With every travel review Kevin posts, it becomes more polarizing for me only in the sense of how good his videos are; how much content, information, and perspective is conveyed, compared to others. I don't quite understand how there are other travel vloggers, many with 1M+ subs, quite a few who never even say one word - only using subtitles, achieve those levels with the videos they produce.
Thanks very much. All I’d say is never under estimate the ‘value’ of a particular audience. My audience of 100k subs who subscribed at a slow and steady pace for the content and not for the drama or the clickbait is in many ways more valuable than an audience of 1M subs acquired in… other ways.
If I hadn’t seen the intro and would have started watching from the pool area onwards, I would have believed it was some AI generated resort. It all came across as very surreal to me, like Truman Show’esque. Your commentary and the GIANT FLIP FLOP made for great entertainment, thank you as always! ☀️🎉
Ah you're right- actually there was a quality about it that I felt I didn't get to describe correctly- couldn't think of how to do it- but I think the AI comment is just it. "Make a breezy oceanfront resort with refreshing colors, an easy layout and lots of balconies" haha.
I really appreciate your honesty. As a Mexican usually when we get video reviews on this All Inclusive hotels our RUclipsr’s I don’t feel are all that transparent. Usually because they have been paid to do the video or they have a travel agency and want to sell you something. Anyway keep the awesome reviews and thank you for your being so transparent. BTW your video about Barceló was on point. Barcelo at least in Mexico are very disappointing at so many levels that frankly it’s embarrassing.
Agreed- the amount of crap content about Mexico blew my mind. I think it's a market that just isn't taken seriously for a few reasons I can imagine, but that's fine with me- more high quality audience for me to find lol
I'm grateful for an honest review. I'm heading there soon....a few things on my checklist of preference have me a bit concerned and now I know what to be prepared for! Thank you!!!
Fun commentary. Brutally honest as usual. Glad the food was good. sorry the noise insulation was poor. That buffet was the biggest I’ve ever seen! I think I will avoid this place, think I am too old for it.
This is one of those strange ones where I think 45% of people would say they're too old for it... and 45% of people would say they're too young for it haha. They're looking for that very specific 10%!
Love your videos, keep making them, just a suggestion to spend 2-3 days at each place so you can more fully comment on a resorts food program, and also overall perspective!
Que onda Kevin, thanks for your vid. Have you ever done a personal vid about your lifestyle? I'm sure I'm not the only curious one. I also live permanently nomadically, but in a much different style, so would be interested to hear the thought process behind your lifestyle, why you make certain choices over others etc.
I can only assume you've been to at least one of Jimmy's concerts. I turned my mom on to Jimmy when she was in her 60's and she was still rocking to his concerts in her late '70s-esrly 80's. RIP Jimmy.🎉
I am of a different era. I've never been to one of his restaurants, but the only reason I know who he is is from the restaurants which started popping up many years ago lol
I've been using Thule backpacks for years. No relationship with them, but they are just the right mix of decent price and durability. The prices are low enough to change things up each year based on my needs without breaking the bank.
I’ve traveled from end to end of both countries previously and plan to have some flight content from them next year, but I’m not sure hotel reviews from the region would attract enough of an audience.
If this channel was a collection of 280 Park Hyatt and Singapore Airlines reviews (aka reviews all based on my personal tastes), it would be boring to watch- and to make lol. I’m not here to judge personal taste, I’m here to show some of what’s on offer. Case in point reviewing the Hilton and Waldorf in Cancun. If I didn’t visit the Hilton, I wouldn’t have really known how much of an absurd waste of money the WA was.
The room looks really nice. But I've watched too many horror stories, especially the cruises to get excited about Margaritaville. I'm not a massive party guy. I prefer to sip my gin tonics in a quiet corner. I think the price/ value is decent though. Also, I've noticed ashtrays on some of your balconies during this Mexico series. How does it differ to the USA? In mainland Europe it is still quite common and the smoke does waft around.
Kevin: Just wanted to bring to your attention, Both Margaritaville beach resorts, in Mexico and Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, are big and beautiful, but they have a real negative thing in common: NONE OF THEM HAVE A BEACH AT ALL !!!! It’s just completely impenetrable, none and impossible walking access area to what could be considered “beach area” at all, with a combination of solid rocks, coral, sea weed, sargassum, etc, etc. How can a beach resort, could possibly call and consider themselves a “beach resort” with absolutely no beach at all to offer? That’s the number one reason and attraction for most vacationers and travelers to go for. Margaritaville is a perfect POOL RESORT ONLY, with good food and a very good variety of drinks to offer and that’s it. And on top of that, both Mexico and Cap Cana, DR, don’t have a dance club area, or Disco area, like all regular and even smaller beach resorts have. How can a place like Margaritaville, who’s name came from the most popular and famous Jimmy Buffet hit song(the song that became and transformed into an enterprise), don’t have a place for people to celebrate and dance for whatever reason/occasion people could possibly have? Some dishonest Yotubers that have been filming in both places, show absolutely everything about Margaritaville, but they absolutely and completely avoid, don’t even mention, talk about and never include at all, the hidden truth about the no beach at all issue in their RUclips videos. No thank you.
Hmm…. Love the diversity of hotels Mr Kevin. Couldn’t help feeling the Margaritaville is for “swingers” of a certain vintage….? The lairy color scheme, the lack of privacy….the emphasis on grog( loosens inhibitions)… And umm… the fetishisation of sexy footwear…. Amen.
Just a heads up, beaches in Puerto Morelos are non-existant they are so horrible. Unusable beaches in the area. If you want beaches, stay in the "Hotel Zone" in Cancun. Matter of fact all Karisma locations in Mexico and DR are rubbish for beach swimming and esthetic.
Hey Kevin - I liked the review but am gagging for you to leave that side of the planet and head back over to the East - I’m really not a fan of it all especially Mexico sorry but that’s just me 🙏🏼
Wow!🩴🩴🩴The sense of humor is unbeleivableI would love to have that😘.As you've developed a penalty system to distinguish your experience from others maybe you should add a reward system for an elevated experience only you could have personally, Just saying😉. I think the resort has only one major flaw that is the noise bleed, the rest are all "growing pains " as Kevin likes to say which could be rectified with a very low investment. Personally I love the fact that the resort has a lot of character. If FlipFlop was a corporate company, the first conference would be held here. 😝😝😝
I asked Chat GPT if it knew of any flip flop monuments in the world. It didn't know of any :( If only Margaritaville knew who they had in their midst 😅🩴

