I won't lie, the new Pro EQ3 caught my attention. The only dynamic EQ I have that I like is TDR Nova but it's a frickin CPU hog. I also don't like buying too many plug-ins and would rather master the stock ones. I haven't upgraded since 4 though because the upgrades are coming so rapidly now that it seems like there's not enough change to upgrade. Kinda like buying Madden 23 when it's a complete recycle of Madden 22.
Thats why i just go with presonus sphere prenumeration. A year of it cost about as much as a crossgrade but you get everything for it. All the plugins, all the instruments and soundsets. But autosaves are still unreliable as ever and having to restart playback some times because an audio track here and there might not be playing sometimes. And i have a bunch of crashes that happen so randomly that its near impossible to tell what the cause is. Last crash i had was when i switched a mono track to a stereo track. It didn't report any plugin which would have caused the crash. But i opened the project again, flipped that switch back and forth a few times just fine. So its really hard to repeat the crashes. They are random as far as i know.
@@DanTheDiver33 If you run exclusively or close to it on stock plugins that makes sense i suppose. i like when new features are added that makes sense. the vocoder is a bonus too though i find the square in the middle of it confusing. and the multiband compressor doesnt have the most intuitive gui either. i have 409 plugins installed now and i use most of them. those i dont use as much are a bunch that come bundeled with supscripions i have for only a few plugins.
@@DJayFreeDoo I totally agree with you! I just didn't want to pay around 900€ for the Fabfilter complete bundle while StudioOne6 now has similar features and plugins that come bundle with it. It's doing it's job while not making my wallet suffer :)
The new Vocoder sounds and looks like a digitally plugin effect from the 90s... oh man. Not a good idea to check with a drum loop. Vocoder with real voices are more interesting.
channels A/B ing would be a good feature. Where channels can be linked but with an oposit on/off fuction on the mute knob. Sonar had this feature and it made a/b ing channel mixing easy

People using those things all the time, def something to be used in every project (at least in house music) same as mid side eq (please tell me i overlooked that as well, would the best suprise ;)) Checked it btw, and it is a soft clipper, so still need to catch some intersampling peaks afterward (hard clip mode i cannot find)
We really need an autotune plugin in studio one because almost every daw have its own auto tune plugin but studio one is still missing its own. Only option available is to use 3rd party plugins.
@@architechproducer Yea, Melodyne is used for manual pitch tuning. It still doesn’t have any auto pitch tuning plugin like autotune. Even logic pro and fl studio have their own stock autotune plugins.
I have Studio One 5 Professional. I went to purchase this new product. I was unable to locate it when I logged into my account. When I added it to the basket, without logging in, I was not asked to log in. Is there no discounts for current Studio One users? Are we all being pushed towards the Sphere and subscriptions?
Just purchased new license and I am getting disappointed. How can I audition multiple notes ? I have a cord of three notes and would like to select them with the mouse and hear the sound ? It seems impossible (or I'm really missing something). It is working in Ableton, why not in S1 ?

I am not going to do this update unless a really good deal is offered. Rather I can spend that money on some plugins that provide lifetime updates (Meldaproductions, UVI shade eq, etc) so that I can switch to any DAW such as Reaper (Inexpensive) or FL Studio (Free lifetime updates).
More TABLATURE PRESETS or CUSTOM TUNINGS... We need more tablature tunings on the score notation. There is no DROP C or 7 Strings DROP A, DROP G... That are VERY COMMON! Please update this Presonus! Thanks for this amazing DAW

