Awesome finds and that string of shells is an onuphid polychaete worm tube usually composed of mollusc shell fragments glued together by organic matter...cool find!
Some angry skies, we have the same sort of weather, huge amounts of rain, my pasture is flooded. Love the cute little pieces coral. Hope you have a great day.
Just started watching your videos, and they are awesome! I am amazed at the variety of seashells that you are able to find just walk along the seashore there in Australia. In my trips to Padre Island, Texas my finds are usually pieces of oyster half and pieces, sand dollars and small conch shells. My Dad was able to find larger conch shells at Padre Island diving in 6-8 feet of water.
I believe what you call sand dollars are what we in the US call sea biscuits. A channel I watch in South Carolina went to an island in North Carolina where they had recently done some dredging in the channel. They found tons of fossilized sea biscuits, fist sized! (Salty Reflections)
Darn it, I missed this month's giveaway. My bday is Thursday June 2nd. It would have been awesome to have won a cowrie. Anyway...great finds in this video.
These are fabulous! Restful home for the sea star...heartfelt..and truly faded or not.. any cowry from your finds would be awesome..faded or not!