Haha 😂
I was snorting with laughter when I saw that flip flop
Thanks for watching 🩴
Love the “Homage” to the Brand!!!😂😂😂
Also nice to know the channel came before that statue, so hey... maybe it WAS an homage to the brand! haha.

😂🩴
The What's This segment was possibly the funniest ever on the Channel. LOL
e😅
Love your videos, keep making them, just a suggestion to spend 2-3 days at each place so you can more fully comment on a resorts food program, and also overall perspective!
Spending 2-3 days at each resort would mean posting videos 2-3x less often 😉
So 1980s. Love it. Got to go visit.

I share tips and trics and such on Patreon, but my lifestyle and my channel are two separate entities, even if one is consumed with the other lol
@@tfft Cool. Yeah I thought that might be the case, was just curious - keep it up :)

Luck! lol

83/100 , oh boy the review is gonna be fun!
😂
I'm sensing a sprinkling of sarcasm lol
As dryly amusing as the rest of your commentary can be, the giant flip-flop section with the narrator's voice captions was chef's kiss level.
Well, the narrator does try his best 😉
Well done.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Nice video!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
So the points are just meant for getting snacks/drinks for your room?
More or less.
Praise be to the giant holy flip flop! LOL!

Kevin playing some of his shots in reverse and hoping we woundn't notice! :P
Been doing that for many years lol.
Love the added comment in text! lol! A cruise on land?
A 1998 cruise on land, sure haha.
@@tfft 😅
Would be great to have some hotel reviews from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan etc as those place have largely been untouched by youtube travel bloggers

The Hyatt Regency Tashkent is calling your name!
we booked this resort yesterday for one reason … TACO BOATS!!
Oh well now those two words were not the ones I was expecting lol.
Very funny video today xxx

As avid a fan as I am of your channel, every now and then I wonder why, why, why would he even go there?! This would be one of times!

What currency did you pay?
With no beach, can you swim in the sea?
Sure, in theory lol
Prostrate yourself before the flipflop. You are on Holy ground.
Certainly was!
Jeez, what a description of the audience. You missed, "Open your yearbook and find the people you hated the most."
Haha- well to ensure I don't piss off every guest at the resort who may watch this video, I'll leave that one for you.
@@tfft Play back what you said! You went there and I'm for it. 😁
