Elections can significantly shift market dynamics and investor sentiment. It's essential for us as investors to stay informed and adapt our strategies accordingly. Historically, certain sectors thrive depending on election outcomes-think green energy vs. fossil fuels. Keeping a close eye on the candidates' policies could provide valuable insights for making smart investment choices.

And still America has the world’s strongest and most dynamic economy, strongest military by far, best diplomatic and military alliances which are broadening and strengthening thanks to Russian, Chinese and North Korean aggression, the best inherent geographic advantages and natural resources, a university and science system the envy of the world (whose research is cited 3x as much as China’s) and most influential culture and soft power.
Don’t compare America to perfection, compare it to the alternative. People were hot on China for about 15 years before they realized an arbitrary authoritarian government isn’t a great business climate in which to operate. Russia is returning to its imperial/Soviet roots with wars in Europe again and its military has been proven corrupt and inept in Ukraine, with a per capita GDP 1/5 that of the US reliant on basic natural resources. Europeans have a high standard of living but they’ve neglected their militaries until very recently, their economy is not dynamic and took twice as long to recover from ‘08 if it ever did. Japan and South Korea are bright spots in Asia but are demographically doomed.
For all its problems there is still no one even close to matching the US.

@@acslater017 LOL, America has the worst performing military among world powers, because it is led by ignorant racist warmongers. Nearly 60 years ago MLK said it best, "The single biggest purveyor of violence in the world today : my own government", and that has not changed ever since, because global polling shows that the majority of the world thinks that the United States is the biggest threat to global peace and stability. The developing world is increasingly turning toward China for economic, educational, and diplomatic partnerships, because the US is an unreliable and unpredictable bloodthirsty dying empire, whose economy is based on the waning strength of the dollar, petrochemicals, and acting as merchants of death. It is funny you mention that US research is cited 3x more than China, but when you look at many of the top researchers that have been in the US, they came from China, and now those researchers are fleeing back to China because they are being threatened by the growing hostile climate of racism towards Asians in the US. Japan and South Korea are doomed because they were forced to adopt America's exploitative and inefficient system of Neoliberal capitalism. Meanwhile, China is proving the superiority of Central Planning, over the chaos and inefficiency of the so-called American 'free-market' which in actuality is just crony capitalism. Brainwashed racist nationalists like you are why the US is in decline.

Wrote this a while back but applies to this subject:
At age 64 (2015) my Canadian friend who at that point had lived in China for 17 years convinced me to come see for myself how advanced China was in infrastructure, technology and morality compared to our country of Canada and any of the 5 eyes countries.
So I spent 6 months in SE Asia exploring with a Canadian friend who had lived there for 17 years.
The lies and propaganda just can't compete when you go see for yourself.
As a Westerner who believes all the propaganda do you ever wonder how come such an evil empire as China has not dropped bombs, not invaded, not sanctioned, does not Assassinate other countries officials and yet your country (so morally superior) why do you do all these things or at minimum support the US as they do all these things?
Do you ever ask yourself that? Do you ever wonder why America (land of the free) has more prisoners than any other country in the world?
Do you ever wonder how China pulled 850 million people out of poverty while America gave all it's wealth to the 1%.
Do you ever wonder why walking in downtown America at night is seriously risking your Life while walking in any major cities in China day or night is perfectly safe?
Do you ever wonder how China can give 1.4 billion people free education and reasonable regulated healthcare with the right to choose between traditional Chinese medicine or Western medicine, while in America most people can't afford health care?
Do you ever wonder why a single party country with 1.4 billion people have a government approval by survey of 90+% yet not a single 5 eyes countries or NATO countries can even achieve 50%.
Do you every wonder why elected politicians don't represent the people who elected them?
Do you ever wonder why a country that "we say" oppresses their population has 155 million citizens travel abroad and they all come home.
Lastly do you ever wonder how a country that has achieved so much has not had a single positive news article in the new York Times or the Wall Street journal or any of the major networks?
If you don't wonder about any of these things, then you probably think your not bombing Syria to steal their oil, your not sanctioning Venezuela to control their oil, your not sanctioning Huawei because they are more advanced.
You probably also believe Edward Snowden is a traitor rather than a hero, you probably think the war crimes Chelsea Manning revealed were justified and you probably think Americans are still the good guys.
Perhaps get a passport, go see the truth, redemption is still a possibility.
    - Vic Toews CC

    • @hitthedeck4115
      @hitthedeck4115 Месяц назад +1

It's also a strategy to move forward when you are put into a corner, like when both the PRC (China) and ROC (Taiwan) wanted US support back then. Being clear to side with the former would make the US lose Taiwan, a strategic partner to counter a potentially adversarial China in the future (looking from that point of time). Siding with the latter was dumb (it was just a small nation) and would make China invade the island, something that the US no longer had the stomach for since it would make the region at war where the US would need to participate to defend Taiwan.
Like Kissinger mentioned, this strategic ambiguity wouldn't last forever. Unfortunately he also didn't know what to do when the China-Taiwan status quo can longer be maintained.

Here's an English translation of the summary:
Analysis suggests that China would prefer Harris over Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
    Advantages of Harris:
    1. Higher policy predictability, easier for China to respond
    2. Continuity from the Biden administration, likely maintaining existing dialogue channels
    3. Possibility of cooperation in specific areas (e.g., climate change)
    Risks of Trump's re-election:
    1. Significant economic impact, such as potential 60% tariffs
    2. Statements on Taiwan increase geopolitical risks
    3. High policy unpredictability complicates China's long-term strategic planning
However, Trump's policy of weakening alliances could benefit China in the long term.
China's current priority is economic revitalization, requiring a stable external environment. Technological self-reliance and expanding international influence are also important goals.
Global experts' views vary, but many suggest China prefers Harris. However, there's a consensus that fundamental improvement in U.S.-China relations will be difficult regardless of who wins.
Chinese media and scholars generally favor Harris but recognize that the strategic competition between the U.S. and China is structural and cannot be changed by individual policies alone.
Economically, Trump's high tariff policy could severely impact China's export industries, while Harris's policies are expected to provide a relatively stable environment.
Geopolitically, Trump's statements on Taiwan are a major concern for China.
In conclusion, China is analyzed to welcome Harris for her predictability and stability. However, challenges are expected to remain regardless of which candidate wins.
