They might have been better off not using the chopper, these days though, not many big farmers have straw choppers behind a tractor these days, all on the combine.
80% now! Regardless of the dilemmas we find in our daily lives seeing the combine brings a huge smile to our faces. Once again thankyou Olly and team for entertaining us with your hard graft; sharing your days on the farm = harvest time!!
Something funny happened to we cut some barley it got a reprieve from the chopper for the cows 90% today happy with progress be dry again tomorrow so hopefully get it done
As bad as digging tracks out on a dozer when you've been on wet clay for a month. Really feel for you. 80% got a hospital appointment tomorrow hoping for a positive result
Watching the telehandler reminded me of the one driven by one of my workmates' husband back in the early 1990s; the signwriting was modified (not by me) from "Loadall" to "Loadale".
Just looked at your forcast, doesn't look good all week. But boy, well impressed with the combine in the wet,and how far combines have come. Blockages still a nuisance though😢 🤠🇦🇺.
That look like a lot of fun getting the combine unblocked 😅😅 or like a friend of mine would say "farming = hardship poverty and abuse " 😅😅 feeling about 85%today. Hope tomorrow is a better day 🙏
Great job considering the conditions Olly. I'm 90% tonight, Dad's had another good day and just on dusk I spotted the biggest female Hedgehog in our back garden that I've seen in ages, I'm hoping it's the same female that visited us last year and produced three totally cute hoglets. 🤞👍
1992 August was wet,98 ,a battle to finish and 2000,2008 /09 wet to start, got drier, although some combines got stretched being pulled out,2012 seemed to be a battle all the way through.1985 in Scotland some farms didnt have a harvest too wet to travel
Hi just watched a utuber' trever struthers' washington state combining on steep steep slope😳😳👏👏 you may be aware of this but wow ive never seen anthing like it ....cheers all dave
That combine is tough. What rotten conditions to try harvest in. Amazing machine. About 90 today, even though the little fellas operation was postponed last week. Still got that to come I guess. Great video as always my favourite part of the day always cheers me up the way you all work as such an amazing team. Cheers for bringing my % up olly
I always find in wet years it’s good practice to pull the plastic preparation trays out in osr daily and give them a clean. They get super clogged up with crap.
Beware of flying melons just goes to show what would happen if a melon hit you in the head at 35 foot of a drop the weather is awful we’ve just had 70mm of rain in the last the last three days they opened the flood Barrier on Sunday I have a friend who now has a hundred acres of barley under water. Been an awful weekend the best thing was JANETS party and yes I did enjoy it feeling 93%today another great video Ollie keep them coming
Quality blog Olly, you wouldn’t want too many blockages like that in a day!! It must be soul destroying having the bad weather like you are. I’m a very strong 90%. 🚜👍oh by the way, didn’t the Fastrac look great with two trailers behind it? Wow 😍🚜👍
The joys of trying to get harvest in with the typical British weather, 🤨Best of luck with the rest and hope you have a better forecast for the remainder. Still loving the content you are making for us really appreciate your hard work 👍🏻
Great video. I'm amazed how modern combines can work in extreme conditions. Late watching but today (Tuesday) I'm feeling 90% but heading to the dentist so I may drop 😂
Speaking of wet a wet summer my dad told me a story about the New Holland combine we had got stuck. We now have contract ors come with a combine to cut for us so we haven’t had to deal with many combine shenanigans. Today I am 85% went to have a peak at some wheat.
From memory Olly there was a harvest in mid nineties that was very wet.I remember hearing about a local farmer that broke his combine for cutting wheat too wet..
Another interesting video, hope you dont get too many more blockages. Fingers crossed Charlottes web site hassles are fixed reasonably easily. 80 % atm, struggling to sleep so very tired !. Keep up the good work Olly
At least it washes the tracks for you 😂. Fingers crossed it comes good soon and goes dry fast. Maybe stick a header on a boat next time . Still waiting for claas part price you asked us all for. 65% today still plodding on 👍
Re getting the trailer hooked up... Had a fella, Jimmy, who used to help us out. Himself, me and my father watching my uncle making a job of getting the pin in . Eventually, Jimmy pipes up: fk sake, if there was hair on that, you'd have been in it twice !!
"Its far from ideal conditions", bit of an understatement there Olly. Check all the elevators in the morning, they're bound to be getting choked. Does Claas warranty cover belts? reckon you're going to use a few if it doesn't dry up.
Seen worse than that, how about round bales of hay floating down a flooded dyke, this was back in the 80’s, l honestly think people have short memory, back in the 60’s, I remember walking home from school one evening in winter time, l could see the moons reflection in the flooded land in the distance, this happened more than once, harvest about ready, all flooded, by the time it was fit for the ground to carry the combine, the wheat was already growing in the ear!
If you were honest with yourself, you know it is really to wet to be combining, but it has to be harvested so you have to struggle on. Lets hope the sun comes out soon and drys things up. I think you will be glad of the tracks on the combine this year.
One thing I can think of that would have been worse than the weeds & straw blocking the combine and that's if Bambi had chosen to stay put. It happens. 70% today, thanks to the stress resulting from sorting out a royal cock-up by Openreach which has only just been (partly) cured.
Was 70% yesterday (watching this day after) shunting and unloading an artic load of hay and with the yard full of round bales of haylage had to concentrate which when you have Parkinson’s like me makes you tremble and tired, I don’t envy you trying to combine that soggy OSR not surprised it blocked unbunging the old MF combine I used to drive when it wrapped up in Cleavers (sticky bobs) was bad enough but least they were dry mind how you go
You and joe seels keep fighting 💪 the good fight with trying to get the harvest done . . . . . Feeling 85% done 2 15 hour days in the last 4 days work . . . . Truck 🚚 driver 😴😴😴😴😴
Nice video my friend ❤💚❤💚❤💚❤ A very creative idea ❤💚❤💚❤💚❤ I look forward to seeing your designs. Congratulations on your journey forward ♥💚♥💚♥ 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Just shows how combine technology and build quality as improved over the years 30 years ago no combine would work in such wet conditions
They might have been better off not using the chopper, these days though, not many big farmers have straw choppers behind a tractor these days, all on the combine.
Why. Would anyone even try and combine in those conditions
Oh that look a job and a half. Thinking of Charlotte, hope it is soon fixed 95%. Thanks Olly and take care.
95% today , having a week off from tomorrow !! hope the weather clears up for you 🤞
Hi Olly...a good 90%. Nice day with the kids...-10% just waiting to hear on a mortgage for a new house
Watched this morning (Tuesday) I was 90% yesterday. Hope Charlotte got everything sorted
80% now! Regardless of the dilemmas we find in our daily lives seeing the combine brings a huge smile to our faces.
Once again thankyou Olly and team for entertaining us with your hard graft; sharing your days on the farm = harvest time!!
Great video Olly I knew we had a lot off rain but not as much as in your fields we had over a inch here only because it filled the pond 👏👏👍👍
I remember cutting OSR with Class Matador in 1999.
and blockiing it.
George.
Great video olly it’s a tough harvest so far hopefully the weather picks up
I remember when Adam was driving the drill now he’s taking over chip game
Something funny happened to we cut some barley it got a reprieve from the chopper for the cows 90% today happy with progress be dry again tomorrow so hopefully get it done

