Hello everyone. In today's video I want to answer the questions if Mexico is safe for shooting street photography and I would recommend going. Over the last couple of years, I've spend several months in Mexico and gained a lot of experience in shooting street photography in various cities around the country. If you follow what the media is saying about Mexico it might deter you from going. Sure, in other parts of the world it is safer but how bad is it really?
See you soon in the next one!

When you compile your Mexico work into a book (please a book, not a zine), I will get a copy. Absolutely stunning - and very unique! - work.

Great photos of Tepito is what you have!! You were very brave (or dumb) to be shooting there, but was worth it. I love when people talk positively about Mexico, we need to reinforce that it’s not how the international news paint it… however there are very dangerous places, so make your research. Thanks for putting México in the right place.

Those Leica cameras look old and gives a vintage look. Probably people though the cameras were old and not much value.... specially in tepito. I guess if you have brought a big camera, like an old Canon 5D and a big lens, it will be different. By the way, I been in Guadalajara other cities carry an A73 with a small lensand with no issues, but I did find people will look me different if I bring my old canon with a big lens.

It does not matter!! A Canon 1D or Leica, if you stay aware it doesn't matter. In fact, in the risky areas is probably safer areas for shooting, if you know how to behave.
It is the basic rule, just don't be an idiot...

I miss Mexico so much. I remember going to El Zocalo when I was 7 years old and shoot with a relatively modern film minolta slr. I hope you can make a book, I'd definitely buy it!!

If you’re not sure about Mexico then stick to the tourist areas. Everyone, especially the cartels make money there from tourists so these areas are a special bubble where tourists are generally left alone.

And yes, they rarely choose what they're going to steal; most of the time, they don't even know what they're stealing or have any plan.

@@dylanhill1640 A good street photographer will do a good job no matter the location. Do a light search for street photography in Mexico, and you will see it in major festivals, magazines and galleries around the world. Shit will happen no matter where, people with bad intentions and few values are everywhere.
