Considering the guitarist was 15 and bassist was 16 when this was uploaded, we're looking at phenoms for sure. In my opinion, Asterism deserves a lot of recognition and support for their musicianship and the quality of the music they're putting out - mostly consisting of original tunes. They do occasionally bring on a singer when they do cover versions of, say, classic metal/hard rock songs by Judas Priest, Michael Schenker, Loudness, etc. but they are at their core a 3-piece instrumental band. Glad you found some enjoyment out of it.

I'd put the Kami God Band, Kari Band (the entire Kami band's side project outside Babymetal), and LoveBites above Buckethead.

In the past, they would do live streams on FB from the Hard Rock Cafe in Fukuoka. They have even toured in the States, where they had had an early afternoon slot but still gave it 100% plus.
Rie aka suzaku has a mainly instrumental band. An awesome guitarist. Her drummer is another amazing talent.

these young musicians are so sick - where does this amazing work ethic to learn to play like this come from. the japanese are simply killin' it. is it the food - the water? guitarist hal-ca is one of the best young players i've seen. the madness never ends !! on top of that this is one of the best 3 person bands i've ever heard. right up there with cream and the police only harder

Where does it come from? I'd actually go the other way and ask "When the hell did we in the USA LOSE this work ethic?!?" I'll catch smoke for this, but I'll say it. We lost it back in 1992, with one word: Nirvana.
@@athlonen Japanese kids are all required to have an Art major in order to graduate. What we are seeing now are the fruits of that requirement.
@@firstborn174 Oh, believe me, I know. I minored in Music Arts (I'm a classically trained bassoonist/saxophonist/guitarist). I started my training when I was 12. A lot of kids in the US did back in that time, especially when virtuosity was praised. All of that went downhill around 1992, when we traded virtuosity for 3 chord crap, which started our degrading slide. We still haven't totally recovered.

Nice reaction, like to see you appreciate them. They've done some one-off collabs with singers, but honestly, I hope they stay instrumental, there are not enough pure instrumental bands. As others have said, they were only 15,16, and 18 when this was recorded. Long way to go. They have since collaborated with several top names including Buckethead.

Great you discovered this excellent trio. They are on their way, they just signed with Amuse who you may recognize as the same agency as Babymetal. Hopefully they have a good plan for these guys.

@@Dicodec Yes actually the ones that sound really good are 'welcome to inferno vol.MAX' it's a more enclosed venue. I've also seen a video on here where they were playing in Austin,TX at some park. That was killer too..
Raw I think is the right term for this is indeed a band in the making. Raw talent is perhaps a better term. These three extraordinarily talented teenagers are yet, I believe, to come of age but the potential there is enormous. Once they put a little polish to their sound they will be a force to be reckoned with. The talent coming out of Japan is quite frankly staggering.

they have had singers doing a few covers off and on and it actually takes away from them making the killer originals that they have now. you need to embrace the new and the now of what they are doing. do not put your preconceived notions on them and enjoy it for the rock that it is. Plus if bootsy collins and buckethead endorse them as they are you should too!

Asterism calls their music "Battle Metal" and I tell people and they do not believe me that the bassist has more strings than the guitarist and the drummer has less drums than the guitarist has strings.
