He is just a brilliant writer and to be able to write this when Cat was so young is amazing. His voice and the way he sings is very calming. Cat/Yusef is in his 70's now and played Glastonbury, he filled the tent! He said he couldn't understand why all these young and older people had come to see an old man sing his songs. He still has the voice, peace and calm, something we all need.
Thank you for this, Pearl. Since you seemed to be touched in your emotions by this, I'd like to offer a "happier" suggestion. Cat Stevens performed with an organization called Playing For Change. The song is called "Peace Teain." I suspect this multicultural masterpiece will make you feel happy. 😊❤😁😇🌹
Thanks for that, It's a real tear jerker. What about trying to bring out some Aussie tears? Try Slim Dusty " We've Done Us Proud" Australia's 200 year anniversary tune.
I first listened to this song 25 years ago and I didn't feel or relate to the song as much. Now that my sons are all in their late teens, this song makes me emotional...
I'm Mema Drum now, but I didn't get this song until my firstborn in '78. It makes me emotional as well. I guess you need to be a parent to actually understand it's core 'eh? Were you like me and didn't know what 'little pictures tell big stories' meant either until one of your kids blurbed out a family secret to the neighborhood 'Gladys Kravitz". haha!

I didn't talk to my dad for the last 15 years of his life and now my son doesn't talk to me and I am wondering if it is karma busting me in the chops.
Omg 😦
