Hi Lush Gardener. I'm always confused by the phrase, 5-6 hours of morning sun when in Texas, morning sun is not 6 or even 5 hours long; 4 tops. The exception would be June. You might eek out 5 or 6 hours but to get that many hours any other time, that would be 1:30 to 2 pm before you can get 5 to 6 hours. Why do people say you need 5 to 6 hours of morning sun when that can only apply to 30 days out of the year?
Hi …don’t worry ….this 5-6 hours of morning direct sunlight is to get the most brightest colour or the blush ….a lot people don’t get morning sun at all due the structure of the house …so it’s either morning sun or indirect bright light ( like in your case indirect bright light or whatever amount of morning direct sunlight you receive) it 5-6 hours 2-3-4 hrs is also ok but colour will slightly less ….the more direct sun the more colour
don’t the indirect bright light will be good enough….and if it’s less the succulents will let you know ☺️
@@LushGardener oh, thank you so much!❤🧡💛💙💜
Very helpful video..but you don't cover the area like balcony...where I shifted all my sacculants bcz temp of Delhi you know...my question is how to grow healthy sacculants or save sacculants where we received only bright light not direct sunlight? (just sifted my sacculants from rooftop to balcony as tep high)...one more request please make a video on how to clean sacculants 🙏
thank you so much for watching
bright light for long hours is good if that is only option but now for you it’s very important to protect your succulents from heat try to keep your balcony as cool as possible...
yes will make a video on cleaning soon.
@@LushGardener thanks again ❤
I have a West facing balcony which gets peak afternoon sun 4-6 hours. How to maintain succulents in such a space?
You will need to put up a green net .....otherwise it will be difficult to grow succulents
FRANK, WHAT DO YOU DO WITH SO MANY OF THEM!
I HAVE ALL THE ISSUES YOU MENTIONED. SO I AM GONNA GET BUST SHIFTING MY SMALL COLLECTION FROM HERE TO THERE.....I WILL FOLLOW THE SUNLIGHT!
THANKS.
ahaha I always feel I have less 😂
What about 4-5 hours of afternoon+evening direct sunshine? Will dat work?
afternoon direct sun will burn the succulents ( depending how high the temperature is ) that’s why only indirect afternoon sun ....even if they don’t get burnt in afternoon sunlight they might not be able to handle the heat of the afternoon sunlight and they will start to close inward ( survival mode ) .....evening sunlight isn’t much strong and won’t be sufficient
so it’s either direct morning sunlight or indirect afternoon sunlight .....evening sunlight can be a bonus but won’t be much effective
Is it the same with indoor succulents too? Like zebra haworthia, lace aloe, etc. And for places like Delhi, what should be done? Please suggest.
no mam for haworthia and aloe keep only in indirect bright light no direct sun light ….in Delhi u can keep aloe and haworthia closer to the window as long as there is good amount of bright light …. lack of light wil make them strechy
@@LushGardener Thank-you so much
Morning direct sunlight for 5-6hrs.. is that ok in this hot month of June? What best can be done in this hot climate? Please reply
Mam if the sunlight is too strong even in the morning then it has to be in from of indirect sunlight….you can use a green shade net
@@LushGardener thank u sir.. really appreciate your response 🙏
Unfortunately I live in an apartment and my balcony receives full sunlight only in the afternoon for a 2-3 hours. What should I do?
sir then please use green net to filter the light 2-3 hours is good but not direct afternoon sunlight….and after 2-3 hour is it still very bright or it’s shade ?
@@LushGardener it is shade afterwards
@@samuele.marcora ok make good use of those 2-3 hours of afternoon sunlight and ensure to use green net without fail…..the next thing is observing check what’s happens next if they still stretch then you will need to provide more light …..2-3 hours is still less but it’s ok something is better than nothing if after this there would have been still bright light it would have been excellent but it’s ok just check and observe….this type of set up you have falls under part sun part shade type ….most probably it should work but still keep an eye ☺️ wishing you all the best
Hello! Summer here (90-100’F). Some of my succulents not watered for more than one month. Still firm and no wrinkling. Shall I wait the lower leaves to wrinkle? Thank you
any idea what genus of succulents are they ?
@@LushGardener like firestorm (dormant) and with thick leaves
yes coz sedum firestorm is dormant…that’s y no signs of dehydration but if it’s to dry add Little water just to keep the roots hydrated probably you can water once ..how about Echeveria is it the same case
@@LushGardener Echeverias, I watered them cuz they showed signs of wrinkling. 😊
@@normacolina4291 oh great 😊 so basically in your environment the dormant and non dormancy plays strictly outdoors 😀
