Platinum Angelfish added to the 125! | BIG Planted Aquarium Episode 5

- Today we add our platinum angelfish to the 125 gallon planted aquarium and also take a look at the tank now a few months after setup.
After 2-3 weeks in QT it was time to add our 5 platinum angels, 1 pearl gourami and our empire gudgeon to the 125. Everyone seemed to acclimate well to the new tank and the plants are growing nicely.
Now its time to sit back & relax while the plants grow in fully. Weekly trimming should help but for the most part it will be a waiting game. Waiting for the Monte Carlo to grow in and spread. Waiting for the crypts and stems to grow. It will take time, so stay tuned for updates!
Thanks for watching & supporting the channel!

What kind of rocks are these and can i get some online or petco or petsmart?
Super beautiful man!
A single blood parrot or flame gourami would really pop.
They look awesome in there! What Co2 kit you using?
Tanks looking great Lewis. You're right Angels don't inflict much damage to each other, mine tend to fight mouth to mouth. Are you stocking the tank lightly or have you more fish heading towards the 125.
John Harrand thanks mate. Undecided as of yet. Probably more on the lighter side I think. I have 8 angels in here right now. I’m sure they’ll fill out the tank good in the next few years!👌🏻 thanks for watching & supporting the channel!
They dont do much damage to each other but it's hard to watch the hierarchy work itself out.... I started with 6 blue zebra, two paired up and "she" was a nightmare in my tank. Then another 2 paired up.... all of them gang up our biggest girl. She spends her time hutched up in one spot near a amazon sword plant. I've tried a tank divider but it was a filtration nightmare and collected every particle. I'm ready to sell off the pairs, keep our fav, picked on girl and move onto something else. It's no fun seeing 4 Angel's smashed up against the glass on one side of my pretty tank 😪
Connie Peterson for sure! I’m sure hoping this does not happen to the angels I have. I have a few spare tanks to move fish to if I need...although I certainly hope it doesn’t happen! Thanks for checking this out👍🏻
@@cichlidscape They are so mean! I really wanted to do a big mbuna tank next but dang.... I dont know if I can stomach it 🤣
Connie Peterson oh yeah! Those guys and gals are certainly aggressive! Awesome looking fish though👌🏻
People, I can't understand you anymore !? You are doing scaping and scaping and take much, much, far-too little into account the needs of the fish !!!! The Angelfish needs at least its own maximum height three times so that it can swim up and down this own height once, i.e. 3 x the height of the fish !!!! The angelfish needs shelter and cover, through an aquarium concept that takes this into account and builds it in !!!!!! E.g. a root, a large drift-wood under which the angelfish fits completely underneath as a school, a drift-wood that offers shade and cover, which is covered with shade-giving Congo fern, Java fern, large plants with large overhanging leaves that fish want to be able to shelter , that is a natural need! Since this is not, or not sufficiently, implemented in terms of equipment in the conception of the aquarium, I can only describe the concept as flawed! People, aquascaping is great, without question, but the fish are more than just extras as a means to an end, the fish have their own specific needs that have to be taken into account from the start!!!!!
Then the island scaping with the delimiting bright, icy colors, that's not what blackwater fish like neon, other tetras and angelfish need! Dark colors, drift wood, large plants with overhanging leaves, humic acid and dark ground and dark water, hinted black water !!!!! This is how close-to-nature aquaristics work that takes all of this into account !!!
Don’t think these angelfish have it bad compared to some mate. Think you’re barking up the wrong tree here fella👍🏻 I think a 125 is plenty big enough for angelfish. Overhanging dwarf aquarium Lilly’s were added for that cover. I understand the opinion you have, I just don’t agree with the strength of it. Appreciate you watching though👍🏻
