    I just bought these for an '18 Civic SI. I can no longer spin in 2nd gear, and it's amazing. I can feel all the torque, and cornering at high speeds makes me giggle like a little girl.

    After a great deal of research I have decided on Continental Extremecontact DWS 06 for my 550i, have gone through snow a couple of times with smiles from ear to ear! Wet handling is great, dry handling is not as agressive as my summer continental extremecontact. Overall, it is impressive and would recommend to anyone who demand more than an ordinary set of all weather tires.

    These are awesome. I ran these last winter through some substantial snow and ice on my Civic. These aren’t a dedicated snow tire, but given you don’t drive like a maniac, these tires will not leave you stranded anywhere.
    Summer traction is OK. That’s it. I’m not digging the soft sidewalls, but they’re pretty comfortable.

    Ran them on my 2017 Camaro SS, they worked quite well. Decent life, but as typical on a staggered set up, the fronts outlast the rears. Just got a set for my Porsche Cayman.

      Did okay on my front wheel drive car. When we left the building to find 6 inches of snow, everyone was like, "Well, it was nice knowing you." Drive wheels spun a bit, but never got stuck, and I didn't have as much trouble as the Jeep, which was all over the place.

    I’ve put these tires on my Ford Focus today. I love these tires and had them on everything from the Cobra, Mustang coupe, Mercedes AMG, ect...
    This tire is a must for safety in winter weather.
    If I own a vehicle that is not four wheel drive, I maximize my handling on the road with the DWS. I have never gotten stuck or slowed down through snow with these tires. On most days, these tires are phenomenal in rain and summer heat.

    Living in FL I understand these may be a little of an over kill tire since it never snows in FL, however, these tires are amazing for my Focus ST. They keep traction when I get on it during dry conditions and has great handling during real bad rainy conditions. Not once have I ever felt unsafe while driving in the rain with these tires no matter how bad it’s raining and that is very important for me since FL has two seasons, dead (winter) and raining (summer) lol. The main reason for me choosing this particular DWS over the DW’s is for the longevity of the tire. DWS is rated for 50k and DW for 30k and for a $3 difference for an extra 20k miles, I’ll take it!

    • @TheSuburban15

      I only got about 35,000 out of the DWS 06 tires. I'm not sure how much it matters, but I do push the car hard in corners when traffic isn't bad. I did buy another set. The tires that came on the car were scary, and the Goodrich summer tires didn't make it to 30,000.

    My next set of tires. Subaru sends new WRXs to the northern climes with the Dunlop Summer tires, so I got a set of studded Nokians for the winter. What I ended up with is overkill for two seasons and garbage for the other two. Now that my Dunlops are worn, I need a good 3-season tire for performance, and still deal with the long transitional seasons of spring and fall here in NW PA. We've had snow as late as May, and as early as October, and other years have an 80-degree day in March! I have the dedicated snows for the worst of winter, these should be great for everything else.

    i just put a set on my ‘17 Si and i’m very impressed with the wet handling. i haven’t had a chance to try them on snow yet. that being said, they are nearly impossible to balance. after 3 tries with the originals they were still so bad the shop ordered another pair to put on the front in an attempt to get rid of the bounce at certain speeds. the new set is better but still very noticeable. still on the fence if i’m going to keep them or try something else.

    • @LukesJukes
      @LukesJukes 4 года назад +3

      I bought a set late last year and had my local shop install them- cost me $147 to mount and balance on 20’s. They said they had a really hard time balancing them as well. They’re far from being balanced perfect but they’re close enough to where it doesn’t really bother me. A little bit of steering wheel wobble is what it translates to. Definitely the stickiest tire I could imagine. ‘14 mustang GT with minor mods and I can hardly get the wheels to spin in 1st while power braking. Pretty crazy. I’ve yet to even hear them scream going around corners. Miles ahead of the Mickey T Street Comp trash tires I had before.

    I had these for about 35k miles. It was a good tire, but didn't last anywhere near 50k. Continental is kind of a pain to claim on the tire wear warranty. It's pretty quite, and it didn't really squeal or howl, and had low tire noise at highway speeds. Braking was pretty good, and so was wet traction. It's not exceptionally sticky, and the ride quality was decent. I switched to the Pure Contact which is a better all around tire, but doesn't have as high a speed rating.

