A leaked French medical report from 2023 has confirmed that Algerian boxer Imane Khelif is male. The report, accessed by French journalist Djaffar Ait Aoudia, was drafted in June 2023 by experts at Paris' Kremlin-Bicêtre Hospital and Algiers' Mohamed Lamine Debaghine Hospital. The findings indicate that Khelif has 5-alpha reductase deficiency, a condition affecting sexual development found in biological males. According to the report, Khelif has no uterus and possesses internal testicles, with an MRI further identifying a "microp*nis." as reported by reduxx. From the way he explains it I would say that having a Y chromosome would most probably lead to higher androgen levels, which in turn cause more male-like bone and muscle growth. This gives a huge advantage to the individual when competing in a physically demanding sport against individuals of XX chromosomes.
That’s because it’s simple if you’re biologically male you compete against other males if you’re female you compete against other females. There’s no nuance to it at all. But it's definitely easier to spread this misinformation than to call her "woman with disorder" - "male beating up woman" is a better clickbait. And then these same people pretend like they have empathy for the competitors. Half the people even think she is a trans woman. I think it's cognitive disonance - they refuse to accept that XY person can be a woman, because accepting that would ruin their simplistic beliefs. But even a single google search can show you that many XY women have given birth in the past. And also that XX men exist - yet they never address these things, but rather push their head into the sand to ignore it.

It was never a secret that hormones determine the difference in brute strength. That’s why in sports, men and women are separated. Even within males. 170 lbs males cannot compete with 250 lbs males. Yet they both still have an equal chance to vote, work out, go to school, and earn for the same job .
At time = 4:45 he clearly states that this is not a black/white thing. But unfortunately, sports are divided into man/woman categories. Then, my conclusion is that we are lacking clear and fair rules for this categorisation. How much grey is allowed to remain in the white category, and not to move into the black category? Well, he also states he has no response to this: my understanding is that this is a typical problem of turning a continuous and analog situation into a discrete and digital grouping. There will always be some unfair decision.
When does the grouping happen? When do we test? Every single child athlete? The billions of them who could rise to be an Olympic athlete (bearing in mind, barring the elite are amateurs who are the best in their countries at a sport, with no reason to question their gender assignment let alone their testosterone levels
Something I think he *doesn't* make clear enough is that not everyone with this type of condition *knows* that they have it. If you're born with a vagina, raised as a girl for your entire childhood, then later during puberty start developing traits that make you appear less feminine than other girls, you aren't going to suddenly go "Oh, I guess I'm not a woman, then." Another very important thing to note is that someone with DSD may have higher testosterone than average for females, but still much *much* lower than average for males. So, even with elevated testosterone, their hormone levels can still be far closer to female levels, so if you have to categorize them one way or another, how does it make any sense to group them with men?
At the heart of this whole conflict is the fact that people on the political right insist there are only 2 boxes people can fit into, and people on the political left have been creating more boxes, but nature sees no boxes and has no need to abide by our "rules". That's proving awfully inconvenient, however, with the way we've decided to set up gender-based divisions in sports. We want competition to be as "fair" as possible, but fairness is subjective, so there's a whole lot of room for disagreement. It's also vitally important to mention, however, that on the subject of Imane Khelif specifically, there is currently no actual proof of her having a condition like the ones described in this video, only hearsay, so anything related to her is pure speculation. To anyone reading, don't believe the things people are saying in internet comment sections, because they're all playing a stupid game of telephone.
Fascinating. Is there an explanation as to why this DSD has never been an issue prior to 2024? Were prior athletes never suspected due to the absence of popular discourse?
He was born a XY. There needs to be some way to qualify male and female for sports etc. This has been the determining factor since the discovery. Even with errors there needs to be a clear cut way to determine sex. It is being made more complicated than it needs to be.
XY females exist just like XX males exist. As the creator of the video points out, sex determination is more complicated than which chromosomes are present. A lot depends on how the genes on the chromosome function. If the SRY gene is translocation to an X chromosome, that sperm will produce an XX/SRY+ male complete with testes and male puberty. Should this person be put on a female sports team?
There is such a thing called intersex much like a hermaphrodite these people are both male and female. My daughter has Tripple X syndrome. It's not always so cut and dry. Her very own mother has spoken out about this and people want to call her a liar.
Hey doctor, please could you explain the DSD 5-ARD? If this is the DSD that Khelif has, the IBA was absolutely corrected in banning Khelif on safety grounds alone, never mind eligibility grounds. Making out that this is a DSD of less consequence is just as much misinformation as saying Khelif is “trans”.
Has anyone seen Cris "Cyborg" the Brazilian MMA fighter. She has a daughter, she also easily has the strength of the average man, look her up. She isnt banned and is tested prior to MMA fights. Cyborg is way more muscular and stronger than this fighter in question. Maybe we should ban basketball players that have a pituitary gland disease that made many of them tall?
It's the presence of testosterone whether it's natural or not its performance enhancing. And that is where the actual problem arises the Russians would inject their female boxers with testosterone and it gave them a competitive edge. Can I go step in the ring if I have the chance of getting beat up by a woman?
It's super common to have more masculine looking woman here, I know at least two, both have children, but also, XY women can also have children sometimes, so complicated.

