That was wonderful to watch! Thank you for letting us be apart of a day in the life of Indie-Anne and Major...soooo much fun to watch. CONGRATS to Mel! Win...win for all! LOVE IT!!! Happy Holidays to the whole Young Family 🇨🇦🥰Sharon.
You said it right Steve-they are time wasters. I could watch them for hours. There are some things money can’t buy. Most of us in the US don’t have land to accommodate horses. So often money is spent on THINGS that can’t compare to experiences you get from having horses Thanks for sharing it all with us. 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you so much for your wonderful horsemanship. I grew up close to a stable, my second home. Just gazing at horses, smelling them, hearing them munch, petting their muzzles, watching them being born, it was heaven. Now a days I'm able to do little more than watch TV; but your videos are thrilling. Tanya's voice is lovely, Steve's way with horses is an extraordinary gift. Thank you so much.❤
I was a dog trainer for years and years. I would borrow clients dogs and put 5-6 together, who I knew would be ok with each other, and just watch the dynamics play out. It was absolutely fascinating!! Take away a dog, watch things change again. I’m learning more about horses the past few years since doing Equine therapy after brain injury….again, fascinating to watch!! A friend has a ranch and she invites me out regularly to help. They have been such a blessing in my continued healing journey 🥰
Based on experience, I completely agree with your early training and desensitizing for these sponge-brain foals and with your rules. LOVE that you show the world how this methodology works.
Anytime spent with the babies are not wasted, they will only be babies for a very short time and look at all the joy and memories you have with them. Plus as you said, they are learning and bonding with you too. Very kind to share this with your viewer's. 👍
Beautiful family, it's a blessing to watch you all every day! Very emotional to see the baby's leave your home. Lots of love at Charlotte's house... Merry Christmas to all of you from Rosemary here in Stamford, Ct. USA!
HAVE WATCHED 4 OR IS IT 5 TIMES NOW? REMINDED ME OF WHEN I MOVED MY T/B AND BLIND HORSE. THE T/B EVEN BOXED HIMSELF! SO HEARTWARMING. BUT... AS THIS IS CHRISTMAS EVE AND THE SEASON OF JOY TO THE WORLD, I JUST MUST SAY YOU AS A FAMILY, PLUS ALL YOUR HORSES DO REALLY BRING JOY TO OUR WORLD. SO, WITH A SMILY ON "MY" FACE, I WISH YOU A BLESSED HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND LOOK FORWARD TO MORE JOYOUS VIDEOS IN 2025. XXX
They are an absolute credit to you and both absolutely gorgeous, you can see the quality already. You are going to have to tell us about Indie’s dad in the next one 🤪👍
@@jannotasleep9551 there was one video done by a dog trainer of all people who tried to have a go at him, not a big name or anything so barely got any views. It was a load of crap too but that's all i've seen. He is genuinely a great horseman.
@@SpottedLeafy That he is, I have watched many of his videos and he is great. What I said is a sane the old timers use to say just cutting up, I have not heard one bad thing about Steve and if I did I would sure tell them off.
They are so big! Feel a bit sorry for Major Jackpot who is going to have to learn about pecking orders all over again x) What good Mums they are. Lovely vid thank you. P.S. I know Nita has found a wonderful new home and will be happy as anything, I still send kind thoughts to Steve. Must be quite emotional to send Nita on. Happy Christmas to you all!
It's so wonderful to be let into your family life through your video's - I value it and love it so much. Watching the mares and foals with George and Mr Darcy - really interesting as the boys knew to keep away from the mares and foals around the hay. Such a lovely pre-Christmas moment - thank you for giving us this insight absolutely heart-warming viewing. 😊❤
What a marvelous video! I could watch animal behavior of any kind all day and not get tired of it. Such unusual hierarchy between your three horses. I can't recall ever seeing that (and I will be 80 soon and have watched animals all my life). Extremely interesting. Love the way you raised the babies. I'm the same way with raising puppies. It is so important to do everything you can at a very young age. BRAVO times infinity for you!! And that's why you are the best. Love the two foals. both beautiful builds and movement and great personalities. Charlotte's foal seems like he (?) is quite curious, very self-confident and a bit independent. Indy is so spunky and fun! Winners, both, for sure. I look forward to watching more as they are growing up. You are always my first go-to to watch. The best of holiday seasons for you all!!
A lot of great information. Just allowing your babies to learn right away the right way. I love that Nita is going to a lovely lady who will enjoy her and Nita will still have a bit of a job. She's worked her whole life and semi retirement would be great. (I wish I could semi-retire!)
