Never forget that beyond the charm, humor, cleverness, and even the heroism, at his core Qibli is dragon with limitless ambitions and a crying desperation for affection. These two traits are truly what make Qibli everything that he is, and arguably make him the most complex and complicated character in Wings Of Fire. That is what truly makes him my favorite character.

Because he... he... I... Because he is the equivalent to perfect in all reality. He wants nothing more than peace. He is all that is good. And deserves the best, even if, in his mind, that isn't the case.

JMA has made me realize how much more of a perfect protagonist Qibli is.
Even if Qibli isn't my favourite (I have a bias for Legends: Darkstalker), Qibli is by far one of the best arc 2 & 3 characters. Thinking back, Qibli is doing what Moon couldn't. Moon wanted to be there for others and her powers would help her, but she didn't have the heart nor idea of how. Qibli did, he knew how to grasp the attention of dragons and lift their spirits, even when it cost him, especially when he confessed to Moon in the book 10 epilogue. He knew what dragons were like despite growing up in a vile society while Moon only lingered in the forests alone. But she's learned, from the Jade Winglet. Qibli is still the best at lifting everyone else's spirits but now, Moon can lift his. He can know he has people who can back him up this time.

Not only is he the best boy for these reasons, but his snark and sass is immaculate. The hilarious chemistry he has with Winter were consistently my favorite moments from Arc 2.

Qibli is such a good example of how abuse can fundamentally shape how someone thinks for better or worse. The double edge each trait is.
Hyper vigilance becomes genuine compassion. A lack of self worth becomes finding the worth in everyone around you. Years of staring down the "giving up place" becomes helping Others escape it.

You are my fav channel because of this reason. I can tell that you love Qibli just as much as me, if not more. And I never thought that was possible.
As a Sky-obsessed person, I will admit that Qibli is probably one of the best-developed characters through Arc 2. While I still love Sky and want to see his potential in a possible Arc 4, I hate how 1-Dimensional he is. Qibli on the other hand is such a bro for not just Winter but for those around him. I admit, Qibli stole my heart from Book 1 for two reasons: His tactical mindset and his moment of comforting Moon. Sandy Boi made me smile even more when he reassured Winter back in book 2. Qibli has gotta be the best and ONLY Sandwing throughout WoF. All in all, this was a great video description 🥰🥰🥰.

Ever since he was introduced, I knew I loved Qibli and that he's one of my absolute favorite characters, and that love went even further throughout the second arc, until he became my absolute favorites character from WoF. What I really love is that he's able to make bad jokes, be sarcastic and have badass moments, while being kind, sweet and inspirational.
Qibli isn't only a character to admire and look up to, but he's also an inspiration for real life or for fiction in general (as a great character source).

As a dragon, blue is really nice, and has some good character development through arc 3. As a protagonist though? Pretty meh in my opinion.

6:40 sunny does the same thing. all she ever thinks about is how she can be useful and keep everyone safe, She feel sympathy for even those who don’t deserve it. In book one, sunny impulsively, and protectively, attacked Morrow sear knowing he might hurt her but she did it anyway. it may not have been the smart thing to do but it was brave, No one even thanked her for it, and she continue to be that ray of sunshine for everyone around her. every time she was about to die and she was always happy and brave even when she knew no one was coming to save her she fought back and only thought about one thing, “is my family ok”. In book 2 She was still that ray of sunshine, even when she was locked in a dungeon.

I love Qibli sm. What really made me realize that he was a good character is when I heard about his past. It made me cry reading about it and I felt sympathetic for him. I honestly think he has one of the saddest backstories in WoF. And even though her could have turned out to be a horrible narcissistic monster who would do anything and kill anyone to get what he wants, he knew to do the right thing. this could have been the result of joining the outclaws, but I really think that Qibli was always a good boi from the very moment he hatched ♥️

This video reminded me that those who overcome pain are likely to truly gain, receiving more than those who aren’t once subjected to pain. No joke, this made gave me chills and caused me to tear up. Qibli is my favorite character and literally who I’d be in Phhyria. As soon as I read the first thing about him I knew he was amazing. His past, wants, and who he strives to be perfect aligns with me. Even though he’s a character in a book, he’s given me so much hope and assistance in life. He’s the kind of person (even though he’s a dragon) who I try to be. He’s the kind of person who I look for as a friend. Thank you for making this video and making my day ❤

I gone threw problems a lot of problems actually! and had no hope so I would just read a wings of fire book to get my nerves away...but when I was re-reading winter turning I related to winter...I seemed to take my anger out on others not caring how they feel about it...but when I always heard qiblis little prep talk I just use it to help me too and I'm so happy that I get to use his own words to help me threw my daily life and I try to use the perspective of qibli to maybe help others too...