Yoooooo I’m sooooo disappointed all the new added features are great actually excellent but for years me and several others have been asking for continuous scroll during playback it’s such a small feature to add as an option for those who want it but it’s like you guys are refusing to add this tiny like super tiny feature but why? Why can’t we have the option to have continuous scroll like would that cripple the software or something I don’t get it this should not even have to be asked for it should of been included since at least version 3 I’ve been asking for this since version 4 guys please please please please add continuous scroll during playback😢😢😢
@Gregor - I love love love this because I"m constantly notching out distracting facets/artifacts from synths and samples. But now that you've got me hooked on this, what I'm finding is that I WISH that the dynmic mode had a RELEASE velocity like the compressors do so I can better match the envelope curve of the target elements I'm trying. Probably could use an attack velocity as well for symmetry although I personally haven't found a need (yet) for that in the context of dynamic EQ.
there is one thing that i am looking for, and that is anAI to find my tempo automaticly(?) just like a tap function .... but that it detects my tempo when i am recording and all its variations in speed - that it automaticly follows me and fills in the tempo map - it should be easy to create i quess - i hope u understand what i mean and i am looking forward in V7 or 6.1
There is something substantially wrong with the code. When bouncing the track with the Pro eq3 on the track , it cuts the beginning of the rendered track off. Make sure there is no extra space in the beginning of that track, before rendering. It’s a serious bug. Who knows what else is wrong with that program. Rendering is a very important issue, there must be something wrong with the code, my guess. And that’s with their own plug-in, let alone the third party plugs.

Sadly the new plugins are things S1pro owners bought long ago. Fabfilter proq3 for instance. Bout this in 2019. The new desser is cool...but what mix engineer doesnt have 4 or 5 in his box. Ive remained on s1pro4 because nothing truly groundbreaking has come out. Btw..you can do the same thing with the new studio one EQ that the new Desser does.
And get autosaves to work. i lose hours of work sometimes because i forget to save manually and autosaves have just stopped being created at some point.
@@mangoman3038 I have it set to 30 seconds. and that only works between the first two saves, the next one is about 5 minutes, then 8, then 15m then maybe 30, and a couple more before they stop being created alltogether.
Whose terrible idea was it to demo a vocoder ON A DRUM LOOP??????? FFS. Please, get some decent demo content or producers to showcase new shit because that was cringe.
Set up your fx track and drag the third party plug to the track. Click on the fx track in the mixer window and then click the automation symbol in the top left where the hand is at. Boom...automation for anything you want
Maybe this workaround isn't the most straightforward way to do this, but if you have a third-party plugin open, go to the top left corner where it says "Read" and change it to "Latch" and then twist whatever parameters you would like to adjust and then it creates an automation lane for it! Make sure you turn it back to "Read" when you are done!
Studio one is a great program but has lots of bugs, I will not upgrade anymore unless it's really worth it. Also I thought I would try studio one + for the extras, I already own studio one pro, and the monthly products are horrible and studio one should be ashamed. I went back years with there loops and extras and almost all are useless. The loops and extras remind me of what you would get in the old days from a free disc with Computer Music magazine. I disappointing!!!!!!
The vocoder is terrible, and I'm speaking from experience, playing around with it myself. I haven't been able to control it through midi though midi is going through it. This plugin needs a lot of work to it.

Still you have underwhelming amount of FX. Users have to rely on 3rd party plugins heavily. Amount is enough probably for traditional mixing but for sound design? Look at popular ableton (not big fan of it but it is strong contender to my new daw after Bitwig is dead). Considering now to go to ableton or S1 and first one at the moment winning in built in plugins area without even competing.

Saw the Pro EQ3 Update and pulled the Upgrade-Trigger instantly :D
For me it's the Show view/feature since SO5 that came in really handy

Attack and release is missing with the pro eq 3. Sometimes the release is to slow
I was wondering the same...what if you want to sidechain just the lows in the bass away from the kick....love to adjust the release then

clippers, stereo delay (haas), m/s on pro-q 3... amazes me how long such plugins take to be added, waiting for 4 years now since I started using S1.

There’s already a clipper in studio one from v5. The limiter has a clipper in it. You just have to change it from limit to clip.

It’s similar - but you cannot adjust the crossover points so precisely.

Why does PreSonus add newly branded PreSonus plugins, but they look so different than the others? Need to have a consistent look and feel.
