Fun fact! If you grind a damaged block first, it will immediately restore it to its former shape, then all you'll have to do is fill it with the material instead of having to wait for it to reform.
50:30 if you were to type in the command "/bi conveyorvis" or "/bi cn" while looking at your ship you can see all of the conveyor routs due to the Build Info mod. would make it really easy to figure out why the turret is not connecting to the conveyor system.
This is great, it's like space archaeology, trying to figure out how these ships were supposed to go together, keeping any fixes faithful to how it's supposed to look, I love it, these ships belong in a museum
I think unfortunately, I will have to edit them a bit more to mesh multiple ships together to look more smooth, but the ship archaeology idea is pretty much the idea of the ship yard.
@@PandemicPlayground Hey there! Just saying. If you find the Mercenary Encounter, definitely keep it! It is actually a pretty cool ship once repaired. A decent sized one as well. And there are 3 gats I believe, and a missile turret, so you shouldn't fly your ship in.
Maybe you should build a small grid ship to function as a grinding ship for salvage, is armed to function as a fighter, and some additional landing gear for moving parts in attachment position!
Just a few things. Throw a camera on your ship so you can zoom in on wreckage. And use whatever thruster components you get to make an ion miner/shuttle... P.s. rockets are overrated. Make a custom turret with 8 assault cannons😈
Yeahhhh.. That new ship is definitely for salvage. Not much left of it! X3 Neat bridge, design, though. Would try to merge-block salvage just that part, chop up the rest. :3 Definitely salvage a few ion thruster components as soon as you can. The platinum can be used to make tier three tools. That'll help speed the process up quite a bit!
Re: your early game quest to find and grind/repair various blocks, I use "Show on HUD" to find blocks I own on a grid. Can this be used on unowned blocks? Or do we not have permission to do that while they're unowned by us? I know you're doing this mod-less, but watching your thrusterless struggles around 12:30 made me really re-appreciate the Flight Vector mod by BD Carillo. It adds a HUD element that shows your ship's prograde, retrograde, and (if any) gravity vector. With this, you can immediately see where your reverse direction (retrograde) is, turn to face it while dampening is off (to prevent dampening from altering the vector as you rotate), then turn dampening on to use your functional forward thrusters to decelerate. With this, it has been MUUUCH more practical to build and operate real-life-ish or Expanse-style ships that only have one primary direction of thrust, and minimal thrust in the other 5 directions for station-keeping only. Or to manage damaged ships that are missing 1+ directions of thrust. XD AND it's available as a plug-in mod since it's all client-side. Anyone can run it even on servers that don't have this mod loaded.
So, congrats on getting a second ship to merge along with a scrap ship. For the turret you were messing with, look again at the new ships survival kit. Iirc, it is turned wrong way for things to be connected. Either way, if it were me, I would take it out since you have one already. It won't do you good if you get in a massive firefight anyway. Replace it with a 3 or 6-way conveyor.

Good tip

This BI function is an absolute lifesaver. +1!

@@randallvolk8437 yes a tug would be very helpful.
I have an idea for a small grid ship, but as a fighter it will likely be destroyed pretty easily unfortunately.
@@CharlesPruden having a tug, purely just to steal batteries with, is always a good investment

Unfortunately, you need access before we can show on HUD. Makes it more difficult, but love the struggle lol
Hello! I'm absolutely loving this series. I've been hearing a lot about space engineers, but I've never played it. I kind of want to now.
Love this series 🎉
Thanks
I was so sad when the first one ended

The survival kit on the imp is not connected, it has to be aligned with the conveyor junction
Oof. Whatta battle. Great stream. You should rename the ship Mary Shelly
good stuff
Do a time lapse of deconstruction 😩
Instead of a ship evolution. How about a buildup from fighter to a Corvette/Battleship.
I do hope to get it to a large scale ship
@@PandemicPlayground get it large enough to make a go at space pirate king. Lol
