Thanks for the amazing day, riding with you on the combine and your father showing my parents round 👍. Hopefully the harvest will improve🤞. 110% today thanks to you 👍.
You have had a tough week that’s for sure. Keep your chin up and focus on the things that are in your control. Hopefully you can get harvest going properly and you see those acres in the barn. It was great to see you putting up the netting to keep everyone safe. You continue to do great work, the birthday bumper is one example and the total is magnificent, literally lives saved. Hope your turn of fortune changes and your % starts to increase. I’m 70% today.
Last year u put my name on your bumper it made my day . I was battling cancer at the time . I've come through it all and back to good helth . I like what u do about mental health keep it up 👌
Hi Olly, I understand the pressures you are in, Harvest time is bad enough for pressure in your position. I have been a service manager most of my working life, in the Agricultural industry, but I am retired now. When it is a difficult harvest the pressures are so much more greater and that is when thing go wrong even more. Please keep your chin up, you do so much go for the industry and making people understand the mental illness theses pressures can cause. You are a mentor and role model to so many young farmer of today.
When the going gets tuff a great team get going. Just need to slow down a touch when they are tipping. 85%. Finished a boiler install yesterday with no dramas.
Keep going Olly, things could be a lot worse, a guy over here in Northamptonshire hit the power lines with the hopper of his new combine, set the combine and 2 fields alight 😥
Another tough day Olly! For both of us Had to strip my macine back to starting point AGAIN!!! 80% though as its finally ready. Great video showing the trials of agriculture
It was a dry, warm and sunny day on the Suffolk coast and there was masses of tractors carting grain everywhere we went. The forecast is rain tonight and not so great tomorrow, so I imagine there was a lot of combining going on until about eight o clock when the rain started
There is always another problem. Least the roof was spotted whilst you could still easily get to it ( may not have been had it not been raining!) that shed is very high amazing somebody could hit it with a trailer, not the first and won’t be the last.
Keep smiling Ollie you do seem to be having a good run of bad luck but your in a big way like you are things will always be, going wrong The weathers not helping harvest is a stressful time what with the weather and all the things that go wrong but the main thing is that you and your family keep well Ollie do you know what a good friend always told me is if you can cure a problem with money it’s not a problem and do you know I’ve thought about that a lot lately and do know it’s right feeling 93% today another fantastic video. Ollie
Great video Olly keep your chin up things will improve 😊I’m 80% today as I’ve been out on the pigeons for crop protection someone said they don’t do any damage then I showed them how much they had been eating they couldn’t believe it....😊😊😊
Thats a rough week so far. But it will get better. Could you hang a rattle bar from the roof so if the trailer hits it sounds a alarm to try save that happening again. About 80% today been a tough few weeks. Have a new lad in work and its busy trying to teach and work at the same time pushes everything behind and its catch up. Bit stressful, but he has to learn so what can you do. Just plow on and get it done. Great video as always.
80 % Sprayer broke down again adblue problem and the elevators at the dryer got blocked this evening so loads of shovelling. Its raining again. Keep smiling 😊
Olly, I was talking to a farmer here in north east Wicklow today - he's having a disaster of a time trying to harvest his OSR because of the rain. His Lexion 660 got totally bogged down at one point and it took 2 tractors to get it out. Hopefully things improve for you - you definitely seem to be having a lot of bad luck recently.
I know how you feel Olly. was the same when I was on Hesston balers a few years ago with the weather it was a nightmare at times. I am sure you will get through it , with the help from the team and a good team you have . I am 80% today .
In all the videos of yours i've watched i've never seen you so down Olly. Keep plugging away, the weather will get better. Fingers crossed. 75% today not had a great day, but got all my drops done. Rained when i got to my allotment.
Good to see safty first, to many have fallen through shert roofs and seriously injured. Think this rain has got on everyones nerves now and its time we had some sunshine. Im 50% and hopefully some sunshine will raise it a little. Thanks for the amazing daily videos that you do even when its a tough rubbish day you always keep us entertained. True hero 👌
Still picking away at winter barley between the weather. Far too much wet straw in the swath also. Just getting behind all round. Problems just keep appearing. Got 3 days barley harvest and I can’t see 3 good days in the forecast so it looks like we will go from barley to rape to wheat all in august. I’ve got to remind myself it’s still July though
Carol Kirkwood has said things should change the second week of August , It looks like your not getting a break this harvest. But remember the weather can change just like that.
Evening oile hopefully the weather will change soon . Am hundred percent this week started a new job driving a 8330 fast track it could pull a house down . A pull of with your class would be fun . It has 900 tyres on the back it's naughty 😁👌🌾🌾
Keep your chin up Olly lad, don’t let the bad weather and other stuff get you down and discouraged. Things will turn around, they always do, You and Charlotte get some well deserved rest now! That little rabbit is cute.
