I’m Mexican and this looks amazing. I can say I’m blessed to live in Detroit. Detroit is so multicultural that I can drive and get Mexican, African, European, Latin American and Asian food in a 10-20 mile radius. Great food also!! I also love how people can come together over food and have some respect for other cultures.

Me too. We came all the way from El Salvador walking through mountain to get the tacos. And they gave us some sneakers with our meals. But we didn't have any shoes

In London there’s an Italian-Indian restaurant fusion. The restaurant owner is Indian who looks so Italian. The restaurant owner is such a upbeat, charismatic and positive dude. Fusion restaurants have such great atmosphere’s!
They look like good dudes and I'm glad they managed to make something for themselves and own their own thing. The fact that they take problematic youth and mentor them as well gives great vibes. Love when people help their community. That's what community is all about. Will definitely check out this truck next time I'm in the area. That quesadilla looked bangin.

Mexican/Spanish rice is a relative to the jollaf rice the moors brought rice to Spain and Paella is Spain's national dish. We just saucing like we Always do in the kitchens

JL ... That all looks GREAT! I'll have to stop and try Afro Taco next time I'm anywhere near Newark. I also grew up in that neighborhood, but probably about 50 years before the Afro Taco guys. I now live a couple of towns away from you.
Since you never lived in Newark, you're not allowed to say the name of Weequahic Park the way they do. You have to pronounce it the way the foreigners do ... Wee-quoy-ic.

Well I tried this spot out today based on your review. I got there around 14:15 hours. I ordered two shrimp & salmon quesadillas and a shrimp and steak bowl. I wanted the fish sandwich as well but that’s no longer on the menu. Bill came to $70!! I was told 25 minutes but my food took 45 minutes. First thing is, food portions don’t match the price. I was disappointed at the tray size. The quesadilla was good but there was nothing about it that could justify the $20 price tag. The special sauce cooked inside the quesadilla is actually barbecue sauce which didn’t taste bad but was disappointing strictly because of the price. It includes a small cup of sour cream and salsa inside the tray with shredded lettuce as a garnish. It wasn’t enough sour cream for me nor was the cup big enough to dip. This is important only because of the price. The bowl was for my wife. Very small portion size for a $30 bowl. She said the salad was delicious but the rice was too salty and the steak was tough. She also says that it seems like they tried to neutralize some of the saltiness of the rice with the barbecue sauce. I hope this helps those people traveling from far to try these businesses out(90 minutes for me). I feel like I was robbed. My expectations were set high because of the price. Save yourself some money and time… go grab a Bowl from Chipotle… it’ll cost less and taste better. I didn’t check the menu, I just ordered something similar to what JL ordered.

Hey yo, mad love to you bro and helping to showcase small businesses. I love that about you and I also really appreciate that you do squeeze in a few episodes showcasing the vegetarian spots. I'm vegan personally, and haven't really traveled much since the pandemic, but like to know of spots that I could hit up if I do travel North. Either way, I sincerely appreciate you including those vegetarian spots because other vloggers who are meat-oriented wouldn't even bother. My thing is .. you don't have to be vegetarian to go to places and get some healthier options. We vegetarians get thrown so much shade it's just unbelievable. But whatever. Thank you for all you do! Listen, DC, MD, VA got some good food spots for sure! I'm in Jersey and go to Baltimore on the regular for vegan food. Me and the Ms. love traveling for food. The Maryland area/DC in particular.
@@Ruffsecs You right bro, especially pertaining to B-More. I have friends up that way that do talk about the vegan spots. But it's an exception to the general rule of our area. I just wish we had more, and I have moved from DC to Central Virginia, so, there's even less now. Don't get me wrong, I can cook, so, my needs get met. But it sure would be nice to be able to go out here and support a business doing vegan food and not have to cook every once in awhile. 🎯 Every time JL drops a video, it just makes me mad for our area 😡😂
