I have this set plus the "cook and eat" set which has 2 small plates, 2 sporks, silicone pot holder/trivet, cutting board and plastic lid for the skillet. I would pair both sets together to make a complete kitchen set
I have the same set (with the plates) but I think it is called the Adventure "all-in-one fry pan set". I also have the "Nesting 2 cup cook set" & "All-in-one two bowl set" from the Adventure series. I combine all three sets when needed. Great stuff at an affordable price.
On the topic of combining stuff with this pot - I've found that you can fit the Optimus Polaris stove and pump inside this pot, which is nice since while the Optimus Polaris is probably the best stove in terms of fuel versatility and maybe durability, it's somewhat large, somewhat heavy (and very loud). It's not that easy to find a good way to carry the stove and this pot is perfect for transporting the stove and it's components (minus the fuel sources). Obviously you'd have to forgo the bowls and such that come in the pot.
I've used this set for the last 3 years mostly for car camping. This thing is durable. I've removed the tab on the lid and replace with a metal ring and added a 5"x2" cake pan. Makes for the perfect baking oven. I make cornbread in this thing all the time. Just add mix, throw a couple small rocks in pot to keep the cake pan off the bottom, throw the covered pot into coals and place some extra coals on the lid. 15min later, perfect cornbread.
Just used this last night with my son. We had Ribeye's and candied carrots. Used the pan ladle and bowls for the carrots and then found out we forgot the plates. Cut the steaks in half and used the "cutting boards" and it worked great! Love the set...Keith D
I have used the adventure cook kit for years. It has literally never let me down. I would think this kit could be good for a Bushcraft or winter adventure.
Hi Luke, I believe Stanley looked at building a kit that would hold items that usually don't fit well together/easily such as the utensils. Most of us can stuff a spoon/fork into a cook kit, so Stanley thought, "Let's make the utensils fit since most can get their sporks to work." Keep the great reviews coming!!!
I love this entire kit and the utensils come in handy quite often for my cooking methods. Stanley kits are amazing and probably 60% of my kitchen set (overland camping) are Stanley products. I love the single wall canteens with double lids for coffee on the road. I place two koozies on the outside and that keeps my coffee or tea warm and the two lids keep spillage to a minimum, if any. For cold drinks, I put them filled with my favorite beverage, place them in my refrigerator and they stay ice cold for hours after removing them to enjoy.
I have the same kit. Works well for "car" camping. We are not much of backpackers. I've had mine for at least 10+ years and no problems. The plastic spoons work better for cold salads etc. We use metal utensils for the cooking. Thanks for the review!
Glad you liked it! I wanted to give it to someone who could use it. The utensils are for spaghetti as far as the spoon. The spatula really isn't useful in a pot.
I have this cookset and works well for my purposes. Unless I'm car-camping, I only take the pot and lid with me. I leave behind the bowls, cutting boards, and spatula. Without all that stuff, you can fit a large 220g propane fuel canister and washcloth inside the pot with the lid closed.
I’ve had this kit and have used it extensively for years. I pick and choose which parts I take with me when I use it. It’s been perfect, durable, and useful. I haven’t had any issue with the tab melting, and I’ve used the cutting boards for their intended use many times with no issue. The spatula also works very well, but can be hard to clean , especially with eggs.
Thanks for the thorough review Luke. As for the tab on the pot lid, it can be removed by pushing the pin out of it and then just replace the tab with a 32mmsplit ring or a #2 S-biner. There are mods that can be done to this system to increase it's functionality, James at Waypoint Survival has some nice hacks/mods for this cook set. All in all it's not a bad system, but I do believe it can be improved upon. One unfortunate thing is that the price has currently gone up US$5.00 for the set. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with this cook set. Your review is spot on.
I heard once that when you clean the pot, rub bar soap all around the outside but don’t rub it off. It’s supposed to keep it from getting as dirty and it’s easier to clean afterwards. It’s worth a try!