The female boxing category could simply be limited to fully female, XX chromosomes, participants. A male category and maybe other different category can also be in place. This would be fair, safe, and protective of female boxers.
The problem is that sex isnt so straight foward as XX and XY. you can have an XX phenotypic male. There are many ways this can happen, like translocation of the SRY gene, to an X chromosome, or to an autosome or a mutation in an X-linked or autosomal gene in the testis-determining pathway just to name two. You can also have an XY female with CAI gene. There is also not just XX and XY. What do you do with XXY, XXX, XYY? Did you know it's not that rare either? The prevalence is about the same as redheads.
According to InterACT, a major organization for intersex rights in the US, states that 1.7% of people have some variation of sexual development, 0.5% have atypical genitalia, and 0.05% have mixed/ambiguous genitalia. No, not one in a million but far from common.
either way whatever the Gender is when born falls either more toward the female side or the male side. Imane Khalif could be a hermaphrodite, who maybe has woman's genitalia but internally has a male reproduction. If you look at he/she I see no breasts, the large jaw line is characteristic with male features, you can see a more manly body type, granted some woman can look masculine. Imane Khalif was already rejected from a fight due to gender. So why on earth would the Olympics allow this ? of course they want to support there decision to not look like fools.
@@dflfd that is because intersex advocacy organizations include the widest number of conditions possible in their numbers, but researchers prefer to use much more limited definitions. Just for clarification. If testicles develop internally as opposed to externally, doesnt somehow make them ovaries. Nor does a penis become a vagina. These are just deformities from the norm. These cause it to become difficult to determine sex at a glance. These deformities dont somehow make "sex" a murky classification.

There is a correlation between the Y chromosome and strength. Maybe it would be easier to classify sports as XX and XY rather than male and female. If someone has a Y chromosome, then they have the capability for higher levels of strength, so they shouldn't compete against someone with XX chromosomes.
That's not how this works. If the gene on the Y chromosome doesn't work properly, it doesn't give the same advantages as a normal Y chromosome. It's a specific gene on the chromosome, not the Y chromosome itself that's responsible for the development of male anatomy.

