Don't listen to the idiot in the reviews talking about a crypto miner, there is not one, it's total made up FUD. This is epic software, I recommend it wholeheartedly. The team are awesome(especially Justin, who I have spoken to at length personally), they have a genuine interest in pushing the envelope and seeing just how good we can make interpolation. They will listen to feedback and new ideas and unlike many developers(especially in this scene) they do not let their ego get in the way. If you want the best of the best for interpolation look no further. It even handles HDR input and output which nothing else does.
I bought this software and been experimenting a lot with different options, GMFSS is definitely is next step from Rife, which i find to do a good job with anime / cartoons, but for high motion movies it makes mistakes. With RTX 4090 2h movie takes 94 hours, but i think its worth it for the best movies out there, you want to re-experience them in a new way where every character and movements becomes alive and real and I can't go back to 23 fps anymore as it looks so stuttery. Also after GMFSS encoding upscale is needed for some older movies to get image cleaner and sharper, that takes around ~13h as well with the best algos and AV1 - 144fps.
Are you using gpu av1? And pg104 gmfss? That's the best model so far. If you're upscaling you should definitely do it at the same time as interpolation so there's only 1 encode
@@displaytalk each video requires its own upscaling options imo, so i use topaz video enhance afterwards. i don't have pro version yet but i don't feel the need of those options.
@@BorealSine well svfi has basically every ai upscaling model. I don't use ai upscaling myself so I don't use any of them. Totally content with just using B-Spline Bicubic at playtime in mpv, even with dvd to 4k. Anyways encoding twice is no good, you want as few re encodes as possible
@@displaytalk I've not seen similar options to what topaz video enhance has, its just a tick to upscale a video in svfi, no other options. Also svfi doesn't save all audio tracks, so i have to re-add them after all these processes with mkv tool, takes few minutes. SVFI has option to save audio but it only saves 1 track, but movies im encoding has 7 voice-overs.
@@BorealSine Well SVFI gets new upscale models all the time. I can see all the models, but I am in the alpha(same as the beta branch which you can opt into in the steam preferences for svfi) and bought pro.
So we can use this for full movies
You can use any of the 3 interpolation methods I showed to watch a movie. This will work for any video you want. Gmfss takes an insanely long time though even just to double the framerate. You can make it go faster by outputting 720p or 480p
@@displaytalk How long to make Avatar 120fps at the highest quality?
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 uhh to hazard a guess probably like a week or more with gmfss on a 3080
How long does it take to double the framerate for 1 anime episode? I have a 3070ti
A few hours.
Where do you get SVFI Community Edition 3.22.1 or newer? The GitHub you linked only hosts 3.2 and it doesn't appear to have an English interface. Thanks.
Steam. I bought the full $60 version but there's also a $6 one. And a demo
Thanks for clarifying. I asked because in the first seconds of the video you called it 'the free version'.
So it's actually $6 community version and $60 professional.
@@TehPandaShogun Yeah, I realized that mistake after I made the video. The free version on github is really outdated. What's shown in the video is the $6 one, I launched that version to do this video even though I own the pro version
@@displaytalk dude got scammed, $60 is criminal when open source is better quality and faster
@@huk2617 Show me a free gmfss setup where I can use a tc list and interpolate in tiny chunks and then save those chunks to re do only a few minutes of the video in the future? I'm all ears. I can't code something like that by myself
Does it also convert sdr to hdr , does it work with intel gpus and is there a 120fps hdr video player ? Thanks in advance!
Yes, it does do SDR to HDR tonemapping, I haven't used that feature in SVFI so I don't know if it's any good. I think the ncnn stuff will work with intel gpus but it's not going to be fast. Even a 3080 is slow for this stuff. And yes there is a way to watch 120fps interpolated HDR content in realtime with SVPRife TRT. Watch my video on that for instructions. You will need to downscale though, even a 4090 can't do realtime 4k120 with trt SVPRife 4.6. Definitely can downscale to 1080p120 and still keep HDR output
@@displaytalk thank you ! I’ll check the video on SVPRife TRT .
@@displaytalk , my pc is not very powerful and I don’t think it’ll be able to play even 720p30 with SVPRife TRT , do you know a video player that can at least play hdr ? Your help is greatly appreciated
@@jacktoreto7376 Yeah MPV can play HDR
@@displaytalk , thanks a lot , the sdr to hdr option is greyed out do you know why ?