Luke, I am so glad you liked this kit! It did show that you could put a canister in this kit and maybe a small stove. The bowls are nice. The spoon in some of the newer kits is much better, so maybe they heard you!
These are great kits and well worth the money. The spoon/fork comes in the all-in-one fry pan kit with the 2 plates. The small 24oz pot comes with the 2 cups. I own all 3 kits (pot w/2 bowls, small pot with 2 cups, fry pan with 2 plates) and paid about $75 in total. I really like how a person can take what they need and leave what they don't depending on each situation. I call them the perfect affordable 2 person camp cook set.
I really like Stanley products. As a matter of fact I have alternative cook set but my go to is my Stanley 20 oz...the very 1st one I purchased when I started backpacking. I have smaller lighter sets but I still use it almost every trip!
I've had this for years. It's replaced my MSR Seagull which sits in the closet now. The Stanley handle is much more sturdy and I like larger pot. When it comes to cooksets Stanley hasn't let me down.
For the money Stanley has it covered and their gear is outstanding as far im concerned the utensils really are not that big a deal just add what ya need and build it how ya want and ur good to go
One Con that I see, you probably would not notice, being in the US. The markings are based on US measure, rather then marking 16oz then 473ml (which is a pretty useless number) they should have marked 16oz,24oz, 32oz, then 500ml,750ml, 1L a little higher up. This would make it more useful outside the US.
Love the cook set...Mine came with an extra smaller pot and cutting board. Comes in handy camping or when you out enjoying nature at its best. I think its a perfect cook set for outdoors and even for indoors as well. Something set aside from conventional use of normal kitchen ware because its compact. Thumbs Up to Stanley
I love our set and just got back from using it at the lake today. We have owned ours for about 4 years now and not once used the utensils. Great product. Need to get more bowls in our case.
Good review, Luke. I like the things I’ve seen from Stanley, their other cook set, the thermos. If they would hit my wish list, they would make a pot with a skillet lid, filled with a stove, a long handle spoon, a spice kit/oil bottle in decent carry bag, for $35.00. Heh, heh... Texas
I agree 👍🏽 I love the adventure cook cup also has 2 green plastic cups inside. Infact it's a mini me version of the cookset Luke just reviewed !! 😅😊 LoL I like there stuff !!!! Well, for car camping but it's not what I use for backpacking. To heavy for packing Unless you r into Bushcraft.
@@lonetrader1 looking into it won't fill it up with smooth silky hot coffee ☕ 😂😆😂lol !!!!! Aside from teasing you I do hope you'll enjoy it if I buy it ☺️ save the package and take it back if it doesn't work out for you right !! Peace ☮️ My friend and keep on rocking the free world 🌍
I have several of their products. The camp cook set, which comes with a backpacking style pot and 2 small cups. This set featured in the video. The frypan cookset. And the adventure bowl + spork compact cookset. Which is kinda a modernized version of the camp cookset. I love them all. I use the pot from the 2 bowl set all the time. I don't really care for the ladle and spatula. Although they are in my camping gear tub as they are too good to throw away.
I used the spatula with my stainless steel fry pan and it worked well. I did replace the plastic tab with a key ring when I got the kit due to multiple reviews complaining about it.
I have a lot of miles on all my Stanley systems! I'm surprised you didn't mention the handle safety slide lock. It really comes in handy when you got a full pot of water.
I have owned this kit for several years. I did discard the bowls & cooking utensils. The pot itself is worth the money and has been in my camping pantry kit since.
I love this kit. I take the entire kit car camping. The spatula I have used for flipping burgers etc but have never used the ladle. I have used it backpacking a few times to make a larger meal for the group but only in shorter trips (only took the pot with lid). Walmart carries them for $25.
I have this kit and love it, i use the spatula with my skillet so i do like that as well. The bowls work great and in cooler weather the lids come in handy if you are cooking a 2nd course in your pot and have to keep stuff warm.
