    Jeff! I love these types of videos. A full run through of the individual plants of same variety in your collection. I equally love the plant house tours, but this is a nice concise version. Please keep uploading, we love you! ❤😊

    I was just gifted a Fingers yesterday. I cut off one leaf that had severe brown spot. I blasted the peat that was cemented to her very healthy root system. I put in moss with a bit of Orchid fertilizer sprayed in it. Ill be watching yours, any advice appreciated, I'm not super experienced with Anthurium. Yours are so lovely!

    Thanks for your videos. Can you tell us how to keep insect pest from harming your houseplants? I have some scale insects that attack my succulent/cactus plant.

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Год назад

      Fortunately I haven't dealt with scale. I do know you take rubbing alcohol on a qtip and wipe them away.

    Awesome collection, they are all unique! Pretty sure I read somewhere that brown tips on leaves can also be the plant attempting to expel chemicals from tap water....?🤔 You use a filter so you're good👍😄 Thanks for sharing🥰

    I have about 100 of the Flamingo type of all colors. If I can find some of the ones you bought in the 40/50 dollar range, I would try one or two of them.

    Hey, Jeff I just bought an anthurium regale. I noticed you keep sphagnum on top of the soil of your anthuriums. I know your regale in perlite but should I keep sphagnum on top of my regale?

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Год назад +1

      Hey April. I will be repotting mine into an aroid mix soon and I will be adding moss on top to hold in the moisture. It's up to you as it's not necessary, but I sure has helped me know when to water. When the moss is crispy then I'm fairly certain the soil is getting dry too

    • @AprilJ
      @AprilJ Год назад +1

      @@EverythingPlants I know it is not necessary but I actually like the idea when I had seen you were doing it. so I tried it on one anthurium and loved how it worked so I did it with more. With my regale, I guess I was just making sure. Good to know you will be doing the same. Thanks for the help. As always I love your videos and advice.

    I know you've been asked this before, so I'm sorry, but what is your preferred /needed humidity level for your anthuriums? I live in the desert, so I'm looking to humidify one room and I'm taking a consensus of plant youtubers with how much humidity they provide their anthuriums when they are not using grow cabinets. Right now I'm afraid to go down this road, so I'm trying to do the research first.

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Год назад

      Hello! I live it a very dry region of Canada and mine are usually in about 50-60% most days.

  • @aniou8126

    Why do you think the chunky aroid mix rotted the roots? The same thing happened with one of my monsteras but I can’t explain why (it had so much air in the mix).

    • @Anni-Leni
      @Anni-Leni Год назад

      I know I'm very very late but I thought it could still be helpful. Even though a chunky aroid mix has good aeration, many contain a lot of coco chips, moss, coco coir. They can hold on to a lot of water and make the mix too moist for too long. Many Anthuriums are epiphytes or even lithophytes and for them it's often too much moisture.

    Beautiful A. Queremalense. I killed mine & now I have another, do you treat your Queremalense the same like your other anthuriums ? I don't know why it's so fussy under my care

      Hello Nton. I honestly neglect that one so bad since I got it. I finally put it in a larger pot and gave I a support stick. Stay tuned for that video. I definitely let this one get a bit too dry. I've read that it doesn't like bright light either, so it's off to the side of my other plants under a grow light

    Does Perlite sorta work like Leca? Like does it wick up if you use a reservoir or water in the bottom? I was thinking about moving my ZZ to leca but leca is expensive and I already own perlite :P LOL

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Год назад +1

      It is a porous material, but im not sure it wicks up water. I treat it the same as soil when I water.....just water it thoroughly until it comes out the drain hole. The great thing about using perlite is AIR FLOW! The roots love this. I don't use a reservoir or anything. You may have to water a bit more frequently then plants in soil.

    • @ChristyD97
      @ChristyD97 Год назад +1

      I have found that perlite does not wick up like leca. You have to constantly water, or make sure it's in an alright container that retains the moisture .. like a prop box.