WOWWWWW!! What a massive credit to you guys with all the investment you give to your horses which demonstrates why they are such consummate wonderful reflection of their owners. Merry Christmas to you all horses and people. 🎄🎄👏🇦🇺
Interesting, informative, entertaining video. A little sad about Nita, she will miss the herd when she moves to Mel's place. I do hope she still features in your videos occasionally. Merry Christmas All ❤
When Major squealed at the white pony, I couldn't help thinking "oh now you're gonna get it, boy!" But the pony showed amazing restraint. XD Very cute. Merry Christmas!
I cried, but understand and know nita will be well taken care of, and she knows Mel. She is the horse I've watched since I discovered Steve Young horsemanship on you tube !.
I think that song was from the movie Aladdin. What Sweet Little Falls you have and how happy Mel must be. I’ve seen quite a few videos with her and I know she will love Nita. Also, your three horses are still at home. It’s almost like a merry-go-round. I hope they quit moving long enough to get something to eat and drink. I really enjoy your channel and the philosophy you have that I know is glean from many other good horsemen.
Steve, Charlotte.. what a wonderful video.. wow.. how wonderful and calm your foals are.. both affectionate.. which will bode well being around the children. Steve I have rode since I was 5 years of age.. l am now 49!. , I struggle getting on & off a horse due to arthritis in both knees.. not rode for a few years. Would love to watch your video on how you train to stop a horse if falling off.. hope you all have a lovely Christmas.. all the best for 2025. Jo.
Thank you for this lovely update. May Mel and Nita do very well together and thank you Mel for making sure Nita stays in the family no matter what. Blessings on all of you!
I think that song was from the movie Aladdin. What Sweet Little Falls you have and how happy Mel must be. I’ve seen quite a few videos with her and I know she will love Nita.
That was interesting how the three horses have a circular hierarchy. I have seen the same thing when I once had four cats. One that got bossed by another could boss one that bossed the one that bossed her. I once studied a rhesus monkey colony and you would never see such a thing. The males had a separate hierarchy from the females but in both hierarchies, it was strictly linear from top to bottom.
Absolutely beautiful foals 🥰🥰 you have done an amazing job with these little ones. Merry Xmas to you all and a happy new year.🧑🎄🧑🎄🧑🎄🧑🎄🧑🎄 from 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Merry Christmas to the whole extended Young family. ❤ I found this very interesting and informative. I am starting to realize why you were shopping for unhandled youngsters when you were shopping for Chevy and Jimmie. I watch a young lady in Montana who buys inexpensive horses at auction, gets them fit, trains them, and sells them to an appropriate owner. She has a small collection she cannot sell. It takes a very long time for them to overcome abuse. Your foals are four to five months old, you said, and they are not yet weaned. She bought a weakling at auction which she had thought was four months old, but watching it now, she believes it was younger than that and the youngster is two now. This has been absolutely fabulous watching you bring the best out in the horses. Congratulations to Mel on her Christmas Present. 💝 (Put a bow on Nita?) Nita is a lucky girl and Steve is lucky that Nita is not going to go far. Perfect. Edit: weanling - Not weakling. No, Spellcheck. Do pay attention. 😉
Hi Steve, thanks for this lovely video, sharing your family home and Christmas decors...saw you and Mel a bit tearful...so funny watching the hierarchy, and those foals are just so cute....you are such a gentle, gentleman a reat Dad and husband...Have you got any brothers? 😊. Have a great Christmas 🙏

What a wonderful wonderful video! Full of beautiful surprises! Thank you so much Steve and Tonya and Charlotte! Merry merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you!
I am so sorry, to me this was so sad. I am the type of person that my animals are with me for life. When my horse died, her head was in my lap, she knew she was loved until the end. I bond with all my animals I couldn't bear to part with them.
In my experience, it's what's best for the animal. I've asserted custody in one case where the owner wasn't taking good care of their animal simply by explaining that so he realized the truth. In another case, I convinced the owner of an animal I'd been fostering for a year to where both of us loved it to bits that it deserved to have a forever home with someone who had a great situation. Painful decisions, but they were for the best and both animals thrived in their new circumstances. Not judging you, just offering a different perspective.
I agree, i is sad from a parting from "ownership" perspective. From a what's best for Nita perspective, this is merely a transfer to a different pasture taken care of essentially by a close family friend and wonderful horsewoman. Tanya and Steve travel alot. Nita is retiring. They will see her just as much and travel with peace of mind knowing she is in the best hands possible. It was a well thought out transparent decision.
What a great video, the foals have certainly grown and looking beautiful, thank you for showing all that and the trip, loved the way the foals walked onto the float. Wishing you all the best a very MERRY CHRISTMAS hope all your dreams true ❤❤❤❤❤ love from Australia