I own the set, I just use it for boiling water and I use the spatula with my frying pan. I would have replaced the ladle and spatula with 2 sporks. I do own the Adventure Nesting Two Cup Cookset for backpacking and Stanley Adventure Stainless Fry Pan Camp Cook Set car camping. I agree Stanley doesn't make the lightest gear however they are super durable!! Thanks for the reviews.
I have this pot, it is a beast. I actually have several Stanley pots and have NEVER had an issue with the lid tab on any of them. I use the two cup adventure set almost every day in my coffee kit.
I kinda dig this kit Luke.. I agree with your personal view, I think for car camping the pan, lid and a bowl would service! Add a canister and a BRS Ti Stove, bandana, 1/2 a Scotch Brite and a mini Dawn, you're set... Oh ya, a Toaks Long Spoon and Windscreen! Mark..
Hey Luke, I ended up tossing the bowls and ladle pretty quickly. I like having a pot that can cook for two if I need it, and inside I nest an msr stove and fuel canister with the collapsible x bowl and x mug from Sea to Summit. All of that fits with the lid closed and handle locked. I think it’s a good start aimed mostly a car or trailer camping, but can be customized for other uses. I would like to see Stanley do a more complete kit with a fry pan that nested, more like the trangia kits.
I recently bought this exact set to keep in a new pop up camper, so the weight isn’t an issue for me. Seems to be a great little piece of cooking gear so far!
I Have and used this kit several times. Have used the spatula with a different pan. It works great when you forget the larger one. Those cutting boards are more or less a joke. However, in a pinch I have used them, better than nothing. Used the bowls several times. For car camping with minimal gear, its a great piece of gear. I really like your videos, keep them coming. Take care
Had one. The handle failed (broke) after a year of near constant use. The utensils enforce the motto: if it's removable, it's losable. I'm solo, so the 2 bowls are at home. They're good bowls. Any outdoors pot should have a bail along with or instead of, the wire handles. My current kit is a Halulite Ketalist plus a regular metal cup. Pocket Rocket fits either one.
I have so much Stanley stuff, all awesome including this kit. It's big enough to fry chicken a piece at a time. Their Boil n Brew is the most versatile and simple coffee maker on the market.
I love this (partial) kit! I use the pot, Lid, and 1 bowl, and add a spork, butane canister, and a cheap amazon pocket stove. After 2 years and at least monthly use for scout campouts, it holds up great.
I have this, the $15 cook cup set, and the coffee press and I love them all. That said, and you did mention it, both this and the cook cup set I leave items behind. No need for a plastic spatula in a steel pot, but maybe the ladle would be helpful for soups or stews. My go to is the cook cup set.
Luke👍👍 Good review. Stanley products for the most part rock, been using them in one form or another for years. No failures or problems and service life is incredible. I mixed and matched several of their cook kit products, made a canvas bag, added a few extras and have a bomb proof kit. Stainless is always a bit heavier but survives every adventure I'm on, foot or other. This set has pros and cons like all other sets, YMMV. Thanks for the video.
Would like to see kit you put together. I have several Stanley sets and have been diapointed with each. The only parts of each set that I like is always the SS pot that the rest is to support which in my opinion is near useless. Of late I have been using tin cans of various sizes to build a one person kit. Light, nesting and compact. Just need to oil the inside of cans a bit to prohibit rust.
I have this set. Never used the utensils, good pot with nesting bowls. On an overnighter I did not take bowls and stored my fuel in it like he mentions. I recently got a smaller and cheaper cookset but it tries to warp on my backpacking stove, the Stanley set is really good quality
What impresses me so much about it is the hacks that can be added. The lid can become a skillet, there is a canvas bag for it that is designed as a water pre filter, it can be turned into an oven' or a toaster, there is a mod to hang it while keeping the lid free to be removed or replaced, it can be used as a solar cook pot, lots of gear can be stowed inside it, just lots of things.
