Thanks for performing this practical test. I'm looking for a repeater that will do exactly what you attempted, and I appreciate knowing that the AC600 isn't the solution. I might get one to try mounting in my garage, which is connected to my main router via a wifi bridge, to see if a LAN connection will provide better coverage for the camera at the end of my driveway.

I would guess that having a direct connection to the router would give you greater speeds than wireless connection like had.

I found your review searching for this brand/model. Interesting results. I was wondering about the antenna direction issue like others. Even if it is a "user error" issue, I'm glad to see that it was indeed an Honest Review. Please test again and report back in the description as well as possibly a quick reply here. Thank you.

I am not exactly sure on this but I think the repeater is just as it says a repeater. It is boosting and repeating the signal from the other two routers. Seems to me it is working pretty good. I don't think you can get speeds from that distance like that without a repeater.

    • @skinners100honestreviews3

My speeds were coming from the routers not the repeater... The repeater was giving me minimal speeds

did I hear you say, you were going to lay the wavelink on the roof of the chicken coop? laying it down (assuming horizontally) and mounting it vertically will make a huge difference.

@skinners100honestreviews3 hi. That is because it is true. As a WiFi specialty and radio ham, I can absolutely tell you you will see 100000x improvement. Please try it and update. I have ordered one 20 mins ago for my RV.

@@MikeM0XMX I'm looking to get one to boost signal from one RV on a property to mine. We aren't that far apart, but the internet provider has a crappy little internal antenna in their access point and signal has to pass through the walls of two vehicles and a bunch of bushes. I can get decent speed and ping time. But it is totally unreliable. Will drop out for minutes at a time. The price is right on this model. If it will work. Can you report back here in case @skinners100honestreviews3 doesn't?

2 questions - Did you test the wavlink signal from say 20 - 30 yards? How long is the cable that comes with the kit? My house router signal drops out only about 10 yards from my garden chalet so I only need to extent my signal a short distance. - thanks...

I did not try a 20-30yrd test. I would assume the signal would be pretty good but I cannot confirm that as I only tested for distance in this review.
The LAN cable from router to extender was about 6ft or less
