    We stayed at the Palace side in December and enjoyed it. The beach is very nice. You don't need water shoes, really, since there are no rocks. The food at the buffet, we thought, was pretty good. We didn't do the other restaurants because we liked the buffet and it was just very convenient. The water park was fun, but there isn't enough seating. Also, compared to other all inclusives where we've stayed, the entertainment was very poor. That being said, we're coming back to Mexico again this year and looks like we're coming back here again. The beach was just so nice and the service was excellent.

      The beach is beautiful there! It is definitely a selling point. I’m tempted to return and stay at the Palace next time. Where else have you stayed that you like?

      @@noshoesjusttravelGO We've stayed at the Royalton Riviera Maya twice,.the first time was 7 years ago and we loved it,but we went back in 2020 and found it had been poorly maintained. We also went to the Royalton in Punta Cana and it was just OK. The Grand Riviera Princess was good. The grounds there were beautiful. The beach there was OK, but it was great for snorkeling. We saw rays, tons of fish, a crab, a Caribbean lobster, and moray eels there. The eels are kinda scary. I'd definitely wear water shoes there. We really liked this Riu for the value and the location. We're both nearly 50, so we think the location kinda weeds out the raucous crowd.

      Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. So it depends on what you think is considered bad weather. For myself, I prefer the fall and winter months because it’s not as hot as June, July, and August. It will be hot while you are there, so remember to stay hydrated. Seek out shade because it’s easy to get burned if you are not careful-Especially while in the pools. I wear a rash guard when I spend a lot of time in the sun, and I don’t want to keep applying sunscreen. If you like to walked the beach, I’d suggest early morning.

    If you're still out there. I have been to MX once and that was early this year. I go solo on 99.5% of my trips! Am I going to be bored at Riu Palace CM? When I stayed at Riu Peninsula I went off the resort once I think to the mall other than that spent 4 days on the resort. Chilling out etc. Also, how do you feel about going here say Mid February? Wanna get that tan on :)

    • @noshoesjusttravelGO
      @noshoesjusttravelGO  Год назад +1

      You may be bored at the Palace, but you can always walk over to the Dunamar and meet some people at the 2 adult pools. There always seemed to be some lively people at the swim up bars. There are a lot of kids in that part of that resort though. The Palace felt more relaxed and there were mainly adults there. If you like to wind surf and do water sports, you will be able to stay busy with this activities. We love February in Mexico!

      @@pdrbclwe stayed in Dunamar as couple this month and we actually had to request a hotel change because the food (and service) isn’t really great! We’ve changed to Palace and it was much better , it’s a different concept ! So I would definitely say it is worth to add for a Palace. We didn’t go to the Palace next door because was overbooked though (we went to Riu Palace las americas on hotel zone), but all Riu Palaces got similar concept.

    Awesome review! Does anyone know what the (U) means after the room designation on RIU properties? This resort lists a Suite (U) and im curious what exactly that room and view would look like.

    • @noshoesjusttravelGO
      @noshoesjusttravelGO  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the compliment! I checked their website quickly and saw some suites had a U after it, but I’m not sure what that means. Did you book with a travel agent who may have specifically asked for that? My only guess would be possibly upper floor? It looks like the suites either have a balcony or a terrace. The terrace would be ground level. When you find out, can you please let me know?
