What is the sound level differance in these two model's? You state that in some of your other compairison viedos and I was just curious bucoaus its not menitoned in this video. thanks in advance.
Spend the extra $400 and get the pro saw. 261. If you are not experienced run the semi chiseled chain(green) then later move up to full chisel(yellow) and learn how to sharpen them. The 261 with full chisel blows chunks and will surprise you as to how well it cuts. Good luck!
Poor choice both of these for homeowner use (which these vids are targeted to). They cost way too much, homeowner saws tend to be shelf ornaments. The MS 261 and MS 271 saws are powerful, faster than general homeowners' training level, skill level, safety level and PPE level. A homeowner level saw at 35cc to 40cc or so is capable of general clean up of downed trees, the cutting of the two or three cords of wood to heat a home through winter and even to taking down a tree 20 feet or so tall. With the money saved purchasing a homeowner saw, the user can protect her/his investment by using the superior canned fuel and have two or three chains on the shelf ready to use (most homeowners do not hand sharpen chains and dull chains burn up engines even in pro saws). There are homeowner chainsaws with no user serviceable carb adjustments. For homeowner saws, may i suggest same manufacturer bar oil in non-oiler adj saws because they are designed to work together? The 271 will do what 98% of users are asking it to do for at least 8-10 years. The 261 will last them a lifetime with good care, coming from a 271 user that takes care of his and runs the dog shit out of it and it’s still my go to after 5 years
Depends on the users needs but the the ms251 and ms271 are actually great homeowner class saws. Now if you only use a saw for just general cleanup I wouldn't even look at a gas saw because even canned fuel can cause issues specifically calling out trufuel as I have personally had issues with that
A 261 is a professional saw designed to run day after day and be rebuilt the 271 and 291 if something major needs to be fixed your better off just buying a new one because the repair cost will have you almost to the same price as a new saw
@@NorthCountryOutlaw i have a 180 291 and 261. The 180 is my around the house saw or if my wife comes out to help cut firewood. The 291 is modded and pulls a 20 inch bar with ease. The 261 with 18 inch bar is my newest saw and my go to saw. Between the 3 saws they average 10 to 15 cords a year

The color does not indicate if its semi or full chisel. Green is low kickback and yellow is not you can get both semi or full chisel in either color.
Are the 261 specs wrong? Isn't it 3.0 kw power in video it's 2.8?