Each day follows the next, we have to just go when we can, its dam hard, days seem long. You'r young and will get through this. Take care and stay safe. 80%
Hi Olly, Here in Ireland, it's the wettest July on record. Shit summer for our countries this year... and the rest of Europe is going through heatwaves. Hoping things get better for you soon mate, fingers are crossed for good weather for you. I'm about 60%
Keep chipping away Olly, I was at a farm yesterday in County Durham and they haven’t had the combine out of the yard yet, so at least you have been able to start, hopefully next week will be dryer than July, and I think in am about 85%
65% today. Rain again, I can't see the hay ever getting done at this rate. And I can't find the handbook for the tractor, so I'll have to buy a replacement.
Down to 60% today due to work stress (not farming). Farmer here had the combine fuelled, header on and the moisture was tolerable just about to start the thresher and the heavens opened , that 6hrs ago and it’s still pouring.
Evening Olly, commiserations on a wet start to harvest. I remember a wet harvest we had back in the 80's when the only way to keep the Dominator 80 moving was to fit dual wheels around. Not sure if you've already seen it but there is some interesting combine action on Berner Landtechnik with harvest in the Alps. Have a look for the hillsider combines. I noticed Ian wearing an orange T-shirt when he did the birthday bumper recently - has he been a stag weekend and obtained a Just Stop Oil shirt? Here's hoping for some good harvest weather. Andrew
Get an early night Olly and charge the battery. Its a tough year for everyone, but we just have to take it and carry on. Our health must come first as you well know. It's just one of those years, we've had them before and survived and we will again please God 🙏.
Good to see you’re managing to make some progress despite the rain! 👍 Frustrating harvest all round. +1 for the NFU Cereals Development Programme. Highly recommended. The intake of 2014/15 will always be the best. 🥳 Good to see you’re keeping well Olly!
Crap harvest this year piled on top of last year's no-profit harvest and no consistent agricultural policy from the government. I can see some farmers going under or giving up this year. You're better off than some to be able to dry at pretty much no cost. Maybe the Black Sea blockade will help UK grain prices but it's a crying shame to have to rely on someone else's misery to make a decent profit. Keep it up. You do a great job of showing what can be done if you put your mind to it.
75% today a bit tired and stressed different reasons than you but similar frustration. In some ways an early finish will do you good get some sleep and press reset and try again tomorrow take care
Does your combine have stone & metal detectors like foragers do? Keep your head up anyway Olly. You show us daily how hard you work. It’s out your control, weather, prices, interest rates etc. Fingers crossed for some weather soon!
Hi olly its young john your cousin..watch you all the time i think what you do your a legend..please can you put julianne ball on the birthday bumper she is 38 today...
Hope it starts to get better olly people forget farming is ruled by the weather. . It will get better it allways does its not that late yet . Can't understand why you would want to tip that high in your shed only OSR. It would come out of your trailer without tiping it.
Hey fella, 70% is not too bad, things go wrong, you(and your team) have the skills to sort things that are not weather related, and skills to help those that are, take some credit for sorting things out, it should lift your %, for all of you.
This year is really bad. Over a month completly dry with temps over 25°C when the plants need water to grow and now come harvest and you don't get one dry day.
At 1.35 small field - would it yield better if you added sheep manure as I think that's the closest muck you can source?? OR is there some clean fill available? Just a thought If the weather improves and harvest gets going in full swing your mood will improve 85% today
Never seen you look so fed up. I reckon the rabbit is staying, looking very at home there, they don't like to like it on their own, maybe put it in with Ian!
Olly winning the most tormented competition and that takes some doing when Kurt Cobain makes a cameo. It’s been a week, I can testify. Hope Charlotte sorted her dog field schedule out. (I guess we can’t call the escaped bunny Steve McQueen after all then) Love to the whole team. Without the sour the sweet wouldn’t taste so sweet, hang in there guys
Go and have a bath and a early bed. I could have cried for you seeing that plate eaten by the combine yesterday. You sorted it though. Tomorrow is another day. 80% today
The joys of farming mate keep up the great work always look forward to watching your blogs
Thanks for the amazing day, riding with you on the combine and your father showing my parents round 👍. Hopefully the harvest will improve🤞.
110% today thanks to you 👍.
Glad u enjoy it
Did you put the world to rights?
It's terrible and wrong what's being done to your farmers!
Keep battling.

Your hardships are other people's inspiration. Keep on keepin' on.