I like seeing your perspective here. (If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m binge watching all your videos released before I got into this channel.) Qibli was my favorite character from when moon meets him in book 6, but mostly because of his Sherlock Holmes style of noticing literally everything and following logical paths. Random fact: remember in book 10 when he has that whole monologue explaining how Onyx could be the granddaughter of queen oasis? I once took half an hour out of my day to memorize it :)

This was amazing and I love it so much. I don’t have a favourite dragon, because they’re all so great, but Qibli is definitely in my S+ teir, and when I read the books, I often relate to the characters and want to be there in that reality. Moonwatcher is another favourite dragon of mine, I don’t really know why, but I think it’s because I relate to her the most out of everyone. This video almost made me cry with joy, I know that mentally there were tears streaming down my face during the part about how Qibli is a shining beacon of light. Everything about this video is so true and I don't think anyone could have said all this better than JMA could. I have loved Qibli for ages, but I never considered him my favourite until when I first watched this video and he pointed out all the small, meaningful things he did for the dragons around him. Qibli and JMA are an inspiration to all of us.

They should add snare drums solely because a ‘snare’ is typically a trap used to entangle something, usually a prey animal, when said something makes contact with a trigger. Oh yeah, if you translate, from English to Chinese Simplified, ‘Bungos’ in English directly translates into ‘Snare drum’. You almost sound like you choked there at the end! Such a phenomenal script, and absolutely! Its amazing seeing the entirety of his character laid out in one solid piece. Qibli is just such a cool guy. He really does watch everyone's back...
Also, the part with Rattlesnake and Sirocco reminded me so much about Wings of Charcoal's idea on re-writing Qibli's book for more payoff with his family, that I've actually resolved to write some of the pieces of that (I incorporated his idea into a totally different fan fic writing project I'd set aside a long time ago.)
Moon is still my favorite character though. If not for her, and her prologue, I never would have seen awesomeness that is Qibli. (Though for me, that moment with Qibli where I knew I'd like him forever was when he worked with Moon in book 6. Dude put aside his lack of comfort with her for the greater good. Absolute chad.)

Look. I don’t know if anyone cares. I don’t know if anyone will ever see this. But this video has had an effect on me that I’ve never seen or felt before. In just nine minutes, we see Qibli’s life. We see his life and honestly the honest, heartfelt was you describe him and his actions is beautiful. I’ve lost someone recently. I know of the pain and loss he had to struggle through, cause he never had a father. His mother doesn’t care, neither do his siblings. He’s lost more than anyone, but he decides to carry on. This is what’s kept me going. Kept me moving forward. Because if he can, I can too.
It means more for me to hear this than you know. Or, actually, it sounds like you do know hahaha. So go - keep moving forward and keep being amazing. I know you can do it.
Everyday we need to be reminded that Qibli is the best
I’m only on book six and he’s already the best character. I’ve noticed he’s very observant and I like that. He is always seeing wether his friends are mad or happy and that’s why I think qibli is such an awesome character. Despite his background he still makes an effort to make others feel safe or at ease. He is always thinking of ways to help both sides of a fight or ways to end one,which is something I admire from him.
Before this video starts, I want to say I love Qibli, he isn't my favorite that spot goes to the absolute ball of sunshine that is Sunny, but I'm very excited to see all the reasons why you think he is the bestest boi. Edit: Holy crap I didn't realize how horrible Qibli's backstory was with his abusive family and dangerous environment to grow up in. He is definitely one of, if not the most mentally tough character. Not only does he not let it effect him that harshly, but also despite all of the bad, he constantly tries to make the world around him a better place. What a legend.
I'm so happy that Jma made this cause it might just be because I haven't read the books in a while but I don't remember him being a character I remember small things about like I remember him wanting power I know the major stuff but the stuff like his mom giving him his scar and a lot of his character development I didn't pick up on while reading arc 2 so seeing JMA go into detail about him helped me see his character in full light

For the longest time I couldn’t place why Qibli is my favorite character in WOF, but thanks to this video now I know why. Me and him are almost exactly the same. His pros, his cons, his view on the world, and even his upbringing. I even find myself thinking some times (even before I read WOF),”man I wish I had magic, I could make life easier for me and everyone, I could even make everyone like me, I mean it’s not like It would be harmful to them.” That’s just an example but man I feel called out right now but in a kinda good way. I think this honestly really shows WOF’s biggest strength, the fact that in all of the WOF books you read, you will find at least one POV that you relate to heavily. So yeah thank you for making this video even if you didn’t intend this, because it’s helped me realize not just Qibli’s flaws, but my flaws too. I know that was a very strange rant but whoever got through it thank you for reading it (:

When i was about 5, me, my mother, brother and two sisters left an abusive situation with an alcoholic father. Boy howdy, was i staring at the giving up place for so long. And then we left. I felt so free. Now im 13 and i am so ridiculously glad that i am no longer in the giving up place. And I read Qiblis quote, it set my heart abalze.