Your opening statement, "If you think the difference between male and female and the subsequent gender identity is as simple as having or not having an X chromesome..." is a flawed statement. She had the past issues/allegations, boxing world was like "well shit, what do we do with this situation..." guy in the dark corner says "put her in the Olympics, have the other fighter quit and say she's never been hit that hard before on international tv." Problem solved.
it has been around for decades. At least since the controversies surrounding the GDR athletes in the 1980s. The difference in public awareness is probably because now Elon Musk is trying to exploit it for financial/political reasons.
Because no one cared. Now, republicans have spent 3 years pushing trans hate propaganda and implanting it into everyone’s minds. It’s very simple and easy to see.
Please dont muddle the argument. The conversation is not about whether Khelif is male or female. It is about fairness and safety. Obviously she possesses physical anomalies. The XY genotype confers physical advantages and people with that should not be competing against xx chromosomes athletes. The feelings and issues that Khelif (who has xy chromosomes) and similarly afflicted people have, while unfortunate, has no place this debate. The issue is fairness and safety in women's sports.
Reading people ignorantly proclaiming how simple the right answer is in the comments is simultaneously both funny and disheartening 🤦♂️ He didn’t take a side so people couldn’t be mad at that, so instead they decide to be mad at the suggestion that the situation has nuance 🤷♂️
He is literally a web doctor who is ideologically driven clearly. Firstly he asks to think about it from the Algerian persons point of view but completely fails to look at it from their female opponents point of view getting punched in the head by someone with male biology. Secondly we have known hermaphrodites for a long time now. They are not transgender and lumping them in together is intellectually dishonest. hermaphrodites are born with a mixture of genitalia, transgendered have the biology of one sex but have the psychological opinion they are the other. Lastly if you have male biology, you should not be competing against females especially in chat sports because it is not safe. End of.
I understand your point of view doc. I understand some people can't be put into a clearcut bucket of male or female and I truly indorse Imane Khelif's right to take part in the sport. But you also mentioned that having a Y chromosome gives clear advantage in terms of increased testosterone levels and masculine features. So, its equally unfair for Angela Carini (a woman with XX chromosomes) to fight Imane Khelif (XY chromosome). It would be fair for both biological beings to compete with opponents who have the same sex chromosomes as them. That's my opinion...
It also gives disadvantages, and 1 in 10 of every XX women also have high testosterone, because they have PCOS, and it isn't always a good thing, basically you have hair you don't want and gain weight easily, also, diabetes.
Yes, it is fair since she has LOST to 9 women before this. So clearly, she doesn't have this huge advantage. She won against a another woman who didn't know how to fight properly (as she didn't protect her face, it wasn't a good punch towards her), she was bad and she lost. Just as Imane was bad before lost to 9 other women.
@@bluester7177 Is it true in Imane’s case though ? Doesn’t Imane clearly look more Masculine and strong ? Clearly overshadowing the opponent. Just use your eyes. Don’t you feel it’s unfair ?
You can't say what this athlete's exact situation is without more testing/exams BUT the likelihood of the athlete having male characteristics just based on the chromosome, hormones, and phenotype is very very high. This means an unfair advantage in a sport that divides male from female. This athlete is probably ineligible to compete with females.
We should just ban taller and bigger men right? Since most men wouldn't be able to compete. Contests like this are not for everyone, freaks of nature commonly come out on top. You cannot bar freaks of nature, they are who we want to see, not average joes.

It is disputed whether Khelif has XY chromosomes. You should be upfront about that when you mention the allegation at the start of the video. Also, the fact the IBA and Kremlev, who are making that accusation, are being discredited.
They are still IBA. What makes Khelif a woman? Seriously? Why should I believe his passport, and not IBA's test? Why at all would IBA go after him and Lin? A special grudge?
This did not resolve the issue. Listening to this it definitely sounds like this person should be classified as not female as far as competing in sport is concerned. Common sense.
That's literally not what he said we should do. All he said is that you can't take chromosomes as a quick and dirty rule to categorize people with Disorders of Sexual Development.
@@dandiaz19934 what he says does not settle the matter. He's basically saying the Y chromosome did not result in fully formed male genitals. So he's male. Doctor assigned Iman female did not see the parts (ts were on the inside).
This has been going on for as long as I have known myself to have comprehension. Soviets and Germans used to love using this loophole to dominate back in the 70's to 90's before other camp's caught on, once those appeals started rolling in they shut that sh!t down.
@@xx133 it was reported numerous time's, Caster Semenya was banned and stripped due to it. Just like this current athlete is banned by boxing but not by the Olympics committee hence why they're able to compete with a spiked testosterone level.
This is not a loophole. It's just a complex biological topic that many people haven't yet agreed on a good testing method on or criteria to maximize fairness while not exluding too many people. In this case, IBA used the oversimplified definition that female is someone with XX chromosomes. The problem with this definition is that such a female can take testosterone before puberty to develop male physical characteristics and then stop - she would then revert to her old hormonal profile with low testosterone but keep certain male characteristics like wider ribgcage, bigger bones, etc. You can see this doesn't really make much sense in terms of fairness. We should realisticially be looking at physical characteristics and hormones. I don't have a solution for this, maybe something similar to weight classes could be made. The Olympics disregarded IBA's oversimplifeid criteria because it excluded too many born-women from competing even if they had zero advantages (not all XY women have advantages).

