With something like, say, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisofts creative bankruptcy and slimy business practices have given us every reason not to trust them. Sucker Punch has earned good faith engagement, and as this video itself points out, a Shurayuki-hime style protagonist is such a perfect fit for a genre love-letter like the Ghost series. If the game comes out and THEN writing is bad, that’s one thing. But we can’t let ourselves _devolve_ to the point where a female protagonist is grounds _by itself_ for alienation or anger. It’s just not a healthy, reasonable or functional way of interacting with the world.

As soon as I saw the black-and-white footage of what looked like Japan, I immediately thought of Kurosawa mode from Ghost of Tsushima. But then I saw the logo for sucker punch studios, then I freaked the hell out!
This one is definitely even more Kurosawa inspired, all those spaghetti westerns were very inspired by his films and now this game has a slight western sort of feel to it. Gonna be awesome

With the amount of games they are able to play I'm not surprised they forget details. I can play like 3 new releases a year with the time I have. The times of playing videogames all day are long behind me. It has refined my tastes though. Nothing worse than getting a game and realizing halfway through its utter dirt.

Folks saying Assassin's Creed shaking in its boots now, as if they're not likely a year apart in release dates. Plus, this looks to be more of the same, both in world design and general gameplay flow, which we've already seen is vastly different from what Shadows is now. They can exist together, and will likely be massively successful in their own right. I look forward to both.

Female Japanese warriors have begun fighting alongside the samurai. The Onna-Musha/Onna-Bugeisha are a separate class from the samurai, but are at the same level. Sucker Punch is doing their homework. They're Tsushima's ambassadors for a very good reason.

They fought in battles with samurais and were often guards to a female of a high status. In case you forget we have an entire storyline in the first game with Lady Masako.
For me first game was boring as hell. Polished ubisoft game. Repetitive open world crap and gameplay. Generic story and characters. I could stand 25 hours. For new game vibes looks really good. I am glad new characters, location and time period so that I don’t have to finish first game. I hope they will fix the issues of first game. I really want to like this franchise.
THey said this time they'v spend more time on balancing the story side and the gameplay side of it. I think they took the path of less is more this time with less repetitiviness (they said it on the playstation blog).

@@SIN1941 Ainu and Onna-Musha have existed and are prevalent in the last portion of the Sengoku Era as it transitions to the Edo Period. Female Japanese warriors have begun fighting alongside the samurai. The Onna-Musha/Onna-Bugeisha are a separate class from the samurai, but are at the same level.
Sucker Punch is doing their homework. They're Tsushima's ambassadors for a very good reason.

@@鎖骨好き yes Look up onna-musha, they were the "female samurai" of that time period, they were not named samurai but were held to the same standards as them. They fought in battles with samurais and were often guards to a female of a high status. In case you forget we have an entire storyline in the first game with Lady Masako.

For me first game was boring as hell. Polished ubisoft game. Repetitive open world crap and gameplay. Generic story and characters. I could stand 25 hours.
For new game vibes looks really good. I am glad new characters, location and time period so that I don’t have to finish first game. I hope they will fix the issues of first game. I really want to like this franchise.

THey said this time they'v spend more time on balancing the story side and the gameplay side of it. I think they took the path of less is more this time with less repetitiviness (they said it on the playstation blog).
@@RayzaNC I hated Assassin's Creed 1 and Assassin's Creed 2 is one of my favorite game. There are many franchises I dislike the first game and like the sequel. So there is a chance. Foundation is solid. They just need to put better and more unique content.
