- In this video I review and react to the new Kerry Kings single Residue from his upcoming album From Hell I Rise available May 17th. I was interested in hearing this song as Kerry has made some claims that this album does have some diversity but also sounds like what we shoulf expect from Slayer. I went back and listened to the track and it grew on me. I needed to adjust my expectations and it became more enjoyable. Cheers

Its just not for me. I haven't liked Slayer since Seasons. But I think folks who like newer Slayer will dig it. Its weird to hear Death Angel guy cosplay as Ton Araya though.

i grew up on slayer and love the classics but this album os completely redundant…. im sorry but the entire metal genre progresses…. kerry king is stuck in 1989. basic edgy satanic lyrics and the same riff and lead combos since 90s. …. not to take away from what slayer did for metal.

i loved divine intervention. god hates us all was the worst… had some good riffs but the lyrics were something a edgy kid would write on his book covers to scare jocks at school.

at the time they came out wasnt even close to nu metal… not how we define it today, i get why u saying that but just cuz the riffs had more groove cant compare to nu metal… u spitting some sacrilege there lol

I don't think it's terrible and I think there are some positive aspects to the tracks. Do I feel it's worthy of Slayer level praise? In my opinion no. However; Slayer isn't worthy of Slayer praise since Divine Intervention. Thanks for watching and the comment!
I'd say both tracks are a 1.33 out of 2.

This new material is flaccid and limp and simply sounds like if you asked Kerry while he was drunk to make up a Slayer song off the top of his head in under 5 minutes 🙄Sorry…. So overrated and overhyped it is embarrassing and sounds like all the riffs Jeff thought were too lame to actually use in their songs
It's definitely not Grade A Slayer material. It sounds like KK riffs which weren't always the memorable ones.