I have the same thing only with an additional larger pot nested. It is called the Stanley 2 Pot Prep and Cook set. The one in the video is a 1.58 qt pot . With mine it has that one and all the bowls nested in an additional 2.5 qt pot with lid. This allows me some versatility as I go with the bigger pot when camping with more people. As for the bowls and utensils they may come in handy depending on the menu but usually leave them home. The ladle is useful when making pasta though. I pair this up with the Stanley prep and cook set which is the 8" skillet, plates and utensils and find it handy as well
I have the adventure cook set and the coffee press both by Stanley. I recently have seen the fry pan set and will probably add that to my collection. As I use this on my motorcycle this set is too large for me but the value you get from the Stanley in relation to cost is outstanding
I have this set as well as a pair of the 2 cup set and the complete base camp kit . I don't really backpack anymore since my bike accident but these really shine when car camping. I keep all of them in my chuck box which stays in the back of my truck.
I have the pro and the camp set. Both come with laddles as you know. What I did is drilled holes in one of the ladles and now I have a drain spoon. Works good for stews.
I have the Base Camp 4X pot, and it's a beast. Heavy, but has just about everything you'd want or need for four people. Plates, bowls, sporks, trivet, hot pad, "cutting board" (yeah, pretty small but functional), a skillet, spatula, and a proper stirring spoon that attaches like the ones in the 2-bowl cook set. Same kind of lid with a bungee-type cord to hold everything in place. In spite of the weight that these larger cook sets entail, they would be well worth their weight in functionality. If you were using it in a winter environment, or a bicycle/motorcycle/pull-behind small trailer/car camping situation, it would be ideal. BTW Barkeeper's Friend has been around since before I was a kid, and I've used it plenty. Great stuff, comparable to Comet (no product endorsement, just comparison). Thank you for what you do. S&H.
I just bought 3 of their various sizes of "unbreakable" insulated containers. Plus, I bought their insulated coffee mug w/the lid. With their promise of 48 hr to keep my coffee hot, I figured I could brew 2 days of coffee at a time. Cant wait!
I have the two pot set. I riveted removable bail hanger on both pots. work great. You have to remove the handles for balance when using the bails to suspend
Stanley has awesome products. I think stanley was thinking about group camping and cooking, probably why Stanley included the spatula and ladle. I have the stanley delux base camp and it's a fantastic group car camping kit.
I agree with your assessment Luke. I have this kit and find it to be a good car camping kit. I did find the spatula a bit head scratching since there is not a fry pan with the kit.
I've never seen this kit either. I like it, although I agree that the lids can be cutting boards! Stanley does make quality products. The spatula and spoon is a good idea and could be useful, but yeah, doesn't seem necessary. Overall a good kit for the cost!
I own quite a few different Stanley cooking sets. Different sizes and types. And one thing is consistent. . The quality, for the money, can not be matched. All of them preform outstandingly.
I have this kit also. I agree with you though, leave out those utensils and use the ones you want to put inside. I only use spatulas for fry pans and not pots. Have taken this kit on a few car camping trips and have only cooked over a propane stove with it, haven't used it over a fire yet. So far, so good. 👍
I have the small, medium, and large versions of the Stanley kits. By far some of the best pieces of equipment I have. Very versatile, packable, and reliable.
Picked one up at Walmart yesterday.... $25 is there everyday price, seemed like a no brainer. Big Stanley fan, great kit, may not use the utensils for this kit, but certainly spatula for my skillet and grilling and thinking I may try cutting / molding ladle into a sayte / kitchen spoon, better quality than most plastic kitchen utensils I've seen from other manufacturers and the beatings great. The "cutting boards", yeah, those are lids and only lids, but nice on buggy days, cover your food between bites!!! Another great review
I have been eyeing this set as I have the smaller Stanley two cup pot set and I take it with me every adventure I did replace the tab with a key ring and you are exactly right the performance is outstanding over any heat source Thank you for this review on this product, I take a lot of value in the reviews you provide for all of us 🍁☕️
I've been looking for a small pot for my RV and that I can also use on top of an open fire. This set was perfect, I replaced the plastic tab with a key ring no problems, and threw away the spatulas. I keep some steel wool, a little sponge, and a small bottle of Dr Bonners dish soap in it. Oh, and I have used the silly cutting boards. They do the job surprisingly.
