Sheesh bro, what a journey. Thankful for your care team post-accident, yourself for being motivated to get back to competing, which leads us to the social media aspect of the journey you left out !! It’s a profession that you’ve made playing, and now commentating on, this great game ! Keep your faith first brodie 💪🏼
My wife’s parents were huge in that process of recovering. Love them forever for that. But yessir man. Gotta keep God first. At all times. Something I have to check myself on at times. Thanks for supporting through the years brother
Great stuff dude. I coach a boys varsity team in Oakland, gonna send them this so they understand that basketball doesn’t exist in a vacuum - there are so many other important moving parts that bleed into hoops and vis versa. Your energy and sense of humor bring so much life to the game man. It’s super joyful. ✌️
Really my inspiration mills, forever will respect and appreciate you for what you’ve given to not just me but the RUclips basketball community as a whole, and just basketball in general 🙏🏾
I've said this already but you have a great ability to story tell that other people seldom have. Also, I'm glad you're still here and we still have you after that accident. 🙏
I appreciate you sharing your story and keeping it real. There are guys that I used to play with and coach that would blame everyone else for their trials. It’s refreshing to hear. Please start hooping again. There are many of us who’d like to see you on the court
Your mindset is something not from here. I`ve never seen somebody with that passion and it gives me so much motivation to go on and be better. Thank YOU for doing that
Love the transparency. Thanks for giving us a peak into your journey. I didn't see you as the non scholarly type that was honestly surprising to hear. Some people are just wired for different things than just remembering random facts and sentences but our school system is old and rigid for w/e reason. The way your life aka the system and that accident moved you toward social media and youtube feels like a blessing for us that are following your journey. You are a solid dude Mills. We wanna see you win
brother, first of all i love your storytelling...you're great. second, my story is wildly similar, i was a D2 guy too that really screwed myself by not applying properly to academics. thankful i eventually found my way to playing 4 years, starting and becoming a captain...but it should've been much easier. now i coach and try to help these kids see what matters more...ball can't always be life 😂 thank you for sharing Milly!
Milly, you and ecs were the first ever youtube basketball videos i ever watched and your play style made you one of my favorite hoopers even now with everything going on like TNC. I still remember them 1v1 series and them park runs with tae moon cinco. Thank you for being an inspiration, wishing you a great 2025 to you and your beautiful family cant wait for whats next love from japan❤ milly rock lives on
Would not have guessed from watching your videos that you struggled so much in school. Hope everything works out well for you in your future endeavors.
That final message was extremely inspiring Austin. Great bible verse to accompany it as well. God was definitely looking after you in that crash. Seeing your car it’s incredible you walked away from that. Hope 2025 is your best year yet💪🏻
God had a plan for you man, after all that and you still came out stronger amazing! We always don't know his plan but we have to have faith that there is one and work towards it and be ready for the moment! Thank you for sharing your story. It definitely motivated me to keep grinding!
Appreciate your story. It's hard to be into school when you're utterly in love with the game of basketball 😂 through all of middle/high school and college, my mind was only on basketball and needless to say, I didn't even finish 😂. If i actually never got into basketball, I'd probably be a lawyer or some crap by now. Thanks a lot, MJ, for getting me hooked. No regrets.
Blessings to still be here to experience life, Austin 🙏 oftentimes our bodily failures ensure we are never the same as we once were as our God-given selves. Tough to get over, but eventually, you just swallow that pill and move forward.
Respect for continuing to bounce back and pivot when things didn’t go your way 👏 but damn you are the LAST person I expected to be missing class and not maintaining a good GPA! Lol
Love ur story bro,not alot of guys who had ball dreams even make it to any type of college so u did good,if u didnt have that accident u probably would of made it overseas but God had a plan for u,maybe if u would of went overseas u would of never gotten married or whatever,u are a very gifted player though.wish u nothing but health and prosperity
I appreciate yo story Amilly I enjoyed this almost feel like ik u now😂😂 i can also strongly relate our stories are kinda similar except i played football
nah you're different in the space. i see you being a stephen a smith (accomplishments and how big he is) just your own way. you ever need help editing or ideas lmk, i think you should continue to do these story telling videos and do it with yourself, TNC players etc would be cool just got to the end, great video brotha.
We’re your academic struggles based upon not applying yourself/ focusing entirely upon hoops or just that it was genuinely tough for you? Real question, not trying to insult you. It’s just that when I listen to you talk you don’t seem as though you’d have a 2.0. However I do understand that there are different types of intelligence and you cannot always measure it conventionally with curriculum based testing etc.
No that’s a good questions! But I simply wouldn’t go to school in high school. Those habits carried into college. So it was all on me. Going to class is half the battle
Bro you really were one of the smoothest hoopers on RUclips and now one of the best story tellers keep grinding my boy .
A moral of the story - never forget being a student-athlete means being a student first!
Yes... I can't attest to that enough
