I’m so glad that people are actually aware that there should be background music for the menu but as WELL as music for every application ! Nintendo was so, quite literally, spot on with there music and making you feel like you’re safe and like there’s not a worry in the world. It’s what made them unique !
The 3ds had it why can't the switch???
They wanted to make the switch more modern and to the point, like a smartphone. There isn't smartphone menu music so the switch didn't really need it either because you have it for the games not the menu music lol. However if they add the option that'd still be great.

@@HCNimh I think it was also to differentiate from the wii u because it was such a failure. I wish theyt had menu music :(

It actually really pisses me off that there’s no music in the ui. I know it’s not very common to be as upset about it as I am but like damn I really want them to make the switch ui nicer. Right now it’s actually my least favorite ui out of the Nintendo consoles I’ve owned which sucks because it has my favorite games out of any console.
nah I'm just as mad as you dude. the Wii music is so nostalgic and special to my generation and now the kids who grow up with switches aren't going to have the same experience. also, silently browsing the eshop is awkward as hell.

I'm also just as mad it's the one of the several reasons I spent money on an original 3ds in good condition instead of a switch lite. I had a switch lite last year bought tones if games and the console itself gave me 0 confidence to really engage in all of them so I sold it to buy a new phone.
@@darksoul7675 damn fr? I actually really like almost all of my games on the switch. The ui is the only thing I really dislike. My favorite game from each of Nintendo’s franchises is on the switch excluding Pokémon.

Would have been better with Wii Shop music
I wish they carried over the eshop music from the WiiU and 3DS. I really liked how they changed the song every season, and would play songs from the games too for special occasions...

As far as I know on hacked switch you can set main menu music
@@Genomesno, only theme, but I mean, it SHOULD be possible, to have flags for when the menu is opened, to start music, and for when it is closed, to stop music.
i agree it should have menu music but this track ain’t the one. needs to be soft & subtle
The beginning is fine but it doesnt have the same feeling as the wii or 3ds menu music and isnt calming or relaxing at all
That Music actually sounds decent!
I recently got a kalimba. I am very familiar with how music progressions work, but by sheer accident, I figured out how to make the Wii menu music. I kept messing with it until it sounded just like it. Whenever I am out camping or at a camp fire with my friends I can whip it out and play the menu music
I still don’t get why Nintendo didn’t just continue with the music trend but just add the ability to make it optional with a button prompt or something.
You’d have the best of both worlds.
I would love it if the Switch had toggleable menu music
the music should fade in and out when you go to the menu / launch an app/game
