The canopy over the eastern side of the chateau is absolutely marvelous! It was heartbreaking to see you trying to put buckets and things underneath the leaks in the past. At least you don't have to wait for them to finish the whole roof to begin to get some protection! Wonderful! 🎉😊

I am so grateful for your videos. The details you show in your presentation open our eyes to the complexity of the work that is being done to match the complexity of the body of the chateau. The reawakening of Chateau de Pernon is a modern fairy tale--done with more muscle and grit, perhaps, but done with just as much love. Thank you.

Interesting project. Just picking up on one aspect in particular. I’m a very experienced builder, 50 years plus experience in Construction
This is not a criticism but objective advice, the haunching for the chimney cans, (pots), is totally inadequate, not only that but as insurances they should be mechanically fixed, using stainless steel fxngs. The spalling of the Stone Cornices is in all probability caused by one or two things or a combination of the two, firstly the iron fxngs corroding & expanding due largely to not being sealed sufficiently and the effects of the freeze thaw cycle. We have just finished a small job repairing a sandstone sill which had iron bars fitted into the stone, the lead seals had failed allowing the ingress of water & overtime the freeze cycle had induced a fissure in-line with all the iron bars with the resultant failure, I hope that’s helpful, we are very experienced in Structural remedial work, we have carried out many works and utilise some very interesting technical methods including the use of Masonry Beams, where the existing wall in need of stabilisation is interwoven with a frame/matrix of Stainless steel which effectively is a beam. We are based in both the UK, (at the moment) & Dallas, Texas.
All the very best with your project..

The restored roof look great! And what a fabulous idea to put a cover over the roof that is being worked on. I'm sure it takes bit to get it in place, but once it is there it will save time. I don't know if it is because I live in North America, but seeing these workers do their work is incredible! Stonemasons and using slate tiles is just not something seen here. What a beautiful job they are doing! Also, while the scaffolding is up, what other jobs are getting done to the side & windows?

@ If you are in contact with any other chateaux channels (especially the 300k + followers) you might want to talk numbers with them...
I am not 100% sure but if your youtube channel had 500k followers (which it totally has the potential to get !) and would post 1 video per week your adsense revenues would be close to 50k US$/mo before tax (in part because of your audience ie. english speaking from tier 1 countries), and if you get 1% of your youtube followers to subscribe to your first level patreon you can add 32.5k€/mo (low estimate here)...around 900k /year total sound feasable...(sounds like a lot and it is but I'm also sure you could make good use of it)
Given the scope of your project I would actually consider creating a full time job (community manager/videographer/editor/...), low wages but bonuses for every milestone (first important at 100k) for motivation and getting things done...
Not sure either of the business structure (I'm guessing multiple entities, a non profit : association loi 1901, a Societe Civile Immobiliere, and a future for profit business) but your accountant might be able to help you minimize the cost of a full time employee to a minimum (you could possibly also have a stagiaire/intern work on this as a project to validate his/her study, therefore paying only a few hundred euros of wage...)
If you had someone to do it you could probably post 2 or even 3 videos a week (each - set - day a theme, ex. Monday an interview/portrait of a worker/job, Wednesday Purnon history, Friday updates and maybe 1 live each month : viewers will want to connect more with time and as your channel grows)
RUclips seems to work in milestones, a lot of time editing and uploading at first but when in the 6 digit & up (followers) you get a business that can be quite profitable, especially if you post regularly and balance well other platforms (patreon, store,..., maybe wedding venue, airbnb or relais chateaux one day, you'd even have the potential for you own multi seasons TV show but that's obviously not everyone's cup of tea)...
My take is you lost confidence in youtube and open the patreon too early...
I know easier said than done, but I do believe your channel has an enormous amount of potential, possibly the most of all chateaux story/project/adventure....
PS. sorry for the bad english....french here.

@@trthib thanks for your message. You will notice that our channel is many years younger than the channels with the audience numbers you mention. We have a wonderful dedicated following and are enjoying sharing the incredible work of our artisans as they bring Purnon back to life. We are delighted that so many have joined us on our journey and we enjoy updating everyone as much as is feasibly possible to us given our work load with this enormous projects. We are not in a position to accommodate volunteers at this point as the interior of the château has minimal safe and comfortable rooms but we do appreciate your comments.

why did you have to redo the window sills? The stone seem fine and they certainly did not rot.