I get it doc i get it, but shouldn’t these “competitive advantages be checked before qualifying?” I mean Competition has to be fair. As stated by you these hybrid athletes are not 1 in a million case. Hence, they should check each athlete for this issue and should not allow them to compete, rather there should be a separated devision for them. Paralympics is there, why there couldn’t be a separate category for hybrids as well. M not against them. Im just against mismatching. An advantage is an advantage whether it is testosterone or XY chromosomes or higher level of any enzyme salt. We ban doping in marathons by not letting players wear a certain shoe that will make them faster. So why this leverage for biology? This is not a trance issue but an olympics issue. This is also a doping a biological doping advantage.
Competition is inherently unfair. This is the equivalent of saying we should regulate height in basketball because it gives you an insane advantage. You cannot make sports fair as long as someone has an advantage it will be unfair.
@@catinacafe7105 it is, but that doesn’t mean one should allow such atrocities. By this logic all men should compete in woman sports. And women will perish as a sportswomen. Even Serena Williams said it in one of her interviews that even though im no 1 in womens Wimbledon, to an average ranking man, i could not return his serve.
The thing is, there's wasn't a way to know until modern more accessible genetic examinations could detect the issue. And then with that new visibility, more research had to be done on the DSD cases, and it uncovered stuff we didn't really know about before. Most of these women never find out. As far as we all knew, they were born female and lived as women. It's not a group known to be trans-masc either. Or even drawn to sports more than average. Unless you do a very specific gene test, no one would know. Its just a Y chromosome that failed to raise 'boy' signal, so the body defaults to being female. Then the body processes hormones just like a female too. For XX females, it is much harder to grow muscle due to how hormones are processed, even when adding testosterone manually. These X(y) females deal with the same problems. There hasn't been any competitive difference found so far.
I'm a fencer, not professional. I advise you to check the age of winners of gold medal. Hint : fencing taught to me that division between male and female is essentially cultural. In others sports it can play a role... And sports are culturally built. Biology is complex, society is complex, neat little boxes belongs to wishful thinking... Not reality
That's all very interesting, but all that matters in athletic competition is if XY chromosomes gives someone a physical advantage that nobody XX could have. It's about fairness. Gender designations and genitals are irrelevant.
Not faulting anyone's birth. It is simple though. There are external genital variations, but XY = male, with the exception of DSD variation XY complete gonadal dysgenesis (Swyer syndrome). It should painfully obvious (pun intended for the women who have to fight them) that the 2 boxers Khelif and Yu Ting clearly have mild PAIS and not Swyer syndrome. Someone with Sawyer syndrome would be visibly frail as they would not even be able to go through puberty without hormone replacement therapy, let alone be competing as an Olympic athlete! And the excuse about Algeria not accepting intersex means Imane = woman makes no sense. It only makes the advantage Imane would have had even larger as growing up, they would have never received hormonal treatment, hence their testosterone levels would have been completely unmitigated and would have developed (as we have seen) completely as a male except without the external genitals (assuming). ### Sports Performance, Specifically Boxing: 1. **Physical and Hormonal Considerations**: - **XY Gonadal Dysgenesis Without Hormone Replacement Therapy**: - Without hormone replacement therapy, individuals with XY gonadal dysgenesis will have very low levels of sex hormones (both estrogen and testosterone). - This would result in minimal muscle development and physical strength compared to typical XX females and individuals with mild PAIS. - They would likely have lower bone density and weaker physical endurance. - **Mild PAIS**: - Individuals with mild PAIS, due to their partial sensitivity to androgens, might have higher levels of testosterone than typical females. - This can lead to increased muscle mass, strength, and endurance compared to typical XX females. - Even with partial androgen insensitivity, the presence of higher testosterone levels can provide a significant advantage in sports requiring physical strength and endurance, such as boxing. 2. **Advantages and Disadvantages**: - **XY Gonadal Dysgenesis Without Hormone Replacement Therapy**: - Likely at a disadvantage in physical sports like boxing due to lack of muscle development, low bone density, and poor physical endurance. - May have difficulties competing effectively against typical XX females and individuals with mild PAIS. - **Mild PAIS**: - *Likely to have a physical advantage over typical XX females due to higher testosterone levels, resulting in increased muscle mass and strength*. - This advantage would be more pronounced if hormone levels are not regulated, as the natural higher testosterone levels can enhance physical performance significantly. ### Summary: - **Puberty**: Individuals with XY gonadal dysgenesis without hormone replacement therapy do not undergo puberty and lack secondary sexual characteristics. Mild PAIS individuals undergo partial masculinization due to higher testosterone levels. - **Sports Competition**: In boxing, individuals with XY gonadal dysgenesis without hormone replacement therapy are likely at a disadvantage due to low muscle mass and physical strength. In contrast, individuals with mild PAIS may have a significant physical advantage due to higher testosterone levels, enhancing muscle mass, strength, and endurance. This highlights the importance of hormonal regulation in ensuring fair competition in sports.
@@psier11 haha thank you, I appreciate the comment. I think like most of us, I was just very interested in this debate and I wanted to find out the facts for myself. And it definitely seems to me that the IOC decision is being driven based on ideology rather than facts