This video brings up a very good point and it is actually the reason that I disagree with the whole "Qibli would've been the next Darkstalker" idea. It's the fact that Qibli's main motivation for his actions is to make people like him. This is in stark contrast to Darkstalker, who hardly cared what others thought of him (besides Clearsight) and whose main reason for doing things is his own personal gain. If Qibli was born an Animus, then yes, that would be a different story as we see in the beginning of arc 2 that he finds no issue in the idea of changing the thoughts of other dragons through magic. Once book 10 rolls around and he is actually offered Animus magic, he has realized the error of his ways and I truly do think that he would do good things as an Animus. And yes, I know the phrase "absolute power corrupts absolutely" but idc how corrupted he gets, he will always listen to Thorn and Moon so as long as Qibli doesn't get into the business of changing other dragons' thoughts, they will keep him on the right path.

My daughter is a huge wof fan, she is 9 & we have had a rough go at life since covid when we lost our home. We have moved all over the place & last year in 3rd grade she made a friend who got her into the books. She could barely read, within 3 mths she was almost 2 grades above her reading level & won a bike from her school. She read the whole series then started reading the series to both her dad & me separately. I'm on Qibli's book & I've fallen in love with him. We listen to JMA's videos everytime we drive to the pet store a cpl times a week, its about 45 mins round trip of JMA, lol. And then whenever she can sneak them in with me at home. Then I end up playing them to her dad/ my husband later, because I love your/JMA's POV, knowledge, rap battles, voice, & all over you are very talented & I love that my daughter listen to you. Because it's similar to what my husband & I have been telling her, her whole life, but hearing it from someone who isn't her parents, well that's priceless. Thank you. I drew a picture of her holding stitch with Qibli behind her, that I started before I knew who he was or jma or anything. I want to post it but not sure if that's possible.

Omg I loved this thank you so much making this! I totally agree with you. Qibli is BY FAR the best character in WoF. I’ve literally always had a crush on him because of all of those things about his awesome, wonderful personality.
I have (platonically) loved Qibli the moment Moon read his mind. The way he thinks, clouding up an entire paragraph, I just found it relatable, which was only strengthened in book 10, where the way he remembered traumatic events was again, relatable. Then I saw this video. Then I was enlightened. I fully realized how awesome Qibli is. You helped me see the bigger picture, and for that, you deserve a like, this comment, as well as a subscription.
Note: In the previous sentence I’m not saying that you deserve all those things because it’s me, but as a thank you that frankly, I think everyone should reward you with.

When I re-read the second Wings of Fire arc (I never finished it at the time, and it'd been so long since I last read it that I nearly forgot everything that happens), I thought Qibli's character was just okay. Likable enough, but I didn't see why the fandom fawned over him so much.
That all changed when I finally read Darkness of Dragons, because that book is the sole reason why Qibli is one of my favorite Wings of Fire characters. I loved his point of view, seeing where he comes from and where he gets his morals, and when he refused his chance to obtain unlimited power from Darkstalker, something that Qibli craved for so long, I had tears in my eyes. I felt so proud of him in that moment.
So I'm part of the fandom that loves Qibli now, I guess I needed time to see why he's a fan favorite. Now is he my all-time favorite character in Wings of Fire? That I'm not sure of yet, because there are a lot of characters that I love.
My favorite dragon is winter I feel like he is a lot like me but not fully qibli is my second favorite because he just is the Sherlock homes in book six and he just makes books six through ten very exciting

Watching this video not only gave me reasons for why Qibli is my favorite character other than "because he's Qibli" but it also made me realize I don't know how to pronounce Sirocco or Pyrrhia.

Although I’m mad over Qibli got a longer story than winter, moon, peril, and turtle, despite the fact that my favorite character is Chameleon, I have to admit that Qibli is the character Is one of the best characters in the story because even though he didn’t get any more backstory than the other dragons, I still feel like I know more about him than any other character and understand his motives more, Qibli feels more familiar than the other characters (yes, even Chameleon).
My favorite sandwing is Qibli, Fav mudwing is umber, Fav nightwing is moon, fav seawing is auklet, fav skywing is peril, fav icewing is winter, fav rainwing is glory. I also like sundew, luna, and cricket.