I actually like the spatula because I cook a 🍔 in the evening sometimes on cold backpacking trips. The ladle I can do with out. I can pour soup and even use the spatula for larger potatoes or veggies. I totally agree with you, I so wish it came with a foldable spork. But all in all I love the stainless steel and the bowl. I would rather have the lid with out the ladle hole. In other words complete coverage, it is windy and dusty in my area! Just my thoughts, for what it is worth.
Stanley always makes some great stuff. Not sure where i would use something like this i do more backpacking than camping but it would be great in a group camp or power outage
I keep these pots and the Stanley Adventure frying pan kit in my 'Bug In' emergency kit with a two burner Coleman stove. Mainly because they are thinner and smaller than my kitchen pans and require less fuel consumption. For camping I have a Pathfinder Bushpot and my emergency evacuation kit has a MSR pot. My EDC kit has the tall Stanley pot with two cups.
I have this kit and it stays in my ice fishing gear and I have used all the pieces and haven’t had any problems and I find it to be a very solid kit impo
I use this set every camping trip. The spatula is better for serving that for using in my tiny cast iron frying pan. The ladle is great for measuring and even as a drinking cup. I p 5:49 aid $25 for mine and it looks like new 100 usages later.
I agree with the fork and spoon idea. I somewhat understand the ladle although not necessarily needed, but the spatula is a stretch. It's a cook pot not a frying pan. Always love their quality and prices tend to be very good. Thanks for the review.
When Stanley introduced this camp pot it was $25 for just the pot, lid, and 2 bowls (maybe 2 sporks, but I don’t use those). This is perfect for me while camping & then while staying at a friend’s Apt while they recovered from illness (I could never find anything in their kitchen so I just used this & an 8” pan). I agree that the spatchla & ladle/spoon is useless, so I’m glad I didn’t pay for them.
I have the single size and this size. Replaced pladticvtab on both with a large key ring. I leave all the plastic stuff home when I go out. I use my uco sport for eating and a cup that nests outside the single and inside the double for coffee
Icing on the cake would have been if the lids snapped together? I have been using mine for several cooks, and notched one lid so it will now snap to the other for a larger cutting board. Thanks for all the product reviews Luke!
" Nice, well made set. A couple tips: You should slide the little cross bar on the handle towards the pot, to lock it and keep the handle arms from moving inward, like when you're folding it for storage. Get a couple Dollar Tree, flexible cutting boards, and cut to fit inside the lids, so you have the stability of the lids, but without cutting into the actual plastic. A silicone pot holder fits well into the kit ( also Dollar Tree)."
I love my Stanley sets. Yes you have a bit of weight but if you're on a budget it rocks thanks for the review Luke hope you and Susie are doing well God bless
I have the baby brother version, the Stanley Adventure Cup Set, I don't use it all that often as I switched to titanium mug and spirit stove, but I love my Stanley Kit. It's one of those bits of kit that just makes me smile when I see it in my gear shelf. Every stain, scratch and scorch mark is a scar from an adventure. I'll never part with it and it'll likely out live me... All that said... I don't feel the need to buy the pot set, it looks good, but I doubt I'd pick it over my titanium mugs.
I have this set plus the "cook and eat" set which has 2 small plates, 2 sporks, silicone pot holder/trivet, cutting board and plastic lid for the skillet. I would pair both sets together to make a complete kitchen set
I was going to suggest the same. Thank you for the unintended affirmation lol
I have both also... together they are a complete set.
