  • When the people at Stanley reached out to me to see if I was interested in reviewing some of their cooking products, I saw the Basecamp Cook Set and the Even Heat Coot Set and wasn't too sure about all the differences...never mind how they would apply to my camping needs. So in this video we dissect both sets to get a better feel for which kit matches the intended need...heavy duty cooking, or cooking/serving and eating.

I use my large base camp pot on the fire for large amounts of warm water, to make tea, coffee, wash dishes. I use the skillet more for cooking. I have the Stanley two bowl and pan set. The pan is a great size snd I love the spatula and ladle. Use the bowls more than the plates. The lids for the bowls I use to prep food on then to cover the food when there are thieving birds around trying to steal what I’m cooking up.

My biggest complaint is that I need a couple items from one set and a couple items from the other set. You can't buy them individually so I'd be stuck buying both sets and only using a couple pieces from each. If I could get just the "sauce pan" from the larger set I'd be a happy camper.

I'm a STANLEY COOKWARE collector. I believe that I now own every different cook set they make, some I have duplicates. But those two sets I've held off buying because they are so large for just my husband and myself. That said, after your awesome review I believe the "even heat" set would be a great addition to my collection. I can also see myself using that set in my Motorcoach for weekender trips to Daytona and NASCAR Tailgating.
Thanks for a great in-depth, easy to understand review.

Top quality products. Good for emergency situations as well. I keep a double pot, frying pan, water bottle and the two cups pot in my emergency kits. My regular pots and pans take up too much energy to cook over a propane Coleman stove. These are much better option plus you can take them with you. I am a single person so these pots are a bit too big for me. I see they came up with a 1 L pot which I might check out.

Noticed that both of those sets had a nice metal handle on the lids. Wish they incorporated that bit of brilliance into the lid of the small 2 cup cook set lid instead of the plastic tab handle. The key ring hack works ok for a fall back.

I bought the pro. The bottom is thick,he doesn't show that. I would say a good 1/2 inch. It's bigger than my black iron pan.
The pots are huge. Probably bigger than you want, but I love them. I made a pot of chili and fried pork. It served 8 people and had some let over.
The smaller pot is my favorite.
The frying pan is huge. You can easily cook steak or chicken.
One thing to remember about the Pro Set. It doesn't take much heat to get them hot, and they stay hot. You can tell that the Pro Set was very well thought out and probably the best cookware I ever owned

I bought the base camp since I couldn’t make up my mind between the two sets. Love the pot, cooks great every time. The pan however, everything sticks, maybe I need to use a lot more oil, I Dk. The spatula tip melted the first time I tried it during a test run while cooking eggs. It was with light use as well so wasn’t happy about that. I do love Stanley products but there is some work to be done yet to make those extras a bit more stronger.

The really like Stanley stuff, just wish they would release a pot set for one. Something similar to the two person pot or a shorter version on the adventure cup. I have both and love them, but they don’t quite work great for one person/solo hiking. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