I dont appreciate his decriptions of "internal" as chromosomes and "external" as the appearance of the genitalia. She is chromosomally male and probably never knew until she was banned from the boxing league from the chromosome test. She did undergo male puberty with the gonades being internal. Her optic nerve, heart and lungs are larger and different. She is a biological male and once you understand hormone testing thru diagnostic procedures (thyroid issues, pcos, endometriosis, ect) you know the science is bunk and and can only be compared to your own test over a set period of time to say what is "normal". She has an unfair advantage. It doenst matter her feelings or intentions, she absolutely produces more testosterone. Even compared to a masculine female who is likely to have undiagnosed or disagnosed thyroid condition or pcos. She has different phenotypes as a result. Hows that for an "internal" description. I use the pronoun she out of respect because she has lived female her entire life and i have no problems where her being socially female. Let me put it this way, her opthmologist, cardiologist, neurologist, and endocrinologist all absolutely would want and need to know her chromosomes or she could be misdiagnosed or given inappropriate treatments as a result of not knowing. That says enough about the chromosomes.
But the thing is, this isn't a case of transgenderism. From everything I've read she was born with female reproductive organs but appears to suffer from DSD. This is rare but it does happen. Real question: isn’t muscle mass potential determined by hormonal balances? If yes, it stands to reason that an athlete who is moving closer to the male end of the genetic physiology (including the abnormalitiies you said) would develop far more muscle mass than a purely female athlete. That is if all other factors are equal, but let’s assume. In that context, isn’t it logical to put a developmental clause in these sports instead of a hormonal one? I mean it would be logical to say that if your hormones were, during development, closer to male, then you’re ineligible for combat sporting with women, to avoid accidents. I would appreciate a response, given your cool headed scientific approach.
" accidents" ????? ok then rules for boxing but not for running not for jumping not for swimming ....?? you are boxing, she is taller , stronger ... you lose NEXT !
It’s not complicated! The athletes have testes. They are biologically male. While these women have a DSD and are not transgender, the ioc has taken an ideological stance with the trans-rights movement and against the movement for a sex-based female category creating this confusion.
In Algeria, at birth , this person’s genitalia would have been ambiguous. Due to that they would have been classified as a female ( because that is probably the default). What should have been done was a chromosome test. So Imame is a XY but with some abnormalities. The XY makes the gender male. I can’t imagine though, how difficult life in Algeria would have been for Imane if he had been brought up as a male.
@@seaside9670Please do NOT make those kinds of assumptions when you don't even know how things are in Algeria. The female sec is NOT "the default option" for people with DSDs. That's an absolute lie and you should be ash@m£d of making false claims! In Algeria, if someone is born with ambiguous genitalia, they wouldn't be assigned any sec, and their parents would be advised to give them a unisex name. They would eventually be assigned a sec (male or female) after extensive medical tests, based on what disorder they have. The fact that Imane was assigned the female sec at birth, means that she was born with normal female genitalia. Stop making false claims about my country when you probably never even set foot here.
Because it’s a weak move. They know they don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell against the men so they choose to compete against the weaker sex which in most cases they will dominate over a biological woman
Good for you. Some people are acting like they know what they are talking about when their comments amount to nothing more than blatant ignorance--and hate. Thanks for your rational, calm, unbiased explanation.
I mean he lost before doesn’t mean he will be qualified now. The problem is we should set a standard whether we should allow XY chromosome person to participate female sports. Algerians, please be aware, if this guy could participate, other guys could participate as well and they could punch the shit out of your female athletes. It’s never about which country wins, it’s about sticking to integrity of the Olympics.
Is it just me or do you get the highest amount of trans/sex ambiguous athletes in the female divisions of combat sports? Just realised I’ve never seen anything about these types of athletes competing in gymnastics
Males and females do not do the same events in gymnastics. There are lots of videos out there of gymnasts trying out the events that the opposite sex performs and they can’t do it. The events they compete in are designed for a certain body type. So in gymnastics it would actually be a disadvantage to compete as the other gender.
That's a great point, and I'm glad you brought it up. If cisgender women generally have physical advantages over trans women, why are people blaming Imane Khelif? The answer lies in misconceptions, biases, and a lack of understanding about trans athletes and hormone therapy. Some people assume that: 1. _Trans women retain all their physical advantages_: This is not true. Hormone therapy significantly reduces muscle mass, bone density, and other physical attributes. 2. _Hormone therapy doesn't level the playing field_: While hormone therapy reduces physical advantages, some people believe it doesn't go far enough. 3. _Trans women have an unfair advantage_: This misconception stems from a lack of understanding about the physical changes that occur with hormone therapy. Imane Khelif is being blamed due to: 1. _Misinformation and misconceptions_: People are misinformed about trans athletes and hormone therapy. 2. _Fear of change and the unknown_: Some individuals are uncomfortable with the idea of trans athletes competing in their identified gender category. 3. _Unconscious bias and discrimination_: Unfortunately, some people harbor biases against trans individuals, leading to unfair criticism and blame. It's essential to educate ourselves and others about trans athletes, hormone therapy, and the complexities of gender identity in sports. By doing so, we can work towards a more inclusive and accepting environment for all athletes.

