      No it doesn't. Harvard is extremely generous with the aid they give out, and will be one of the cheapest colleges to attend for most people. It's only really expensive if you are upper or upper middle class, which in the first case you can afford it second case cooked. Either way, that's just the cost of Harvard, education is expensive

    Hello Rishab! I am a middle schooler thinking about the awards, stats, recognitions, etc. that I need to get into the colleges I aspire for. I want to go into the field of Computer Science and wonder what exact awards do you think I need to impress the college board especially for my major. Also, do you think colleges will care much as many of them are going test-optional about if someone gets a 1600 comparatively to someone who gets a 1550. I want to prioritize my goals because I don't know if some small clubs really benefit my application as much.
    Congrats on Harvard and best of luck for the future!

    • @angelobowman4322
      @angelobowman4322 Год назад +3

      a 1550 and 1600 are very similar and the time it would take to get a 1600 would be better spent in other categories to separate yourself from others

      It’s awesome that you're already thinking strategically about your future college applications. In terms of awards and recognition, the key is to focus on depth rather than just breadth. For a major like Computer Science, showing a genuine passion through achievements like coding competitions (e.g., Hackathons, AP Computer Science exams, or internships) or creating a personal project or startup can be impressive. Colleges love to see how you’ve taken initiative and demonstrated your skills in meaningful ways.
      As for the SAT scores, you're right that many colleges are test-optional now, but a high score, like a 1600, still stands out if you choose to submit it. However, keep in mind that many schools are increasingly focusing on a holistic approach, so how you demonstrate your academic rigor, extracurricular leadership, and problem-solving abilities in Computer Science will matter just as much-if not more-than a point or two on the test.
      Also, when it comes to clubs, don’t get caught up in trying to join everything. Instead, consider choosing a few where you can make a tangible impact, especially those that relate to your interest in Computer Science. Leadership roles or significant contributions can certainly boost your application!
      Let me know if you'd like some tips on how to prioritize these goals and maximize scholarship potential. I work with families to create customized high school strategies to help students like you graduate college debt-free! 😊

    This was a well put together video, one question I had was; isn't ChatGPT's information cutoff at 2021? So it wouldn't know of any new scholarships that are available at the time you are asking it, or are most scholarships like the same each year or something?

    • @RishabJainK
      @RishabJainK  Год назад +2

      Most of the well known/reputed scholarships have very similar dates every year. These are the ones to apply to.
      Lesser known ones are very fishy and I would not recommend applying. I didn’t end up winning any of those, but somehow won almost all of the large, well known, reputed scholarships I applied to. Kinda indicates that the smaller “new” ones are fishy.
