I sang this in a combined schools choir outing one Sunday as a child of 11. The choir mistress was Helenine Squires who won many eisteddfod accolades for Courtenay Selous School. How I wish I could play this to my parents. I subsquently found the sheet music in a second hand shop in Durban where I now live. Fantastic memory. I remember every word to this day.
+Astromagical Would that land be the same if there were no Africans? I know it was 1 white for 20 blacks. I want to know if Rhodesian culture would be monumentally changed if there were no Africans in what was then Rhodesia. If you could respond that would be great.
Only commercial farming could feed that many Africans at 20 to 1 and have an expanding economy at the same time? Rhodesian farmers produced enough food for Rhodesia. Mozambique, and the lands to the North. What African country do you know that was called a breadbasket with black farmers? only two Rhodesia and South Africa and they where white farmers. Zimbabwe is asking the white Rhodesian/Zimbabweans to come back and return to their farms, for 20 years Africans have run them into the ground whether intentional or not , Farming is an skill and ability that clearly many Africans don`t have and the Zimbabwe government is recognising this as are many other African countries and further abroad Russia, Georgia are recruiting Africa`s highly skilled farmers also. Rhodesian culture is simply called ''success'' all these countries are lining up to acquire their skills , there are no Africans in charge in Russia, Georgia, Australia and in Africa there is no record of Rhodesian failing in any of the other African countries. No Rhodesian culture would not be changed because they don`t know how to fail Yeetman14.
I remeber singing this at school as well - never thought i would find it on You Tube :) Such good memories - of a fantastic childhood - miss home so badly xx

Sharks forever!
If anyone is curious, the song title is "Rhodesia We'll Ever Cherish Thee".
It's true name is "We who follow"
It is great to see people who are proud of their country
RHODESIANS NEVER DIE - I still love my country. I await, in anticipation, the opportunity to return and help rebuild my homeland!

I remember singing this song at school! "Rhodesia our homeland, we live and cherish thee..."
Went to Oriel Girls School, 1961/64...sang this with my school choir to win the competition...this may have become the Rhodesian National anthem...