Intersex is a newly made term. DSD describes maladaptive phenotypes that make it hard to discern sex, most of which result in the person being sterile. Intersex doesn't really exist in the sense that reproduction must occur with the female or male sexual organs that already are known to exist.

The findings indicate that Khelif has 5-alpha reductase deficiency, a condition affecting sexual development found in biological males. According to the report, Khelif has no uterus and possesses internal testicles, with an MRI further identifying a "microp*nis." as reported by reduxx. If we go the nuance route then it’s not out of the realm of possibility some older person who’s trans age(yes that’s a thing look it up) could identify as a child and compete as a fully grown man in kids sports. She knocked on the door and asked if she can box, the IBA tested her and said no, she knocked again and the IOC answered, checked her passport and let her in. There's a reason the IOC usually cedes to the sports governing body to make these decisions.
So what should the organization do? First of all, the olympic committee says the source for saying she's intersex is not credible. But let's say she is. What should the olympic committee do in these cases. If she has female sex characteristics but a XY chromosome, should she not be allowed to play in women's sports? Should she be required to play in men's sports? But she's clearly not a man (per our usual definitions) either, because she doesn't have male sex characteristics. Yeah, it's sickening to me how they labeled her a man. A person born a woman and lived her entire life as a woman - to be then called a man for a disorder is utter disrespect.