I did precisely that too. I have a wonderful camp cooking set. I don't backpack so this works for me. It is also part of my hurricane bug out system.
I have the same set (with the plates) but I think it is called the Adventure "all-in-one fry pan set". I also have the "Nesting 2 cup cook set" & "All-in-one two bowl set" from the Adventure series. I combine all three sets when needed. Great stuff at an affordable price.

Stanley pots are well made. I have the adventure set with two size pots with everything for 75 bucks couple years back. Still using it today.
'you have to be careful ' excellent advice for all walks of life!

I have the base camp kit. I do like these systems. Really great value.
Bought this set last year. It’s worth the money. I haven’t used the pot yet but everything else works good for me.

My two cents, I can agree with you on all points and suggestions.
I pair this up with the Stanley prep and cook set which is the 8" skillet, plates and utensils and find it handy as well
Thanks Luke good review. Strength and Honor.
I have the adventure cook set and the coffee press both by Stanley. I recently have seen the fry pan set and will probably add that to my collection. As I use this on my motorcycle this set is too large for me but the value you get from the Stanley in relation to cost is outstanding
Looks like a good buy to me. Especially the durability and support from Stanley.
Looks like a nice cook set. The utensils are something I don’t always have so they would come in handy.
I too thought the utensils looked handy. To each their own
I have this set as well as a pair of the 2 cup set and the complete base camp kit .
Stanley makes good stuff at a fair price. Thanks for your review.
I agree with your assessment Luke. I have this kit and find it to be a good car camping kit. I did find the spatula a bit head scratching since there is not a fry pan with the kit.
About a year ago I got mine. I've used everything in the kit. Cutting boards suck. Overall I like it.
I've never seen this kit either. I like it, although I agree that the lids can be cutting boards! Stanley does make quality products. The spatula and spoon is a good idea and could be useful, but yeah, doesn't seem necessary. Overall a good kit for the cost!
Thanks for the review. You've got an amazing reach. This product is already $15-20 more than your original price posted.
WalMart has them for $25 😀
I own quite a few different Stanley cooking sets.
I have their coffee press. I have to say that Stanley makes quality camping gear. Thanks for the review.
Good honest review Luke.Seems like bowls would be handy for truck camping. Soup, oatmeal, cereal ect.Need some kind of stuff sack. Thanks have fun.
I have this and the fry pan set and two cup cook pot that is all me and my wife need for all our camping
Seems like a good deal. I think most people might already have sporks etc to eat with and not a folding spatula so I prefer the cook utensils
For the price the Stanley camp cookware line is an awesome value. I'm a trucker and I use this cookset while on the road.
As usual Luke your right on the money
I have this kit and it stays in my ice fishing gear and I have used all the pieces and haven’t had any problems and I find it to be a very solid kit impo
Glad you liked it. I wanted to give it to someone who could use it.
I drilled a 1/2 inch hole through the green plastic lid lift tab using a forstner drill bit.
I have the same kit and mostly use on my twig stove. Works great I don't use the utensils and the cutting board I use more as a small plate.
have you seen the wire hanger bail mod to use with the handle to hang over a fire? You just have to drill one hole in the pot itself to make it work.
I love my Stanley sets. Yes you have a bit of weight but if you're on a budget it rocks thanks for the review Luke hope you and Susie are doing well God bless
It's a great little kit, you need to check out there fry pan as well.
On a scale from 1 -> 10 , 10 being the best and 1 the worst , what do you give it cuz in my opinion it deserves a solid 7,5 or an 8
I have the "coffee cup" set that I bought from Walmart a few years ago for 13 bucks. I've been impressed with it for the money paid.
Great review Luke. I've got the Adventure cook set/cups and it's great. Now I'll have to check this one out.
Bar keepers friend is great for taking rust off of a knife, like Damascus, without messing up the etch on it.