Hi Olly
Well done for battling on.
good to see Adam again, he was always a hard worker, i bet he misses driving your combine...
Combine top arrived today, thank you to Ian and the team for organising them. I just waited patentialy for mine to arrive
Watching the telehandler reminded me of the one driven by one of my workmates' husband back in the early 1990s; the signwriting was modified (not by me) from "Loadall" to "Loadale".
The air horn sounds great on the combine

Combine is coping well in such testing conditions, I hope you get some good weather soon . I am 95% today .
Oh no, you run mr dear and I’ll track it says mr claas 😂😂

A roumour went round that I stretched one 🤣🤣🤣
Tracks have helped a lot ,but when they do go in the suction on that surface area, you have to get a hymac to dig them out
Was thinkin you a air boat can skim across the top with a comb pn the front
Great video Olly how the combine can work in those conditions is amazing 😊😊50%
Great video tonight feeling 90% as i we are on holiday in Falmouth
Hi just watched a utuber' trever struthers' washington state combining on steep steep slope😳😳👏👏 you may be aware of this but wow ive never seen anthing like it ....cheers all dave
I am 75% the weather here in Cornwall was not bad this afternoon.
That combine is tough. What rotten conditions to try harvest in. Amazing machine. About 90 today, even though the little fellas operation was postponed last week. Still got that to come I guess. I always find in wet years it’s good practice to pull the plastic preparation trays out in osr daily and give them a clean. They get super clogged up with crap.

@@glennlingard7851 Yes but this is global warming that's the difference !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like these videos. I'd be interested to know your machinery line up and how many acres you farm and how many to contract
If you were honest with yourself, you know it is really to wet to be combining, but it has to be harvested so you have to struggle on. Lets hope the sun comes out soon and drys things up. I think you will be glad of the tracks on the combine this year.
I know it’s to wet but still a lot to go with no let up in weather

65% spent all day putting a mower back together after a welding repair! Nightmare!!!!!
Hope the co.bines got a snorkel lol!!
I'm surprised Adam hasn't modified a telehandler bucket to fit his diggers
hey olly after you completed the combine run i take it the telematics account is obsolete for anything now?