There are rules already in place, hence why they go through the tests that lead to this entire controversy in the first place.
When does the grouping happen? When do we test? Every single child athlete? The billions of them who could rise to be an Olympic athlete (bearing in mind, barring the elite are amateurs who are the best in their countries at a sport, with no reason to question their gender assignment let alone their testosterone levels
@@MrAndywearA cheek swab can provide XY results. Easy test.
Something I think he *doesn't* make clear enough is that not everyone with this type of condition *knows* that they have it. If you're born with a vagina, raised as a girl for your entire childhood, then later during puberty start developing traits that make you appear less feminine than other girls, you aren't going to suddenly go "Oh, I guess I'm not a woman, then."
Another very important thing to note is that someone with DSD may have higher testosterone than average for females, but still much *much* lower than average for males.

XY females exist just like XX males exist. As the creator of the video points out, sex determination is more complicated than which chromosomes are present. A lot depends on how the genes on the chromosome function. If the SRY gene is translocation to an X chromosome, that sperm will produce an XX/SRY+ male complete with testes and male puberty. (Which, incidentally, is something they have never had this athlete has never had a menstrual period, as that is not physically possible for people with a y chromosome.) The Algerian boxer is a male born with an extra x chromosome. They are male with a chromosomal abnormality. Definitely not female😂
But saying "errors" and "abnormalities" means errors and abnormalities within a binary, not a "third sex" or a "spectrum."
You guys want to hear my theory of how this is being "taken care of". She had the past issues/allegations, boxing world was like "well shit, what do we do with this situation..." guy in the dark corner says "put her in the Olympics, have the other fighter quit and say she's never been hit that hard before on international tv." Problem solved.
The only thing I can think of is why this hasn’t come up until now.
Because nobody cared about women’s sports for the first 10,000 years of the human race
it has been around for decades. At least since the controversies surrounding the GDR athletes in the 1980s. The difference in public awareness is probably because now Elon Musk is trying to exploit it for financial/political reasons.
Actually has been out since FOR EVER ,just ppl doesn't bother looking
Because no one cared. Now, republicans have spent 3 years pushing trans hate propaganda and implanting it into everyone’s minds. It’s very simple and easy to see.
Simply because algeria is supporting Palestine
There should be a special track instead of putting him directly on the women's track.
Thank you because I needed this from a medical professional...not all these political web doctors lol
End of.
Their brains are blowing up right now 🤯😂😂😂

Well done. Good, sober, and human explanation of a complex situation.
Excuse me… complex? Whats so hard to comprehend about a man beating up a woman 😂
no. he should have just said this is biologically and scientifically ridiculous that this MAN was allowed to box.
So true🎉🎉🎉
@@bluester7177 Is it true in Imane’s case though ? Doesn’t Imane clearly look more Masculine and strong ? Clearly overshadowing the opponent. Just use your eyes. Don’t you feel it’s unfair ?
Where did you get Imane's chromosomes? Kremlev obviously lied.
How is she ineligible when she's already lost against nine other women? 😂😂
I agree
no ur just a little man so this woman looks like a man to you ❤ hope this helps
We should just ban taller and bigger men right? Since most men wouldn't be able to compete.