    I just put Michelin crross climate plus on my 2014 lexus gs 350 awd based on great reviews. They are defininently very grippy in wet and dry, traction control hasn't come on at all even on hard breaking in wet. I just can't over the floatyness felling like I'm on balloons, even pressured up to 44psi, and road noise is very noticeable and has different sounds on different roads and wet. When coming to a hard stop they have a growl sound. I'm sure the winter traction is very good as they have the winter mountain emblem on them raiting them as winter tires. Very disappointed as I was looking for a good all season tire with very good winter traction and that's what they are marketed as. I'm comtemplating returning them for these continental dsw06s . These seem to have pretty good reviews also. My car is a sports sedan, but more of just a sedan even though its a gs in terms of sport suspension. I was hoping these would meet some ware in the middle of the two tires? Any thoughts?

    Just put these on a VW Touareg for the Rockies snow weather. Much quieter than the goodyear eagle GT II that come on the Touaregs. They have a much softer cushier ride and grip really well. Not sure how long the tread will last, we'll see. I went with the 275 - 45 -20. I wanted a 285 -45/50 - 20 configuration but Conti does not do a 285 in those sizes.

    I’m running the true contact touring on a Honda Odyssey lowered floor wheelchair converted van. Road noise is an issue due to the conversion and lack of insulation in the floor now. I am absolutely blown away by the truecontacts. I am a gearhead and I’ve had many vehicles and ran many different tires from off-road to high-performance and I’ve never been this impressed by a tire. Handling and feeling is firm like a performance tire yet they are pillow soft when it comes to bumps and vibration. There is literally next to no road noise. It’s like you’re driving on pillows when it comes to the sound. I am interested in the extreme contacts though. Wondering how much of a difference there is in ride between them and the true contact Touring tire?

      I'm Star lord legendary outlaw I am from the motor industry and I can tell you that a real wheel drive vehicle with snow tires on will handle very well and even better than an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. Many people believe that just because they have an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle, that they will not need winter tires or that they will not get stuck and that they have superior handling in the snow compared to a rear wheel drive or front wheel drive vehicle! Rear wheel drives are perfectly capable with winter tires on all four wheels!

      Depends on what kind of fitment/stance you are looking for! Take a look at our gallery to see what kind of look you are going for it works best for these types of situations! bit.ly/2XRN1Dr

      Fitment Industries looking too keep the suspension stock. Trying to keep it classy . Not a racing look or anything. Just wanted tires that don’t look so wimpy. Looks like I’m on 4 spare tires. Definitely something wider that won’t interfere with the wheel wells. A summer tire , with awesome handling.

    How well do they stand for comfort and quietness?? Anybody knows??

    • @TheTallMan50
      @TheTallMan50 6 лет назад

      Your tire pressure is also a huge factor when it comes to ride comfort. I don't know why they do this, but every tire shop fills new tires to 40 psi or higher. That makes your tires hard like a rock and subsequently makes for a stiffer ride. The factory specs on my Kia Cadenza says the cold pressure on my tires should be 32 psi. So you may want to check your tire pressure as well.

      I'm running that rim size with 255 40r18. It's definitely a bit meaty. I'm also on stock suspension. There is still a gap. Gonna go with lowering springs. It might rub at the back. Might have to roll the fender.

    So many people have said the sidewalls are soft, does this make a bad tire for stretching or better for it?

    • @TommyBlazeHD
      @TommyBlazeHD 6 лет назад +1

      I'm not one for stretching tires, but it depends on your application. The soft sidewalls help cushion your ride if your going with a stock or near stock fitment. Conversely, if you're going with a low profile tire, then I would *not* get this tire and stretch it at the same time. That's my .02

    • @tonybailey89
      @tonybailey89 6 лет назад +1

      @@TommyBlazeHD it's a stretch yes, but my new setup at 235/35r19 on a 9.5 wide is actually on the acceptable fit on continentals website... So I don't think it's anything extreme, definitely noted though

    • @TommyBlazeHD
      @TommyBlazeHD 6 лет назад +1

      tony45x220 Oh that’s very do able then. That doesn’t sound very extreme. A mild stretch can look nice. I’ve seen them executed well for car shows.

    • @tonybailey89
      @tonybailey89 6 лет назад

      @@TommyBlazeHD yep I've got them mounted up and I'll be adding to the fitmentinc gallery this weekend. The Conti DWS06 is a round tire anyway but it's definitely a noticeable but subtle stretch!

    Have them on a Prius C with the 16” rims, the installer said he has never seen them on a Prius. Well I want my teenagers to have a tire that’s going to be able to handle evasive maneuvers and safety even though I could only get them a Prius C. Definitely grippier than an eco tire.

    There's no directional indicators on the tires, but they are meant to only roll one direction. How can you tell what's the correct rotational direction?

    • @3rdgenchevy
      @3rdgenchevy 6 лет назад +1

      It's actually not a directional tire. It's an asymetrical tire. It has an inside and an outside which are marked on the sidewall as you can see at 2:14
