    These are among my favorite tires ever purchased. I love them on my 86, they feel like the next best thing to a set of gravel rally tires. Love them! So predictable and so surprisingly grippy.

    Great review! I've been searching tires for our 2018 Honda Accord Touring. The OEM tires are done. I swap summer and winter wheels and the car has less than 40k miles on it. That's why they have lasted so long. I've done this with multiple vehicles for years and never had a problem selecting tires. In this case I am looking for a semi performance tire that will be quiet and is highly rated. I put the BFG's that you mentioned on a 2018 Escape to replace the OEM tires and they completely changed the ride and performance of the car. It was amazing! Never experienced such a dramatic difference like that. Unfortunately BFG doesn't make that tire size for the Accord (235/40-19). I spoke with with one of the guys at Tire Rack yesterday. I usually buy all our tires and rims from them. He directed me to three different tires. The Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus was one of them and also the one I want to go with. Your video definitely helped solidify my decision! BTW, we are in Upstate NY between Syracuse and Buffalo so I will not be running these in the winter. Thanks for the great review!

      Originally from upstate NY, North of Utica, where 193" of snow a year is normal. About 13 years ago, I moved to southeast Wisconsin, and we get about 1/3 of the snow that upstate NY gets. My OEM Nexen N-Priz AH8 tires are terrible in light snow, and these Continental tires seem to be the best choice for my 2021 Soul.

    Just put these tires on my 2015 Volvo S60 replacing the Pirelli tires that came on the car. These are amazing tires. These tires are 50-75% quieter than the Pirelli tires and a much softer ride. The grip is also amazing... I've only had them a month, but so far I am 100% satisfied. Paid $1174.00 out the door mounted and balanced. Not too bad for the 235/40R19 tire size.

    Something else worth considering here is that the BF Gs are directional. They can only be rotated front to back on the same side of the car. If you rotate them side to side the tread pattern will be backwards. The contis don't have that issue.

    I just bought new tires for both my RAV4 Hybrid AWD and my Chevy Bolt EV. I have these ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus on the Bolt, and CrossContact LX25 tires on the Toyota. I have had these tires 6 days. My initial thought impression for these tires are that they are both good, but the ExtremeContact DWS 06Plus tire is clearly much more noisy than the CrossContact LX25 design. I wouldn’t say objectionably noisy, but there is definitely a low but distinct hum at highway speeds on the ExtremeContact that isn’t there with the CrossContact.

    Looking for replacement tires for the Pirellis on my Mustang, and was down to these or the Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3. The more I hear about the Continentals, the better I like them. Snow performance isn't an issue in Florida, but rain is a big deal here, lots of standing water during thunderstorms. I look forward to putting these on the car.

    This is my 2nd set on my 2006 VW Jetta TDI. Great traction and all around performance for a 25,000 mile tire. If money was no object I'd be back for another round. The last set had 3 flats in the last 5k of 30,000 so 25k is it........Met all my rotations and balance requirements @ Discount Tire & they want almost $800 for another set. Just can't do it any more so I'm off to explore the world of cheap tires. Looking at several well rated tires in the $250/4 range.

    Do you think, simply due to their better tread wear life than what I observe with summer tires, that it'd be a better choice, even for someone who lives all year around in a desert climate? Or is there a good summer tire with a comparable tread wear, but notably better than DWS06+ for wet and dry traction?

    • @cmiovino
      @cmiovino  Год назад +1

      It’s hard to beat them if you’re going for wet traction too. However, I’d look at Continental’s ECS. They’re the king of rain tires for autocross/racing. Great dry grip too - more than the DWS. I’m not just a Conti fan, but they do make some good tires for various weather conditions.

    • @dwtubeyou
      @dwtubeyou Год назад

      @@cmiovino Thanks Chris. To clarify: Is ECS the same as their Extreme Contact Sport 02? That summer-only tire of Conti's seems to be $165 more for four, and of course lower tread life. I'd probably take ONE of these two tradeoffs, but both together is pushing me toward the DWS-6+ at this point. Super video!

    • @SuperMrLAXer

      i could not recommend the conti extremecontact sport and the new sport 2 enough for your situation. it sits between the dws06+ and their 200tw track focused tire (Extreme Contact Force). I have put a lot of miles on the sport, currently run a set on a miata, and will be getting the extremecontact sport 2 when this set is toast (10k miles, look new, but miata doesnt way anything). they are plenty grippy in the summer and most importantly surprisingly good in the wet. you wont get caught out on a random rainy day unless youre really pushing your luck or not giving yourself enough room to brake. the ride i would say is good. the tires inspire confidence wet or dry and they break away pretty progressively too, which is another bonus in the wet or dry. reviews are very good. they come in loads of sizes and they arent Michelin money but get you 85-90 percent there. take a peak at them.

    Yes that "floaty/wobbly" feeling you get in the DW06 because the outer sidewall is not as stiff! I bought this for my 2016 Ford Mustang GT and you can't have these cars wobbling or wiggling from the back period! The third problem it causes with the DWS06's is that because it has a softer sidewall than the Plus version this also causes your tire to bulge out and f@ck up your offset thus causing your tires to poke out more than performance tires which I forgot to account for after sntaching them on a sale during COVID and just using them now! Thank god I have a second set of summer wheels with my Indy 500 tires which I love and now will have to get those on and remove my 19" wheel setup that has the DWS06's removed so my mobile tire guy can remove the tires so I can sell them, PEOPLE GO STRAIGHT TO THE DWS06 PLUS AND NOT THE DWS06 LIKE I DID!

    • @cmiovino
      @cmiovino  Год назад +3

      TireRack did a test of the two head to head. The Conti will be slight better in noise/road manors and in the wet. He AS4 is slightly better in the snow. The Conti is way better if there’s any ice. The Michelins are more expensive too. I think it really comes down to how much snow you get and price (if that’s even a factor). The Conti is still really good in the snow, so the bar is high on both.