You said this so thoughtfully and intelligently. Thank you for providing some more understanding to a very complicated and sensitive issue
But still a Y chromosome and expressing itself enough for everyone to see in the male physique. You can't just accept his opinion based on him being a doctor. Doctors are the ones who also believe you can be born in the wrong body necessatitatiing mutilation surgery to 'change sex'. You cannot just accept what a doctor says unfortunately. That's where we are.

Hes obviously not 100% female lol
Um I thought she was a 'woman hemmie'. Someone who has both parts but ability to get pregnant and give birth. (I've seen a documentary about a woman like this, she looks like a man, has some male parts but got pregnant and gave birth). But Iman doesn't have any female parts, just abnormal male ones.
No. There was no loophole. Nor was it "closed". If it were, she wouldn't have been allowed to compete, nor Olympics players over the past 50 years
@@xx133 it was reported numerous time's, Caster Semenya was banned and stripped due to it. Just like this current athlete is banned by boxing but not by the Olympics committee hence why they're able to compete with a spiked testosterone level.
There is a HUGE difference between somebody drugged and juiced with testosterone, and somebody born like that.
The East Germans were so pumped full of steroids in that era it didn’t matter what loopholes there was.

Well, after 10 minutes of viewing, I learned absolutely nothing about this particular situation. But thanks for the refresher course in genetics.
I thought the same thing. in the end, if there is an advantage then its not fair and should not be allowed.
Not reality
He is a bloke and Ur talking nonsense
### Sports Performance, Specifically Boxing:
1. **Physical and Hormonal Considerations**:
- **XY Gonadal Dysgenesis Without Hormone Replacement Therapy**:
- Without hormone replacement therapy, individuals with XY gonadal dysgenesis will have very low levels of sex hormones (both estrogen and testosterone).
- This would result in minimal muscle development and physical strength compared to typical XX females and individuals with mild PAIS.
- They would likely have lower bone density and weaker physical endurance.
- **Mild PAIS**:
- Individuals with mild PAIS, due to their partial sensitivity to androgens, might have higher levels of testosterone than typical females.
- This can lead to increased muscle mass, strength, and endurance compared to typical XX females.
- Even with partial androgen insensitivity, the presence of higher testosterone levels can provide a significant advantage in sports requiring physical strength and endurance, such as boxing.
2. **Advantages and Disadvantages**:
- **XY Gonadal Dysgenesis Without Hormone Replacement Therapy**:
- Likely at a disadvantage in physical sports like boxing due to lack of muscle development, low bone density, and poor physical endurance.
- May have difficulties competing effectively against typical XX females and individuals with mild PAIS.
- **Mild PAIS**:
- *Likely to have a physical advantage over typical XX females due to higher testosterone levels, resulting in increased muscle mass and strength*.
- This advantage would be more pronounced if hormone levels are not regulated, as the natural higher testosterone levels can enhance physical performance significantly.
### Summary:
- **Puberty**: Individuals with XY gonadal dysgenesis without hormone replacement therapy do not undergo puberty and lack secondary sexual characteristics.

Based on what he said they could be male or female, why do they always go for the female sport?

Is it just me or do you get the highest amount of trans/sex ambiguous athletes in the female divisions of combat sports? Just realised I’ve never seen anything about these types of athletes competing in gymnastics
Great point.
Males and females do not do the same events in gymnastics. There are lots of videos out there of gymnasts trying out the events that the opposite sex performs and they can’t do it. The events they compete in are designed for a certain body type. So in gymnastics it would actually be a disadvantage to compete as the other gender.
The most prominent one was in track and field!
That's a great point, and I'm glad you brought it up. If cisgender women generally have physical advantages over trans women, why are people blaming Imane Khelif?
The answer lies in misconceptions, biases, and a lack of understanding about trans athletes and hormone therapy. Some people assume that:
Imane Khelif is being blamed due to:
