I don't think it was performed as well as it could have been, but in it's way it displays what the Beatles music should always do - bring people together. No matter your background, race, style, or anything it's always best to remember that we're all human and sharing this world and we need to get along and make the best of it together. The musical styles may have clashed, but it was the thought that counts.
Favorite moment: 0:29-0:39. Sounds like he had a seizure. "... drifting through my open mind, caressing and pesilinnehwy..." -Stevie Wonder. What did he say? haha lololol
Why all the hate against this collaboration with talented artists from all genres? That performance is a very sentimentally well orchestrated cover. It brings a tear to my eye.
Very messy discordant version but you usually expect that with so many different singers with different styles. When I first heard the original from The Beatles honestly my buttocks were literally quivering like jelly but this version didn't have an effect anything like that. Some good singers in there though.
It's good to have all this superstars paying tribute to their Gods, The Beatles marked an era and none of this artists would have ever been the same without the Quartet.. The performance was not a brilliant piece of music, but the feeling was alright, I specially liked watching Billy Idol an Billy Joe by the side.. Brian Wilson standing with the class of a gentlemen, and Stevie.. oh Stevie, you are so tender with that harmonica... DEFINETLY A PERFORMANCE STRAIGHT TO THE HEART (nor the ears?)
Steven Tyler and Alicia Keys makes the difference!!! I wish to saw them making a duet one day... The harp-man rocks too, but I think that Steven is supposed the guy who would play the harmonica!;)
Yeah Steven was the best, Bono (second place) and the rest of the singers were horrible....but this should have been Velvet Revolver feat. Steven Tyler.
Omg! This is an exquisitely beautiful song, and they should have combined sensitively to do it justice. They all "did their thing" whilst happening to be singing the same song. Only the first woman to sing struck the right chord with the depth of meaning in her beautiful voice.

Am I the only one who is amazed that they got Brian Wilson to help with this? That was awesome! The whole thing was. This is what we need more of in rock. People from all genres coming together to help the world.
Actually, even Lennons version (including the let it be naked version) was pretty lame. It's a shame because this song is so brilliant but no one has done it really well.
Hahaha Ali é o vocalista do Stone Temple Pilots.
Hard to believe John had issues trying to get Paul to record this tune... John said so and that Paul didn't put effort into it. He wrote it at night after listening to his then wife go on and on and on about something he didn't care about. She just wouldn't shut up.
You know what they say, no one can ever replace The Beatles.
Lennon especially who wrote it and sang it
you replace them
this hot mess is absolute truth to that - what a hot mess
A lot of really good people but they don’t even come close to the original!!
Try Cobain’s version.
RIP Across the universe
yes 🤣
Hahahahaa
😂😂😂😂😂
all great singers together ruining one of the great songs ever composed.
Anil Sharma Yeah , How dare they bastardise such a classic song "something's gonna change my world" for fucks sake!
NOTHING GONNA CHANGE THIS WORLD
+Louis Nicholas. Never underestimate the power of nothing.
You couldnt have put it any better...
Except Billie he did a good job
This performance shows the never ending influence of The Beatles on all musicians. ❤️
It's amazing that with all the combined talents of all these famous artists, it still sounds awful compared to the original.
Wow. So many great artists in their own right yet not one of them did this great song any justice whatsoever.
lol yep this was astonishingly bad.
Dreadful from start to finish..i personally switched off soon as bonno opened his mouth
you aint kidding i love every one of these artist but on this song i couldnt take it any more i had to click off lol good greif !!!
Billie joe was did right.
Steven Tyler thank you for saving this performance 👍

Wow! Tells you how gifted John was. No one will be able to cover this correctly.
Steven Tyler fenômeno! !!!!!!
"Steven Tyler Wins ,flawless victory"
FATALITY.
Just listen to the fan ovation that Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) receives... That will tell you who stood out in the performance!!
Circus Audience
Once the Beatles always the Beatles......
One of my fav songs and a great performance... I love this! 🫶🏻
I love all of their music but some how this sounds horrible!
+holaparatodos "Ditto!" that's what he'd probably say. You mean to tell me this sounds good?!
The live acoustics have to be a factor. Songs like these (We are the world, artists for haiti, etc) always sound thrown together and awful.
STEVEN TYLER THE BEST *-*
By far
AGREED
That harmonica solo ❤ Stevie wonder rules
So much to comment on here. But Slash making sure he's getting the harmony right at 4:04 while Allison Kraus watches silently is my favorite.
steven tyler saved this group
Not true
God himself couldn't save this disaster
How exactly?
First Steve Wonder, after Steve Tyler and after the rest ...
Yup I agree, thanks Steven.
Steven tyler has the best voice among all of them
The best singer of all of them was playing violin.
omg yes!!!! i know that its been 3 years since you posted this comment but yeah alison krauss is da real mvp
No, it is Steven Tyler, and he's singing.
@@ernstsaturno I love Steven Tyler, and he sings great, but he cannot compare to the perfection that is Alison Krauss.
Awesome performance! Awesome to see Billie Joe, as well as everyone!
A nice tribute to Johnny. It's a song that seems to cut through dimensions. A song I always loved.
Why all the hate against this collaboration with talented artists from all genres? That performance is a very sentimentally well orchestrated cover.
It brings a tear to my eye.
RIP Scott Weiland

they killed it! i mean the bad way

It was beautiful and amazing to witness this song sung by so many! Thank you for your performance!

What did they do to my favorite Beatles song?! I can imagine Lennon was rolling in his grave!

This is fucking terrible
+Clay B I agree!! Big names small view...!!
+David Baker Only Guy who came close to understanding is Bono....the entire thing is sacriledge
Clay B you are so right, dude
@Anderson Jonathan So did Norah Jones. People shouldn't hate on this collaboration of talented artists.
Its soo amazing that they could get all these artist together, so sing such a great song. Its Truely Is a Work Of Art!
Somebody please take this down! My soul is in pain!

Tyler, é único
Loved weiland here, wish he sang the whole thing on his own.
Props to Brian Wilson
Steven Tyler!!!
It's like...the worst and hilarious cover i ever seen in my whole life
Hahaha!! Agree with you
Velvet Revolver could have potentially done this song on their own.
Yeah, absolutely terrible. I'm going to go throw on some Lennon right now and see if it'll help wash this shit out of my ears.
Actually, even Lennons version (including the let it be naked version) was pretty lame. It's a shame because this song is so brilliant but no one has done it really well.
vanihm Rufus Wainwright had a pretty great cover of it
randall rhodes .
