with what the Baha’i Faith teaches. If you were to examine the songwriters faith and the words of this particular song, you would find that it tracks along the lines of the Bible - Old and New Testaments - and focuses on salvation and redemption through Christ alone. As for the goodness of other religions or their founders and leaders, I will leave that to others to discuss and decide. Thank you!
@@kuboman There were Messengers of God before His Holiness Christ and Messengers after Him. The Spiritual Teachings are eternal & the same but God updates outdated Social Teachings.
@@kuboman If you ignore other religions, aren't you afraid you'll miss Christ's Return? "Call out to Zion, O Carmel, and announce the joyful tidings: He that was hidden from mortal eyes is come! His all-conquering sovereignty is manifest; His all-encompassing splendor is revealed. Beware lest thou hesitate or halt. Hasten forth and circumambulate the City of God that hath descended from heaven,..." ~ Baha'u'llah, Baha'i Faith

Dalam peta Allah kita diciptakan
Agar dinyatakan kemuliaan Tuhan
Tapi suatu saat kita t’lah tersesat
Tinggalkan mahkota yang t’lah dib’rikanNya
Tapi Allah telah berencana
Mencari yang sesat di golgota
Dari sorga mulia, Yesus t’lah turunlah
Agar kita kembali dalam peta Allah

so glad to find this site. Always loved the harmonies of these beautiful girls
Gee, this album came out in the 1971 - that's a while back!
+LearnEnglishESL : Yes! And it is too bad that one has to go back that far to get really good trio, duet, and solo singing!
And it cost $1.98. Imagine...
